That’s why the contestants get a one step advantage each at the start of the final chase. It’s equivalent to about 3.5 secs each for the time Brad takes to ask & nominate an answer.
I'd say Mark is the fastest but also the most inconsistent. There was a performance where he said "Not enough." when the team only scored 13 or 14 I believe, and then he lost. Hilarious.
Mark sometimes appears on the Australian The Chase, Anne does too. I've always believed Mark is the easiest Chaser to have a chance to beating, solely because when the question is about something uniquely Australian he often doesn't know the answer. Just like myself in relation to this English version. I have no idea about soccer teams and many of the British TV shows, cities and celebrities
A lot of Aussie contestants don't know many Australian related questions either. There was a question about a snake last week and you had to give the correct continent as an answer. The answer given was 'Africa'.This snake was native to Australia,..I didn't know either, quite often the answer is Australia being an Australian quiz show. I thought Matt might be the easiest (relatively speaking) to chase down, but they're all bloody hard to chase down. I reckon you would need to study for a year on all kinds of subjects to have a chance and hope that at least one other contestant has done the same. 21 seems to be the magical number to give yourself a close to 100% chance of winning it.
He had the same problem in the short lived US version where he was the only Chaser. Whenever the question was on US civics/politics he would get it wrong more often than not. He was fine on US media as that gets exported all over the world, but the more esoteric US questions really tripped him up.
Tbh they were a tricky set of questions, not surprised he fluffed it. The Beast is not even the best chaser though, for my money its Anne. and they all pale into insignificance compared to Kevin on Eggheads, he is like world quiz champ 10 times. I don't think any of the chasers have been world quiz champ.

Still far cry from US version when he only chased 9 steps out of 26. One of them in Team J is the quiz show legend and now current American chaser James Holzhauer.
Reading some comments, people have a go at mark and orher chasers. How many of you could sit where they do and answer all those questions within two minutes getting them right?! Every set of questions are different. Trying to remember or know everything would not be easy, especially when it's not your area of expertise. Look at saun wallace. @@Stabbles You can't of watched it if you don't know what I mean. Ant & Dec were changing the questions on the system, giving the answer to the "contestant" before the question even came up, nothing stopping the real producers giving the answers to the chaser either.

The advantage in time the chaser has,he doesn’t have to wait for his name to be mentioned after each question,in order to answer 😊😊
The pushbacks kinda balance that out though.

11 wrong, 5 pushbacks. Not as disastrous as that other performance in 2016, or on the Christmas special
Sure about that? Here's the recent disastrous showing: ua-cam.com/video/7QEeUxuqViI/v-deo.html
