This is really good advice! Just don't be too afraid of static electricity, it's no guaranteed PC Killer, but there is a small and real possibility that if one unloads close to a sensitive component it could damage your PC.
I don't get why you would be this extra careful with packing it ? Graphics card removal is obvious but if you are that scared about ESD then why not simply remove the CPU too ? - I'm moving soon and I'll admit that I'll merely remove the rtx and let everything else on board. In my experience it does really take a LOT to kill a motherboard. Then again a few days ago a friend of mine called from her work because no peripherals were working anymore.... One of her subordinates confessed to having tried charging her phone on the tower and .... "It made a big spark and the computer rebooted" (she's not the kind of person that would hate her nor know about USB killers) - I don't know how she managed to kill both the USB 2 AAAAND 3 controllers though... My friend was SOL as any replacement has to be done through their specialist, so no one day amazon delivery for a new motherboard. ESD and MB failure in general are pretty much voodoo magic. Gotta start creating a ritual... And maybe filling the case with sage ?
? It's obviously not just about ESD but about the risk of it being physically crushed or smashed into. GPUs are not as secure in the PCIe socket as a CPU is, so the vibrations from moving might damage the socket, particularly if you have an extremely heavy card. That's not a concern for the CPU, and you don't need to remove it,
