    Excellent video. I've always used iTunes smart playlists but I never knew you could create folders and subfolders for them inside of iTunes. I was creating folders and subfolders inside of serato and dragging my smart playlists into them. This is a much needed time saver for me. Thanks for sharing...

    Great Video. You can also do this on Serato Dj Pro using the smart crates and rules. You only need to properly tag your music using the genre, label, comment etc options. It might be easier with iTunes but I prefer to do this in my Dj software because I can also prepare my tracks with hot cues and so on.

      Serato DJ Pro does have great smart crate options, but the flexibility that iTunes gives because I use multiple DJ softwares really comes in handy.

    Hey just looking to start back djaying .Can I ask exactly which OSX you’re using as well as what version of Serato you’re using? Just got a refurbished 2012,15” i7 MacBook but when I got it the play and pause button don’t show in ITunes at all so cant pause a track if just listening to some tunes.Im running High Sierra 10.13.Understand high Sierra has issues with Itunes 12? Exactly how to transfer Serato DJ 1.9 and all tracks from old laptop to current one? Should I downgrade to Yosemite so can use iTunes independently and which Serato version will run best? Sorry for long question.Sny advice anyone ?Thanks

    Love your video's - thanks for sharing - I use a USB - it's where I store all of my music - I edit and make my playlists on my home pc (it's easier) then I plug it into my laptop and I am ready to go. The reason I use a USB stick - it's portable and I don't have to worry about WiFi and shitty connections at my venue. Also I need my songs to stay in the same order as the playlist that I have made. Itunes puts them into alphabetical order when I transfer to other devices - makes me nuts - I had to buy a separate program called Synctunes to fix that. Can you do a video on how to have Itunes on your home pc, laptop and use a USB stick, have it all work together? Thanks!

    Great video once again PDot...I have a question, can Itunes be used for my main library, I have over 30k songs stored on an external drive?

    • @PDot
      @PDot  5 років тому

      Yes it can, but you will have to have to point your iTunes library to your external drive. It takes a few extra steps, but pretty easy to setup!

    Dope info, Do you ever experience any issues with iTunes Match and interference from using Apple Music?

      Honestly I don't use those features within iTunes so I'm not sure.

    Is there a way to make a playlist that auto populates daily with the top 25 songs on itunes? i haven't been able to figure out if it's possible.

    I find d iTunes is missing certain elements like you can't make playlists on file directory or by folder or file name and it's missing columns like lyrics or remixes I don't know why apple are such duches

    So you don't use rekordbuddy 2 anymore? i'm bouncing between itunes to rekordbox dj to rekordbuddy 2 to serato, in hopes i'm not losing tracks on the way

    • @PDot
      @PDot  5 років тому

      I use iTunes to do the majority of my organizing but still use Rekord Buddy 2 to sync all the metadata between the different software.
