This is the in-game version of the Streets of Whiterun. That's why it sounds slightly different than the OST.

My Dad just passed away on July 18th 2017. He was 57 and was diagnosed with liver cancer early 2016. He also had cirrhosis of the liver. He loved to play Skyrim and this song hits home so much. It's so beautiful but also reminds me how much I miss him. I take walks in my neighborhood at night and listen to this nonstop. It helps me to feel closer to him. He meant the world to me and was the best Father a son can have. Love you Dad

This game.. this game man. Will forever hold a special place in my heart. During rough times, I would get on and just become so immersed into the world, forgetting about my problems. It was an escape from reality, a place where you could go and be any thing you wanted. This game has helped me get through some of the roughest times of my life. To some it's just a silly old magic game, but to me, it's a happy place. A place to go when I need to escape. I will forever love this masterpiece.

Its like this song is telling a story only my subconscious understands and all the while my emotions are being bombarded through it's ups and downs. This piece speaks to me on a spiritual level. I have yet to hear a song that tops this one.

These soundtracks make me realize that for a lot of people gaming isn't just recreational
It is a form of art that can be critiqued and enjoyed in more ways than just playing the game. It is, for a lot of people (myself included) an emotional experience, and a way to take a break from the real world. Thank you for posting this, and thank you Jeremy Soule, for producing such a wondrous and beautiful soundtrack that draws me into the game, even four years later.

I was walking back to my house in Solitude at night. The skies were that red color, stars were out, the two huge planets could be seen at the horizon, and this music started playing. And I just remember stopping for a second and looking at the sky and the quietness of the town and realizing the beauty this game offered. It was a surreal moment and it just made me forget all the troubles I had in real life. It's my first time playing the game and I've still have more to finish. I'll never forget this. Thank you Bethesda for making such a masterpiece.

Thought I'd share my experience with this song during Skyrim play. It
was midway through the game. I don't remember which dungeon crawl I was
on but it was long and brutal. My companion, Lydia was with me through
all of these quests so far. During the final battle, I made it through
the last door leading out of the dungeon. I was overlooking a beautiful
scene in northern Skyrim as the sun was setting. This song was playing.
Got the "feels" for a bit enjoying the view and this music. As I
turned around to look at Lydia I noticed she wasn't with me. I kinda
panicked. I went back into the dungeon and discovered she was killed in
the last battle. I didn't have a save to go back to. Got the "feels"
again and made the lonely trek back to Whiterun. Whenever I hear this
song I think of that time. Crazy.

      By good I mean make it a damn RPG, not an online MMO. ;~;

***** elder scrolls games are usually a 5-6 year cycle. Dagger fall came out in 96 morrowind came out 02, oblivion came out in 06 and skyrim in 2011. Each game is 5-6 years apart.

+RalezGaming I hope that's true for the next one! I cannot wait, and I hope they make the atmosphere and ambiance just as well as they did in all the previous games.

+RalezGaming Yeah seriously. A confirmation that they're at least developing it would be nice. Also, a confirmation that Jeremy Soule is back composing for the game is a must. It's gotta be the dual package.

Ahh the good times... It was 2011 and I was 14 years old. I bought Breezehome and chilled there immersed in this soundtrack. I would do anything to go back to that time in my life. The good simple times of my life.

I remember the 1st day playing Skyrim. Me & my best friend had plans to go to Gamestop for the 11-11-11 midnight release. We got decked out in our "best" cosplay & went to the midnight release party, had pizza, cupcakes & drank soda. I was a Nord with a white fur vest, drawn on tattoo over my eye (forgot which) & a loin cloth type jeans with a prop Battle Axe. (talk about being cold in just that) He went all black as a Brotherhood Assassin with my REAL DAGGERS! We got in a few hours after midnight, booted it up after DAY 1 PATCHES/UPDATES....it was soo awesome.

I remember being 14 years old and playing this game. While this was in the background, I installed a mod that made possible to have all companions you wanted active at the same time, so I brought houses and made them stay there.
Watching them eating and being at home together made me feel like I was part of that house.
