Hey everyone just a quick update! Since this video's release there has been a small change to the Lased Design's 7in Adapters. Basically, the little studs that connect to the main part of the adapter have received a V2 update. Instead of putting your little studs directly on the ball heads of the factory headlight assembly, you now reuse those little specialized clips that are the OEM headlights and screw them onto the studs. If you have recently ordered a set of adapters, you will notice that the studs on the kit have small holes instead of large holes. Please do not try and bore a much larger hole like you see me doing in the video. If you have the V1 version, you can upgrade to the V2 version, but it honestly doesn't make that much of a difference. Haha thats just one of many ideas that I have! The biggest problem I have right now is that it takes a while to get these videos to this level of quality and I only really can do these in my free time. I really want to try to make these videos as understandable as possible for experienced and newcomers to understand.
I have been contemplating this upgrade for my H3 for months. I looked for kits but found none. Not only did you create a highly detailed video, but saved me a lot of heartache with trying to "wing it" using my own badly fabricated parts. Thank you for the how-to! I'll be ordering these. Oh yes! I have looked into some other DIY custom retrofits that people have done in the past and they are just too complicated and there is a lot that can go wrong. Also many of these other methods involve sacrificing the OEM headlights to fit the new lights into. I really don't like that because if the project doesn't turn out good, you need to rebuy new oem headlights. In contrast, these new adapters allow you to keep your old OEM head light housing if you ever need it. Also I have seen some people do some janky wiring to try to get these lights to work instead of using the proper harness.
@@4lowmode exactly. I'm not for using zip ties on headlights. Your way is definitely the best method for the upgrade. I found the ThingVerse 3d printer schematic for adapter free to download. We have a local here that will print a prototype for me for $20, so I'll let you know how that goes.
@@LibertyHand Oh yes I know the ones that you are talking about. That was done by a forum user on Hummer H4O. There is not a whole lot of information out there about them. Apparently the guy that designed them did get them to work, however all the photos he posted on them are no longer available which is annoying. Also he later abandoned that idea and instead opted to fit 5in headlights in the stock headlight housing. Those 7in adapters do seem like they work, but are 3 negatives that I see. One is that the studs are not removable or replaceable. So if you break one, you need to replace the whole adapter. Second is that they do not use a retaining ring to hold them down and instead, they use 2 screws on either side to pinch the headlight in. Less of a secure fit in my opinion. Third is that these adapters were never tested to see if they could fit multiple sized headlights. Not trying to scare you off from trying it, but that is just the limitations that I have seen myself from looking at it. Right on. I was thinking the same things. The one you used is a much more advanced designed, and those replaceable studs make a lot of difference. I'll add that often 3d prints need to be readjusted often after printing the first one. I didn't realize it wasn't designed to use the retaining ring. Thanks for pointing that out. I watched this video about four complete times as I was receiving everything I needed from Amazon. Prior to installing these headlights it had been a long time since I'd worked on my own vehicle. Anyway, I owe you big time! I followed your directions to the letter and I could not be happier with the outcome! My truck looks exact like what I had in mind the the headlights are exactly what I had anticipated! Thanks again for the very detailed step-by-step instructions! I'd love to be able to show you a couple pics.

Hey! Thanks for the video! I've had the 7" led headlights for a few years now and I started having issues with them just recently, so i decided to go back to the drawing board and redo everything. Just put my new headlights in and used this wiring harness and everything worked out great. Thanks again.

I have a 2006 base model and thing is a beast. I am about to put an off road light package on it but this is what I have been looking for to convert to LED because the light issue. This was everything I needed, thank you for correct wiring and product links.

That's something that I would think about doing in the future. I do think that I need more subs and viewers for that to be realistic. From what I have seen only a very small percentage of viewers will donate to a channel, which is totally fine. I don't expect anyone watching to obligated to donate. Also I really do gotta get better with how much I upload. I currently have tons of different ideas that I would like to cover, but finding the time can be difficult at times. Down the road, I would really love to turn this into a part time or even full time job where I could actually have a dedicated amount of time each week to cover something new. Thanks for the great video! I had no idea someone made adapters. It would be nice if the adapters filled the part of the empty headlight cavity between the grille and around the headlight itself to prevent bugs, mud, etc, from building up. I plan on replacing my headlights in the future.
Haha yeah! The same people that made the adapter are working to make a cover. No word on price point yet, but there is a working prototype as of right now!
@@4lowmode Installed the fog light kit at the same time using the Lased Designs fog light brackets. Also went smoothly. Had to reverse the fog light connectors for them to work correctly. I also have a 2008 Alpha, Birch White.
WOW thank you so much your video really helped. The other four vehicles I have don't have to be dissembled to change a light bulb. My right turn signal and marker light went out. The engineers that designed this POS were really stupid and went out of their way to create spaces for rodents to live in. First they put a depression under that battery that is a perfect house for mice and rats. A ground squirrel died in the air cleaner after building a giant nest because of the easy access between the inner and outer fenders. Following your instructions to remove the grill I found out that between the plastic inner fender and plastic outer fender is a great space for rodents to live. That is why the squirrel decided on the air cleaner, there were too many other rodents in the other spaces. They chewed the wires to the side marker light and turn signal and other wires. I couldn't have created a better home for pack rats if I tried. Keeping the hood open did not help because the inner and outer fender space is a self contained habitat for rodents. Now it is apparent that they used that to get to the windshield wiper deck which we discovered was stuffed with mesquite beans when the windshield was replaced. I really appreciate your videos but I am selling this POS because I can't keep the critters out no matter what I do.
Glad you found use out of the tutorial! To be honest, in all my years of ownership of the H3 and reading forum threads about H3s, I haven't really heard that many problems about rodents burrowing into the H3. It could just be that you get a lot more rodents out where you live. To change out the marker and turn signal bulbs, you don't really need to take the grille out and remove the headlight assembly. You can actually access both of those bulbs by dropping the wheel wells to get access to them. The wheel wells are held in by a total of 10 plastic push clips. You can actually get away with taking about 6 or 7 of them out and then just bending the wheel well down so you don't have to take the entire thing out and then you can gain access to the bulbs.
Love the videos. Since I now know how to remove the grille guard, d rings, bumper and skid plate, I'm going to upgrade to halo head and fogs. Wish you could should a fog light replacement video (or just add to existing ones). Gonna change out the horn, turn signals and side markers while I'm at it. Can't wait for your next upload.

Yep they are pretty new! Much better option rather than trying to modify your stock OEM Headlights and fit a pair of 7in Headlights in them. I have seen that done before, but it looks like a pain and requires way too much work. These adapters allow you just to pop them right on!

@@MrCrf450rider In terms of brands, there is a huge price disparity between the cheaper lights that you can get on Amazon and the brand-name ones. As I mentioned in the video, the cheaper ones don’t really have an actual brand. What sellers will do is order them from Ali-Baba, stick a company name on them for branding purposes, but they really don't have an actual company behind them. These cheaper lights are still pretty good for the price, but I imagine in 5 to 10 years that the lenses may start to get hazy, but it is still cheaper to replace them again, then buying a brand name one. The brand name headlights will definitely hold up over time better and possibly come with a warranty, but the prices for these headlights usually start at around $400-$1000. One of the more common brand name ones you see are the JW Speaker Model 8700 J2 Black Headlights which are on Amazon right now from $449. This model was an original design that many of these cheap no-name brands copied the design from.

Love all your videos Man veryinformative recently got a 2008 video that had number for fan speed not work and realized that it had a recall on the little wiring harness behind the glove box on the passenger side and the dealer only replaced half of it the female side of the plug was still burnt you might do a video on that to let everyone know that both sides of that plugneed to be replaced it is in the parts directions at your mine was only half replaced. the pigtail
The female pigtail is available at your and must be spliced into the wiring harness on the female especially if your plug is burnt. The recall says could catch on fire apparently my plug had caught on fire and they only replaced the male side of the white plug on harness
@@billiebowling7755 Yes I am aware of that problem! I had that happen on my 2006 H3. I got it recalled and took it to the dealer. It worked for about 5 minutes and broke again and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Thanks for the tip though. I'll have to look into doing that!

You should grab a 7" Hella E-code H4 and throw that in with some Phillips Extreme Vision +130% bulbs. The cutoff and light pattern of those housings is second to none. Much better then any LED on the market. Plus cheaper then any quality LED.

Once again great video I’m actually going to do this conversion. I’m thinking for the ground to use the fender support bracket that sits below the light housing. I seen another video some mounting a different type turn signal I’m doing that as well . Again thanks
V2 cost 125.00dollars for the mount then the trim is 100.00$$ plus the lights. I am a disabled veteran an don't have it like that that is 225.00 before any light has been bought.Has some good things like them seat clamps stock suck always falling bump my cane against it an falls. So will be getting them. Fog light adapter 40.00 as well. I just want my wife truck to look good an last. These change the style an function big the Army even went to led tech.
I must admit those LED headlights do put out much better illumination. Very good job. But I have to really commend you on this video and its production value, it is superb. One question, how do you stop weather / rain getting into the truck from around the seven inch LED headlight ? I see a large space around the headlight and nothing between it and the front grille
Not exactly sure, but I know they are only temporarily out of stock. Lased Designs will stop taking new orders if they start getting more orders than they can handle. It should be only a few weeks at most.
Question.... The LED lights draw the same amount of current/wattage as the Halogen so there is no need for a relay (usually needed for increased amperage demand) So the only reason is for reversing polarity (or your option #2 using the polarity converters to reverse the polarity). Why not just move the pins on the adapter harness to the appropriate orientation? The pin already fell out of the adapter harness while you were doing the install so it should be real easy to swap. I have been considering buying these and would personally want just buy the weather pack connector and cut off the H4 plug on the light and wire on a H13 to plug in to factory. No additional harnesses, relays, fuses or adding a circuit to the battery post. Less things to fail while on the road or trail. This is what I did when i bought a pair of Rigid Amber D2 in my ARB bumper. I wanted to keep the Rigid light connector so i bought the male connector and pins online and cut off the trucks fog light connector and now the Rigid light pod plugs directly into the truck with a weather proof connector and no adapter harness or splice. Great videos by the way. Not to many people take the time to go into detail about projects like this, especially on vehicles the have as little support as our H3's

Hey man! Lased Designs is the only company that makes these adapters at the moment. I actually talked to the owner the other day and he says he is only stopping new orders for a week or two so he can catch up on current orders. After that, they should be back in stock!

For now I am going to be going with the 2nd wiring option which are those two little polarity boxes. Just curious to test them and see how they hold up after a while. That being said, I think option #1 is a bit more reliable. If the relays go bad on Harness #1, you can easily replace them, but if the little polarity converter boxes (Harness #2) goes bad, you will have to replace the whole unit, since you can't open it and replace of the internal components.
This is awesome I have 2006 h3 and want to do this. On ebay how do I tell which parts actually come with the unit and which need to be purchased? They show pics but listings are mostly confusing. I have some videos on my other account on radiator replacement. Shocks and some other things
Hi, i have a problem trying to get in my 2006 h3. The battery died & my doors are locked. The key hole to open wont turn. I tryed charging the battery still will not respond to key remote. Any suggestions besides asking the police or lock smith to slim jim the car??.

I'm confused of which lights you chose to go with? The halos or the projectors? The halos definitely look nice,with the daytime running and signal option, but I'm more for the functionality. Sometimes on my 2007 3.7 H3, I can't tell if my lights are on or off when driving on a road with street lights on. Time for an upgrade. Thanks for your tutorials!
Haha yeah. Well I think I am actually going to buy another pair of the dual projector lenses, with the turn signals and DRLS. Right now I have the ones with the drls because I needed to get some footage with them on.

I have a 2006 base model and thing is a beast. I am about to put an off road light package on it but this is what I have been looking for to convert to LED because the light issue. This was everything I needed, thank you for correct wiring and product links.

That's something that I would think about doing in the future. I do think that I need more subs and viewers for that to be realistic. From what I have seen only a very small percentage of viewers will donate to a channel, which is totally fine. I don't expect anyone watching to obligated to donate. Also I really do gotta get better with how much I upload. I currently have tons of different ideas that I would like to cover, but finding the time can be difficult at times. Down the road, I would really love to turn this into a part time or even full time job where I could actually have a dedicated amount of time each week to cover something new. Thanks for the great video! I had no idea someone made adapters. It would be nice if the adapters filled the part of the empty headlight cavity between the grille and around the headlight itself to prevent bugs, mud, etc, from building up. I plan on replacing my headlights in the future.
Haha yeah! The same people that made the adapter are working to make a cover. No word on price point yet, but there is a working prototype as of right now!

@@4lowmode Installed the fog light kit at the same time using the Lased Designs fog light brackets. Also went smoothly. Had to reverse the fog light connectors for them to work correctly. I also have a 2008 Alpha, Birch White.

WOW thank you so much your video really helped. The other four vehicles I have don't have to be dissembled to change a light bulb. My right turn signal and marker light went out. The engineers that designed this POS were really stupid and went out of their way to create spaces for rodents to live in. First they put a depression under that battery that is a perfect house for mice and rats. A ground squirrel died in the air cleaner after building a giant nest because of the easy access between the inner and outer fenders. Following your instructions to remove the grill I found out that between the plastic inner fender and plastic outer fender is a great space for rodents to live. That is why the squirrel decided on the air cleaner, there were too many other rodents in the other spaces. They chewed the wires to the side marker light and turn signal and other wires. I couldn't have created a better home for pack rats if I tried. Keeping the hood open did not help because the inner and outer fender space is a self contained habitat for rodents. Now it is apparent that they used that to get to the windshield wiper deck which we discovered was stuffed with mesquite beans when the windshield was replaced. I really appreciate your videos but I am selling this POS because I can't keep the critters out no matter what I do.
Glad you found use out of the tutorial! To be honest, in all my years of ownership of the H3 and reading forum threads about H3s, I haven't really heard that many problems about rodents burrowing into the H3. It could just be that you get a lot more rodents out where you live. To change out the marker and turn signal bulbs, you don't really need to take the grille out and remove the headlight assembly. You can actually access both of those bulbs by dropping the wheel wells to get access to them. The wheel wells are held in by a total of 10 plastic push clips. You can actually get away with taking about 6 or 7 of them out and then just bending the wheel well down so you don't have to take the entire thing out and then you can gain access to the bulbs.

Love the videos. Since I now know how to remove the grille guard, d rings, bumper and skid plate, I'm going to upgrade to halo head and fogs. Wish you could should a fog light replacement video (or just add to existing ones). Gonna change out the horn, turn signals and side markers while I'm at it. Can't wait for your next upload.

Yep they are pretty new! Much better option rather than trying to modify your stock OEM Headlights and fit a pair of 7in Headlights in them. I have seen that done before, but it looks like a pain and requires way too much work. These adapters allow you just to pop them right on!

@@MrCrf450rider In terms of brands, there is a huge price disparity between the cheaper lights that you can get on Amazon and the brand-name ones. As I mentioned in the video, the cheaper ones don’t really have an actual brand. What sellers will do is order them from Ali-Baba, stick a company name on them for branding purposes, but they really don't have an actual company behind them. These cheaper lights are still pretty good for the price, but I imagine in 5 to 10 years that the lenses may start to get hazy, but it is still cheaper to replace them again, then buying a brand name one. The brand name headlights will definitely hold up over time better and possibly come with a warranty, but the prices for these headlights usually start at around $400-$1000. One of the more common brand name ones you see are the JW Speaker Model 8700 J2 Black Headlights which are on Amazon right now from $449. This model was an original design that many of these cheap no-name brands copied the design from.

Love all your videos Man veryinformative recently got a 2008 video that had number for fan speed not work and realized that it had a recall on the little wiring harness behind the glove box on the passenger side and the dealer only replaced half of it the female side of the plug was still burnt you might do a video on that to let everyone know that both sides of that plugneed to be replaced it is in the parts directions at your mine was only half replaced. the pigtail
The female pigtail is available at your and must be spliced into the wiring harness on the female especially if your plug is burnt. The recall says could catch on fire apparently my plug had caught on fire and they only replaced the male side of the white plug on harness
@@billiebowling7755 Yes I am aware of that problem! I had that happen on my 2006 H3. I got it recalled and took it to the dealer. It worked for about 5 minutes and broke again and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Thanks for the tip though. I'll have to look into doing that!

You should grab a 7" Hella E-code H4 and throw that in with some Phillips Extreme Vision +130% bulbs. The cutoff and light pattern of those housings is second to none. Much better then any LED on the market. Plus cheaper then any quality LED.
That's an option as well! Since the bulbs for those aren't LED, no need for the polarity converters!

V2 cost 125.00dollars for the mount then the trim is 100.00$$ plus the lights. I am a disabled veteran an don't have it like that that is 225.00 before any light has been bought.Has some good things like them seat clamps stock suck always falling bump my cane against it an falls. So will be getting them. Fog light adapter 40.00 as well. I just want my wife truck to look good an last. These change the style an function big the Army even went to led tech.
I must admit those LED headlights do put out much better illumination. Very good job.

Not exactly sure, but I know they are only temporarily out of stock. Lased Designs will stop taking new orders if they start getting more orders than they can handle. It should be only a few weeks at most.

Question.... The LED lights draw the same amount of current/wattage as the Halogen so there is no need for a relay (usually needed for increased amperage demand) So the only reason is for reversing polarity (or your option #2 using the polarity converters to reverse the polarity). Why not just move the pins on the adapter harness to the appropriate orientation? The pin already fell out of the adapter harness while you were doing the install so it should be real easy to swap. I have been considering buying these and would personally want just buy the weather pack connector and cut off the H4 plug on the light and wire on a H13 to plug in to factory. No additional harnesses, relays, fuses or adding a circuit to the battery post. Less things to fail while on the road or trail. This is what I did when i bought a pair of Rigid Amber D2 in my ARB bumper. I wanted to keep the Rigid light connector so i bought the male connector and pins online and cut off the trucks fog light connector and now the Rigid light pod plugs directly into the truck with a weather proof connector and no adapter harness or splice. Great videos by the way. Not to many people take the time to go into detail about projects like this, especially on vehicles the have as little support as our H3's

Hey man! Lased Designs is the only company that makes these adapters at the moment. I actually talked to the owner the other day and he says he is only stopping new orders for a week or two so he can catch up on current orders. After that, they should be back in stock!

The H2 does not need any adapters or harnesses. They are plug and play.

Awesome job on the videos! Keep it up! I am curious as to which harness option you ended up with.
For now I am going to be going with the 2nd wiring option which are those two little polarity boxes. Just curious to test them and see how they hold up after a while. That being said, I think option #1 is a bit more reliable. If the relays go bad on Harness #1, you can easily replace them, but if the little polarity converter boxes (Harness #2) goes bad, you will have to replace the whole unit, since you can't open it and replace of the internal components.

Hi, i have a problem trying to get in my 2006 h3. The battery died & my doors are locked. The key hole to open wont turn. I tryed charging the battery still will not respond to key remote. Any suggestions besides asking the police or lock smith to slim jim the car??.

Have you used or heard of any other adapters to install the headlights and fog lights on the Hummer H3 other than Lased Design?
I'm confused of which lights you chose to go with? The halos or the projectors? The halos definitely look nice,with the daytime running and signal option, but I'm more for the functionality. Sometimes on my 2007 3.7 H3, I can't tell if my lights are on or off when driving on a road with street lights on. Time for an upgrade. Thanks for your tutorials!
Haha yeah. Well I think I am actually going to buy another pair of the dual projector lenses, with the turn signals and DRLS. Right now I have the ones with the drls because I needed to get some footage with them on.
