I just watched another video on Insider and they explain he uses a lot of programs including 3D generators. I was kind of bummed that he relies so heavily on the computer to design the stuff. The more the machine the less the human art component.

probably depends on the weight of what is being hung, but you could probably get away with fishing wire or string for light weight things.
