Gotta say sometimes I miss the old format of the videos with the talking hands. With that format you could see a little bit more the watch and their size with something as a reference.
That’s a very clever way to introduce a watch by first enumerating the types of people for whom the watch isn’t intended. Even if a person hasn’t the slightest inclination for the design, you are drawing them in as you elaborate on its features and functions. Very clever and entertaining indeed! Well done 🥃
XERIC Makes these at this price point to. Little nicer too.
they mentioned xeric once, don't know which video but they did 😉
Agreed. And better yet it's 40.5mm unlike this brick
These are actually much better made.. I own both
Seeing this last night, you made me spend 1650 just in time for the launch 😂. This is unreal!
Out of curiosity, hows the watch holding up? Thoughts on it?
@@GamerFR3D99 it’s absolutely fantastic. It’s on my desk literally right now, I wear it constantly. The casework is well designed and wears smaller than you’d think. And the wandering hours complication is just a joy to play with, it’s a conversation starter for sure.
@@GamerFR3D99 it is absolutely phenomenal, honestly. Keeps time very well, withstands daily bangs and scratches well, what a sleeper
All watches are made in Computer controlled machines now. So in a moderate quantity, the price of a watch, even a nice one, can be very reasonable. That is why the Chinese make their watches affordable. However, they are not cheap in quality anymore. While super clone watches are distasteful to many, they really show the obscene profits made by the Swiss.
But hey, if you have that much cash to throw around, by all means buy overpriced ( but very beautiful ) watches. I only buy a Swiss watch at a deep discount.
Great video!
Atowak's offerings so far remind me of the recent development of phones with folding screens: I'm very interested in the design and technology, but will be a lot more tempted to spend that kind of money once they can improve the overall quality.
Flip phones aren't better. Trust me.
Seeing this video I just had to pick one up!
I have my eye on an £85 watch where the dial is split into three rotating disks which turn at three different speeds while a stationary pointer shows you where on the face is reading the time. Just nice to have something a bit original rather than expensive
Like the MB & F Bulldog?
An early "digital" watch design.
And yes, I know it's not really digital, it's what they were called though.
The Phantasos - also a China special - is cheaper, does the same thing, looks better, and comes in more colours. See also the Xeric, though thats also a bit busy too.
Is the phantasos worth it? how does it hold?
i thouth of xeric too they cost cheaper
@@TalhaMalik89 Half a year and still ticking. But even a rolex may fail...
Looks like you are drunk. Haha. The Atowak looks sooooo much better.
Most of the cost of a product is not the product itself that the buyer ends up with. Research, marketing, facilities, shareholder compensation, wholesaler and retailer mark-ups...
Chinese firms have a few extra benefits like lower rents, wages and compliance costs
For many watches the costs of finishing can be the most expensive production cost
Then there's the Veblen cost. If Urwerk could sell their watches for, say, $50k they might not find any buyers
Absolutely fantastic job atowak, reverse engineering is no easy task and on top of it providing the same concept in much cheaper price range is just like Indian food! Cooking smell while doing a review 😀
In a world where most watches look like a copy of something else these and xeric are doing things a bit different at a cost that a lot of people can afford, I love them and will get one of these or xeric
Thats a very cool warch. ❤❤❤❤
As far as ‘Out There’ watches go,I quite like it.
I’d like a Pac-a-mac
I'm inspired by your video... but I might be inspired to buy a Xeric.
Isn’t like buying a watch looking like a submariner, but with an unknown brand ? Up to individual whether you want the generic or the original.
I do love avant-garde watches...
You think 42mm is a large watch? 😂😂😂
Got a phantasos, that was also reviewed here, with the same reference to the uhrwerk. Looks better in terms of quality and much smaller and cheaper too...
Yeah, it's $600 cheaper and looks it. This Atowak makes that Phantasios look like it showed up at the wrong Pitch, for the wrong sport.
Olto 8 just launched a wandering hour watch for $370. You certainly don't need to spend $200.000
Atowak: "Oh Vacheron, it's time for your hourly stomping"
Vacheron Constantin: "Yes dear..."
The people saying telling the time is hard obviously don't have a wandering hours watch or can't imagine well enough. Wandering hours are really easy to read -- it's essentially a mechanically powered digital display of the time
I don't want an Urwerk. I want to be able to tell the time
Never right your script when you smell Indian food cooking! TRUE that!!
I like these, but at that price it's still too expensive. When I wanted a wandering hour watch, I bought a Xeric Scrambler. Maybe these will make a good pre-owned buy.
yeah, but the xeric scrambler looks like crap tho
@@mickeyromeo well that's just like your opinion, man
What makes this watch so cheap while the Urwerk is so expensive?
It's a witch!
Now If they could shrink the case to something more reasonable.....
Not that big actually. The measurements seem to be exactly the same as an Omega SMP.
It's fine actually
What do you mean Andrew? It rotates clockwise A.K.A. the correct way 😂
It could be from left to right tho, if the minute track was on top part of the case.
I guess the smell of Indian food is distracting you 😂
That was a shameless, and thinly veiled challenge to the company...you KNOW they are listening 😂
Every watch has an Uhrwerk , it just means clock mechanics..
Nice
Except 3 hand "regular" watches are so boring, if I spend 2k on a watch it needs to be special
Cool
A watch for the person that really likes to work to figure out what time it is.
Or one who has intelligence enough not make such a dumb ass statement!
Well for one, the $200k watch isn't worth $200k in the first place...
Most watch channels neglect to give a reality check when it comes to price. 200K can buy a real piece of engineering like a Porsche!
Just $1,649 for this absolute abomination of a watch? Fair play.
Dumb comment. Great looking watch
I would never buy a copy even though it’s price. If I could I will pay the effort of engineering, not for reverse engineering.
And if not, I could always pay pre-owned at a price I could afford.
Nevertheless, a good video Andrew.
I like it coz I like Urwerk but not gonna buy a stolen design
Nice but way to big.
Haha indian food true
MIYOTA 9039 has accuracy of -10 to +30 seconds a day…
RM's have to be serviced every 6 months. I love the ridiculousness of it even more
You guys in the watch world that pretend to be expert: if you talk about perceived quality then please characterise it with facts and data and proofs. Otherwisely said: don't measure if you can not measure.
Please go back to the old format with talking hands
Urwerk is overpriced in my opinion
If it were 10bucks I would get it and give it to a neighbour dog to chew
Same could be said about your....
@@vvvhhhhhbb and your...
that watch is garbage
NOPE! No cheesy low quality Chinese imitation clunker in my collection. Embarrassing looks and expensive too.
"embarrassing looks" just like an urwerk - but not nearly as expensive. But everyone should do what is ok for him (or her).
Spoken like a true American!
Right. It's better to pay a few 100k for an original swiss clunker to a greedy swiss company.
How do you know it's low quality? Don't tell me it's because you think all chinese-made stuff are low quality. In that case, you can walk around your house and try throw out all made in China things.
Another side gig from the Watchfinder crew. Only the faux British Aristo does more undisclosed paid shilling. OK Ciao!!
$1649 is what the $200k urwerk should be priced. fortunately for urwerk, there are still a lot of suckers around. lmao.
Too many suckers out there…lol
cant help but notice you have lots of similar watches to Urwek than urwek watches 🥲😅
