Thank you so much for the update. So sad to see it. It was powerful seeing the before and after pictures. I read online that the rooms in the pool house building were suppose to be hosting guest again on Tuesday (I think yesterday, the 9th). Appreciate you sharing this so much! ❤
Wow, it’s amazing how it changed the lay of the land. It looks so different now. It doesn’t seem that long ago that they remodeled the office and the connecting rooms with that beautiful brick front, but time flies. I’m sure whatever they replace it with will be beautiful as well. Thanks for showing us this.
So sad... This is the 2nd tourist property in the area to be affected by fire. Part of the Hershey farm property burned down some years ago. I wonder if it was ever restored?
@@oskie316 The Hershey Farm Restaurant is being restored and is on schedule to open next month - May of 2024!!! Sooo exciting! And they have rebuilt it extreme style! Added more layers of eating and shopping so it’s going to be amazing! There was also another fire at the Amish View Inn and Suites but was contained to one floor/area I believe. It all is sad for sure.
@@ElleLiving Well I'm excited too! We look forward to the New Hershey Farms and we'll also pray that these fires will stop and for a speedy recovery for Bird in hand.
That's horrible. My daughter and I were planning to stay at the Family Inn in September. My prayers for the woman who lost her life and for her family as well.
Yes I was so sad to see it but wanted to see it nonetheless. It was worse than I imagined. And it is awful that their employees died. We have reservations for October but I hope by then part of the front rooms will be open. But it seems they will just put us in the pool building rooms if not. ♥️🙏
They use to have a walk around Christmas light display that goes around the pond on the walkway years ago, but I haven’t checked there recently. Do they still have them?
good coverage Dani. damage looks worse than I thought. terrible thing. going down in a couple weeks but our usual place is having major renovations due to the fire they had last year. not sure if we want to deal with that so thinking about the KKV rooms that you featured in one your past vids. best wishes as always, jimmy and laurie.
Hi Jimmy! So nice to hear from you 😊 It is crazy how 3 major hotels have had a fire of some sort the past 2 years. And yes I would highly recommend trying KKV - they have a lot of good options. Some for just a couple or some for a larger parties. It was very comfortable!! And I know what you mean. The damage was worse than I thought too. So very sad. I’m looking forward to hearing how they will move on. Take care, both of you ♥️🙏
We were just in Lancaster on December 20 and being busy with the holidays we didn't know what happen in Bird In Hand.I just thought they were doing remodeling. Sorry to hear about woman that lost her life there. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to her family 🙏
I was out there in December a couple days after it happened. It was so sad to see it destroyed. I have some great memories at that hotel. One year when we were there, there was something for kids to play on the front lawn and there was an Amish father and his kids playing, my son went over and joined them and we got to talk to the dad for awhile. It was such a nice experience.
I had no idea it was that bad. It was part of the landscape that I thought would always be there. Hope the rebuild is quick and would like to see some type of acknowledgement of the person that lost there life and photos of the old building. Thanks for being our eyes on the ground. Ever thought about learning to fly a drone?
Hi there ☺️ I didn’t get this notification till today so sorry about that. Well on Fridays you can go to both the Green Dragon Farmers market in Ephrata and the Bird-in-Hand Farmers market. Shady Maple, Dienners , Katie’s Kitchen, the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant and Oregon Dairy Restaurant all come highly recommended from me. Strasburg had a lot of train stuff in and around town. Amish Experience and the Amish Village are both still operation I believe but double check. Also discoverlancaster.com is a great resource. I also have lots of other videos that feature lots of places :) Kitchen Kettle Village is a great place to stop and see local flare and shop
Thanks, Lisa, yes my firefighter friend told me about it early yesterday. It’s so awful 😢 Hopefully there isn’t too much u damage. I hope you can enjoy your time nonetheless. Thanks again for reaching out :)

It was such a beautiful part of their property, I agree. I am so much looking forward to them being able to start rebuilding. 🙏♥️
So sad. Great memories of a wonderful place. Hope they put it all back together.
Me too ♥️🙏

Yes I know what you are talking about but don’t know if they still do. I’m checking on it for you :)
I heard back - they said they only did that for the first 2-3 years after they opened the mini golf course :). So not currently ☺️
