Wow! Never seen anyone use 2 razors at the same time. Those were some serious skills. I enjoy how you implement the nice backgrounds in your videos. Sets the mood and stands out. Beautiful razors and smooth looking shave. Have a great weekend Geo. God bless.
Thanks very much Frank for noticing and commenting! I've been making the videos for about 8 years and constantly try to improve the lighting, scenery, background, sound, etc. All the best to you.
Started my DE journey with the DE89BL but have moved to the 34C. The latter feels slightly more aggressive and is my preference. The 34C is an awesome razor.
WOW! 2 at the same time! Impressive! You put the G in Gentleman! Love your channel. You have class & skill. Love all the details. I’ve learned so much.
@SCAR Axerson 3rd IC right now im using some 12 dollar bamboo safety razor 3 piece off amazon and it works very good. I lost the interest in buying a new razor cause this one does a pretty nice job. maybe i just got lucky
For sure you are the master shaver, wow, using both simoultanesly. Its good to see y back, its been little quiet in the past. This new approach with the mediterrean background (likely Sicilly?) is great, a warm welcome to the odd bathroom scenarious, we're getting tired of... Also reviewing the 'good old ones' is fantastic, one is getting tired of keeping track with all the new razors, soaps et cetera. Wishing y good sales, as always yrs, Achim+
Thanks very much Achim. Agreed, even I get tired of seeing the same bathroom walls in my videos. Just trying to keep it fresh! Thanks for noticing and commenting.
I love all your video's! I am a newby to wet shaving, and what a great source of information you provide. Keep up the great work you do for the wet shaving community. Oh, and by the way, You're just rubbing it in in how good you are!
Started my DE journey with the 23C but was disappointed how I couldn’t get a close enough shave with 3 passes (was too mild). Moved up to the Muhle R41 and that gets baby smooth after 1 to 2 passes.
That's understandable, the 23C is a mild to medium razor while the R41 is a certified beast of a razor. I also love it's efficiency and the fact that it only takes me one pass with a little cleanup for a BBS shave.
I have both of these razors, but I also have a Merkur 25C open comb that I use much more than either of these. All three are excellent, however, each to their own. Merkur razors are just simply excellent, whichever one you pick you won't be disappointed !! Get good blades though, Astra are superb for value and performance BTW. Don't be wary of the open comb guys it's much safer than you think, I promise !!
Another great review, geo. When I first switched over from cartridges to safety razor, I went with the 34c and don't regret the decision for a moment. It's a fantastic razor that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Love the videos, started watching your videos a while back and learned from your videos how to shave with a straight razor. Now I have three DOVD and one Boker straight razor. Love the videos and love straight razor shaving. Just picked up some items from your shop today! Thanks and keep up the videos!
Wow! Shaving with 2 razors at the same time. Smooth move! I shave with the 34C and Astra greens as well. 👍. Have a great shave. Have a great day! Cheers
Geo. I am new to DE shaving and have enjoyed your videos to get me started. I bought the 34c and have shaved 3 times now with mixed results. I am still finding the best soap/blade/technique for me. I don't have to, and don't like to shave often.. maybe every 5-6 days, and i generally have a pretty good stubble by then. I wonder if an open comb (15c) might be better.. even if just for the first pass? Having trouble getting a good shave without irritation currently. Thanks.
Sir, are both razor head same ?mean blade gap are same? If I ignore long handle or short handle. Are both performance same or equal? please reply me . Thanks
Need to pick up a 34c, I have the Futur, Digress HD, 37c, 45c and travel razor. My goto razor is my Rockwell 6s with the Digress a close second. Nice video, cheers Geo.
I think I’ll go with shorter handle.. 34c. I’m going to be using it for head shaving only.. shorter handle will help me with control when doing back of my head.
geofatboy it was my 1st shave using a DE razor... loved it. I’ll be shaving again today so more practice getting the angles right. I ended up going for the 34G gold version.
Hey, Geo, I have a question- so it looks like both of those razors have pretty much the exact same head shape and design, so does that mean that they have the same amount of aggressiveness / efficiency? Just wondering if there is any difference in performance or if the only difference is simply handle preference. Thanks!
I'll take that as a compliment! I'd venture to say that if someone wanted to learn how to do it, practicing without the blade would be the best way to get started on the ambidextrous shaving journey.
oh man you are really scaring me a lot mr geo...i should begin by saying im looking to transition from a 5 blade cartridge to a safety razor aand i have to say i have cerebral palsy and looking at you with 2 blades at a time i must say you are the man i have visions in my head why i would cut myself like a stuck pig. With that said I think the 34c would be better for me it has training wheels and easier to change blades for me personally and you taught me about the pink goop and stone. However for me i use the cremo shaving cream i repect shaving soaps but there are to many steps involved to use that for me. You make excellent videos i always learn a lot :)
Positano, Italy in the background, right? I love the dual shaving, something I haven’t tried and doubt that I do... so your daily shaver is a 34 c ? I am impressed. Thanks for sharing this video
Thanks Bryan. The 34C was my daily shaver for a long time. Now I switch between a lot of different safety and straight razors to try new ones and keep it fresh.
Is the 34c better for beginners and less aggressive? Or are they about the same.. Id like something with a longer handle in case i wanted to shave other spots like the back of my neck etc... is there a model with a longer handle that you recommend to beginners
Wholly cow!! Double fisted shaving! You could probably shave with a piece of broken glass! Geo, you never cease to amaze me...love your demonstrations!! Ciao, Bello :)

Alright so I’ve started using a straight razor a while back and have had great luck out of it. Using it with no irritation and cuts. So I bought a safety razor to try aswell. I’ve had no luck so far with the safety razor. Out of 4 shaved I’ve only had two with a couple cuts and light irritation. The other two times have had bad irritation and several cuts!!!! Your welcome Geo. I can sure see the improvements. Thanks.
That technic is saving a lot of time. Awesome!
Omg, didn’t expect that simultaneous shaving! Geo is the wizard of wet shaving-period!
Thanks Dimitar!
Geofatboy olympics! That was some flawless synchronized shaving right there! I’d like to see the other popular UA-cam shavers do this!
Maybe we can make it a new category in the Olympics... Summer or winter?
Simultaneous shave! You're just showing off now Geo.
Just trying to keep the video under 10 minutes 😎
Bragging rights! Haha
Started my DE journey with the DE89BL but have moved to the 34C. The latter feels slightly more aggressive and is my preference. The 34C is an awesome razor.
I feel that those two razors shave very similarly. I'm glad to hear your opinion on them.
Geo is the Yoda of DE shaving. Huge respect and thanks for knowledge = you are a fantastic teacher. Cheers.
WOW! 2 at the same time! Impressive! You put the G in Gentleman! Love your channel. You have class & skill. Love all the details. I’ve learned so much.
I have both, the 34C and the 23C long handle. I love both! I also use them with the Astra SS blades.
Sounds like a winning combination!
Would you say there is a difference in the blade exposure/aggressiveness between the two? Or is the 23C pretty forgiving and mild like the 34C?
which is better for beginners or less aggressive etc?
@SCAR Axerson 3rd IC right now im using some 12 dollar bamboo safety razor 3 piece off amazon and it works very good. I lost the interest in buying a new razor cause this one does a pretty nice job. maybe i just got lucky
Astra works best for me on the 34C
Oh my! When you said both razors, I thought one after the other. It was never expected you meant a shave simultaneously. Amazing. Congratulations.
For sure you are the master shaver, wow, using both simoultanesly. Its good to see y back, its been little quiet in the past. Does just a 1 pass leave stubble?
Just ordered a 34c the other day, been using a 24 c. Loved your two handed shave.
This is EXACTLY the review I was looking for. Thank you so much. Going for my first DE razor ever.
The 34 c is a great razor it's the 1 I use. Tried others but 34c works for me.👍
Great razor. I've been enjoying mine for about 10 years.
I agree
Hi Geo- Tandem shaving! Beautiful to watch! Thank you for the comparison video and review. Take care and enjoy the weekend. Best regards!
Thanks Mike! Take care.
Doubled barrel razor shave, you don't see many of those with out blood. Good job Geo!
Thanks Ron!
Another great review, geo. When I first switched over from cartridges to safety razor, I went with the 34c and don't regret the decision for a moment. It's a fantastic razor that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Love the vid...two hands, two razors :-)) Your video's were instrumental in getting me to start wet shaving years ago. Thanks a bunch!
I prefer the... 38C for the long handle and the weight ! 🤣 Amazing shave dimostration. Best regards from Venice
Thank you Ciceri! Hope all is well in Italia.
Cheers
Thanks Kevin! Just practicing the old manual dexterity.
Thanks.
An open comb, a slant, an adjustable, all would give you a more aggressive shave.
That double razor technique is insane!
Thanks Dawg!
The Last Shave Master. Great shave and demo.
Thanks for the nice comment!
You handled those razors like the true Spartan you are. Love the videos, keep them coming.
Sir, are both razor head same ?mean blade gap are same? If I ignore long handle or short handle. Are both performance same or equal? please reply me . Thanks
Hello, Sir, do you ship products to INDIA.
What type of alum block is that?!

@@geofatboy thank you sir
Need to pick up a 34c, I have the Futur, Digress HD, 37c, 45c and travel razor. My goto razor is my Rockwell 6s with the Digress a close second. Nice video, cheers Geo.
Sounds like you have a very nice collection there Roy! Pardon my ignorance, but what is a Digress? Some sort of modified Progress razor?
geofatboy It is a modified Progress 510 with a brass adjuster.
I think I’ll go with shorter handle.. 34c. I’m going to be using it for head shaving only.. shorter handle will help me with control when doing back of my head.
How'd that work out?
geofatboy it was my 1st shave using a DE razor... loved it. I’ll be shaving again today so more practice getting the angles right. I ended up going for the 34G gold version.

Excellent shave Geo I have the 38C and it is an amazing safety razor. All the best Jarryd.💈💈💈💈👍
Thanks Jarryd, I love the beefy barber pole handle on the 38C.
Jesus.
Double holster gun slinger.
Not seen that since the last John Wayne movie i watched.
Respect.
Great review geo and using 2 razors at the same time nice one
Thanks much Barry!
I am still getting my chin cut . I have the 34 c. . Razer burn on it . I am only on shave 4 . . Ok . I know I am learning. I need help . Thanks .
I just ordered a Geo's "Everything You Need" safety razor kit from Shave Nation because of this video.
Hey, Geo, I have a question- so it looks like both of those razors have pretty much the exact same head shape and design, so does that mean that they have the same amount of aggressiveness / efficiency? Just wondering if there is any difference in performance or if the only difference is simply handle preference. Thanks!
Just got into this kind of shaving with a 23c, looks like I will be getting a 34.
Can the handles be swapped between the two?
Not these two razors. The 23C is a 3-Piece and the 34C is a 2-piece razor.
Hahaha. Sooooo cool. Never ever saw such kind of shave. You are my shaving Sensei now and forever! 😁😁😁
Thanks Jens! Years of practice...
I have observed that three piece razor will give more shave and close shave than two piece razor. is that true?
Is one more aggressive than the other?
That's a skill !
I know a guy who paints like that. A brush in each hand!
Thanks! Artist or house painter?
Great shave, do both use the same blade gap in the head?
How did u not cut yourself with those, are you following any technique for that
Well you are Mr. Miyagi and I am just the karate kid. Awesome job with the dual razor shave man!
From now on I will refer to you as Daniel Son!
could you compare the merkur CC head to R89 head?
You’re a genuine madman. I would look like leatherface if I did that.
I'll take that as a compliment! I'd venture to say that if someone wanted to learn how to do it, practicing without the blade would be the best way to get started on the ambidextrous shaving journey.
geofatboy it was most certainly a compliment. You are a great shaver to watch. And that’s a great idea about practicing without blades.
Premo 117 I am still learning . My chin is bad . Cuts and razer burn . I have the 34 c . . This will only be my 4th shave . I do not want to give up .
Sierra 117 😂
In my country, the 23c is 20% cheaper than the 34c. is it worth it the extra bucks? one of this Will be my first safety razor

The Edwin Jagger DE89 has a longer handle than the 34c and they shave the same.
Geo, I have been watching your videos for a long time, but just happened to see this one for the first time. Super cool, humbled, hands down!
Personally with my tough beard I'd opt for the 25C. Wow, shaving with 2 razors at once, that's badass! Wish I could get away with that lol!
what is the price of 34c razor?
are they both closed comb?
Wholly cow!! Double fisted shaving! You could probably shave with a piece of broken glass! Geo, you never cease to amaze me...love your demonstrations!! Ciao, Bello :)
Gracie Vincenzo! Much appreciated.
Are they having the exact same head???
Aren't you supposed to only keep the alum on your skin for a couple of minutes and then wash it off?
Excellent.. unprecedented .. never seen such skills. Awesome. I am going to order 34C right now.
Thanks Yassir!

Cinque Terre
Ah...should have known!
I prefer the 23c it’s 3 piece and pleasant to disassemble and dry after use. The 34c is an awkward design where the baseplate is simply fused onto the handle and it just looks and feels awkward
Interesting. I prefer the 2-piece design to the 3
@geofatboy
it's a VERSUS video and not second you talk about the efficency of one the razor or which one give you a closer shave or which one gave you a more comfortabable shave and that's what we want to hear about in this kind of video. (I hope my comment was constructive)

Just changed from the 34c, a great razor, to the 37c slant an even better razor.
Yep definitely underrated. Very efficient but also incredibly gentle.

Hi Sheldon! I'm thinking of getting my first Merkur! Currently I use the Van Der Hagen that got many of us into this nice world haha
