In Philippines style you could have used the pressure switch from a washing machine to turn the pump on and off, and got someone to wire it up for you :)

You pretty much worked it out in the end. Looks like the pipework has been "adapted" Philippine style from how the tank fed system was originally installed,but hey ho, it does what you want.
I make a point of shopping at Wilcon instead of Citi. The Wilcon staff have a much better attitude and are super helpful. In Davao at least, paying for anything at the Citi check out takes a while, very frustrating when you have one small item.
You need to remember that the bladder in the tank needs to be checked regularly like every three months! That’s only when there is no pressure coming out of the taps. Leave a tap open when you charge up the accumulator with the power off of course! The recommended air pressure in the tank is normally 2 psi lower than the cut in pressure! Ideally the pressure should be around 28 psi. This was my trade for thirty five years. So hopefully I should know what I’m talking about!
Maybe put in an extension tank under your cupboard after your filtration. Put your water tank on a float switch so it will turn off when tank outside is full. Plenty of options 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Please sort those cables out for the pump (new correctly rated cable) in that wet area and check its overload and RCD protected as well, (UK electrician) cant ignore the danger to you all. Not a criticism Alan.😊👍
Are the drinking water barrels filled up in some else's kitchen from the tap👍🤣😂🤣😂 the filter system you've shown is very good if maintained. Change all the filters and the water should be as clean as your barrel 👍 when the water tower runs dry give it a good clean out with a bit of chlorine and flush it all through the pipes 👍

used to be a similar issue with the boat. Water tank isnt the best for drinking. used it for showers and washing. Similar way of life on the boat mate. Teaches you to save, and be more resourceful with resources.

They do a simple hot shower of death in the Philippines. It’s a basic plastic shower head like all over the world but the cunning method of heating the water is to have an uninsulated heating element inside the head, it’s just a coil spring with a live one end and a neutral the other which come out of the back of the head and are often taped to the live and N sticking out the wall, the Live and N are not designated and the head is not earthed , why bother, it’s all plastic, So if the N were disconnected beyond the shower head for whatever reason, the person getting showered becomes the Neutral return, and I’ve felt a bit of tingling while showering as some of the current must be leaking through the water even in normal operation, a truly invigorating experience could befall you at any second. I could t believe my eyes when I opened one up and saw an open coil spring heater . Almost nothing is grounded. Things come with a ground lead or a big label saying this appliance must be grounded but certainly in any less than almost new building there’s no earth connections. They also do a simple weight loss treatment called ice cubes, I had them in an orange juice in Manila, and paid the price. I didn’t really need to lose a stone but had no choice, being unable to tell which hole the high pressure liquid was coming out of as I stood under the live shower and washed it all away as it came out. Another brilliant thing is being on a coach on a night trip and being reminded of the ending of the Italian Job where the coach goes over the side. Alterations to the kerb to widen the carriageway but leaving the tree that was in the footway where it was, now in the carriageway. The tricycle where the sidecar welds snapped and the side car fell off and the blind man fell out on the road in Manila, unhurt. One enduring experience is getting bitten, there’s a million things that can bite you if you leave a tiny bit of skin exposed from the net, and some of them don’t heal for months. But it’s a great place.
Add to your stuff to order online - Self amalgamating tape, it will not go gooey and and come unstuck like cheap black tape does, it is not sticky but welds its self together !

I believe the barrels are filled up with river water and packaged as good to drink🤣I don't actually know but not been sick drinking it yet😬
