I think your switch over is my actual favourite, also…. Can we just all agree that labelling the jeans shelves is the best idea! I’m calling it things from my retail days that I use in real life 😂
Oh mah gahd! It’s officially Spring, Emma Hill has switched over her wardrobe! 🎉🎉. Thank you for continuing to make these seasonal videos for those of us who still remember the bendy trouser rail days!
Winding down on a Sunday arvo here in Melbourne… a cup of coffee and the Only wardrobe switch over video I look forward to annually! 😊 great idea with the labels Emma, I can so relate with the denim jeans!
Wow Emma this is one of the best wardrobe organising videos I’ve ever watched. Really thorough and so easy to implement .Thank you for the inspiration😊
Great idea Emma to have four seasonal switchovers instead of the usual two! Makes so much sense. Love the labelling of the jeans shelves into type of fit as well. You're right! You can never tell what sort of fit they are when they're folded up. Can't wait to see the new Disney storage hack as well! Happy Sunday to you, Simon and the Bs! Xxx
Thank you so much! I kept your video for the end of the day, it is relaxing and inspiring. Your wardrobe is so realistic, sometimes I see videos where there are wardrobes as big as apartments and there is no need to do the switch over..I have always thought I was the only one having storage boxes for the different seasons and seeing that you , the best organized woman in the world, do the same comforts me. I find very true what you say: having not too many things on the shelves helps you in deciding your outfit. So true! Goodnight! 😴 ❤
Calm, collected and I adore how your content has changed such as much as you've as well, as your style and home interiors! An absolute joy, thank you so much Emma.
I used to do this on a yearly basis, but found it exhausting. So I converted another closet to have a warm weather and cold weather clothes and this makes me very happy.
I have been saving this video as a treat to watch when it was time to do my own wardrobe switchover! I have a smaller (and much less stylish) wardrobe but funnily, I also switched from a bi-annual switchover to a quarterly swap this year! Where I live, there is a big difference between the clothes I wear in the cooler months of spring and autumn and what I need for the summer and winter extremes. Swapping more frequently helps to save space and makes it easier to get dressed each day for the weather I actually have.
Whoopee! Now 4 switches a year and not 2! How wonderful for us (sorry for the work for you tho Emma!). I love these and can’t wait to see the new ikea island video ❤️❤️❤️. All the love , Pip x
Absolutely my fave time(s) of the year. Watching your switchover vids is practically therapy lol I started my switch over at beginning of April. Took a couple of weekends to steam all my coats and heavy sweaters and put them away. Did a clothing swap/donation event with friends so purged a couple of garbage bags' worth of pieces I no longer love. This coming week, I'm finishing up with switching over my light/midweight sweaters and footwear. Temps are still in the teens (celsius) here but in the last week, I've worn long dresses with jean jacket, short sleeve tops with pants, so that's me firmly committing to warmer weather days ahead. Thanks as always for sharing and doing these vids!
Spring is the hardest, some days are very cold and some days are warm. I am in Northern California today is cold and rainy 2 days ago was sunny and warm. I have to keep some winter and summer cloth out.
I did a partial switchover of my wardrobe yesterday, at least I packed away my wool dresses. We still get days cold enough for woolie sweaters through as late as mid-June some years. But we’ve had everything from low 50sF stormy days to nearly 80F clear ones here in San Francisco in the last few weeks. Spring is so changeable everywhere, instead of a gradual warmup, we seem to get alternating periods of warm, then cold weather. Once I get all my wool/cashmere items stored, I’ll have a lot more room in my closet, they are so bulky. I love all your videos, thanks, Emma.❤❤❤
Good morning Emma ☀️ such a pleasure to watch your seasonal wardrobe switchover. I’m inspired by your ideas on folding and organizing! It really makes getting ready easier when items are well organized and in reach. I love the idea of a central island for storage and folding. Looking forward to seeing this hack 😊
This is so satisfying to watch. Amazing organisation skills, Emma! I think the additional switch is also a great idea with this forever changing weather. Looking forward to your next ikea hack!
We love these switch over videos ! Thanks to you I bought my first Ikea Pax this week and I couldn't be more happy, it's so cleverly made and convenient ! (I didn't do it before because I was afraid it was going to be ugly - I live in Paris and my flat is small, I don't have room for ugly stuff ;-)) - , and it's absolutely not ;-) Thank you so much for inspiring us Emma !
Always love watching your seasonal switch over, never gets old and there’s always something new to take from it. Loving the pops of colour in the Disney section 😍
Thank you soooo much for your content! I have been following your strategy as to the wardrobe for over a year, and it has really been a game changer for me (for example, the strategy "sell to buy", which helped me to sell over a hundred items which I kept who knows why and buy only 20 items which I love and wear). Have a nice day 💞
Sitting with a cup of coffee , watching your video is so relaxing and a good start for a sunday morning 😊. Thank you both for this one and enjoy your sunday👌
I’m in Melbourne, Australia and last spring we had only had a handful of warm days where i could wear lighter-weight clothes. Luckily I only bought a few new pieces of clothing in preparation for a Spring, and most new pieces could be worn trans-seasonally. Going forward, I’ll keep buying trans seasonal pieces as the weather has become so unpredictable 😊
I agree. Pieces that can be worn over more than one season are definitely the best purchases. I could have got out my linen trousers and shirts as it’s definitely been warm enough to wear those over the last few days but we’re due a cooler snap next week so I’m happy with the switch I did for now 🙌🏼
I always look forward to these! I already did a switchover with all my summer clothes and just caught myself looking longingly at my high summer dresses 😅😊
I’ve done a very similar switch this year. I was finding the total changeover far too overwhelming, and frankly, exhausting! I’ll be interested to see how it works for you too😊. Thanks, as always, for sharing, Emma!
Love your switchover videos (and all of your videos really)! I would also love to see how you reduce your clothing and shoe collections (aka declutter 😜). I have such a hard time letting go of things.
Did you do a closet sale? Feels so calming to see a bit less stuff. Anyway, aaaaalways so happy that we do this switchover together 🥰 And happier that we will get a few more switchovers this year, yeep yeeep!!
This kind of video is always so nice! :) looks so good, i'm not a neutrals kind of guy. i'm more the merier with colour and a nice patorn . But your style is so well thout out .
This motivates me organize my closet better, although I wish I had this amount of room for my clothes 😂 also: would love to know where you big dark striped woven bag is from, looks so good!
I've decided I'm going to switch over this weekend, regardless of the weather. It's like the weather is playing a joke on us though. 😢 One day it's 23 degrees and the next is 10 degrees and rain for days
nice video, I have a question, I'm looking for a blazer, I don't have one in my closet yet, is dark blue (viscose blend) or gray (merino wool) is a better choice, thank you!
To be honest it’s down to personal preference. Merino wool is beautiful, luxurious and durable, this is why we chose to use this fabric for my blazers with The Curated. However viscose is also a great fabric. I think it’s always a good idea to consider the style, colour, wearability, laundering etc of each blazer and not just the fabric content x
Do you usually do a declutter before switching over? I have so many clothes I didn’t touch in last season and don’t know if I will touch them again next year. Putting them away take too much space 😢
I usually make minor adjustments, decluttering whatever I haven’t used but last year I did a pretty big one. It definitely makes sense to sell or donate anything you don’t use or no longer want 🙌🏼
You are a brilliant organizser and 12:38 so admire your lovely wardrobe. Find it hilarious that you are such a Disney ”devotee”, that was about the last thing I’d expect from you😊. Am sure that that collection is beautifully curated too, though!
This is an enormous amount of clothes. How do you manage wanting a good mix of things in your wardrobe vs the environmental impact of buying this much clothing?
My focus is on buying items that I know I’ll get wear out of and that last. You have to remember that I have considerably more than your average person given that I’ve been doing this job for over 15 years now so not all items are bought, there’s a lot of gifting in here from various past collaborations which of course are integral to our business, as is content creation, it IS the business. My situation is not ‘the norm’ and I think the majority of my audience recognise this but I also like to think I do a pretty good job of reminding people of this fact and encouraging thought out purchases that will last and not blinding buying a load of items for the sake of it or on a whim. There are environmental impacts that come with all elements of life, travel, food, creating a family etc etc. One could argue that because we’ve chosen not to have children our environmental impact is already vastly reduced far beyond the impact of the clothing I own. We don’t go on frequent holidays, don’t drive a big gas guzzling vehicle, eat less than average meat and grow some of our own fruit and vegetables. In my opinion, no one is living sustainably with no negative environmental impact unless they’re living self sufficiently off their own land, no cars, no planes, no fuel, the list of ‘no’s’ could go on but it’s just not realistic.
They offer more support for garments, especially blazers and coats, and help to keep me in check so I don’t go crazy buying new stuff just because I have the space.
@@ConserveMoreoh well you can see the dogs in various clips, but otherwise they are always doing dog-things, sleeping, being out in the garden, playing, snuggling etc 😊

Haha same, ‘stock room’ vibes but make it neutral 😏😬🤣
@@EmmaHill a tidy stock room though, nothing more satisfying 🤗😂😂😂
I am a busy mom of two….so I don’t do any of this….and never have and probably never will but for some reason I enjoy watching this….haha

RIP the bendy rail 🤣
Always look forward to these switchovers. Compared to others with so many colours that make my head spin, I find yours especially relaxing.
Thank you 😘
The most expected video of the season! Always relaxing and satisfying!😊
I hope it didn’t disappoint 😘

Emma, your organization and how you explain it is so very refreshing.

So true, knitwear always takes up so much space. I’ve got 4 empty drawers after packing away most of mine 🙊🙌🏼
