I have what looks like exactly these reusable pods, but 2nd gen... didn't see anything in the instructions about using paper (and haven't had any problems going without)! I was really interested to see how much coffee you would put in - shame you didn't show us that stage. Still, it's nice to be able to experiment with higher quality coffee than Nescafe themselves sell.
Tq. Very Informative. I also use the 3rd gen capsule. And even without paper filter, sometime the water just leaking out from its top. I suspect the capsule lid will not be able to hold 15 bar pressure, thus the leaking. Because of this, I dont use fine grind and just press lightly.
I have the exact opposite problem than the others have. My coffee is so fuckin strong that I can hear colors after drinking one. And I do not use filters, and the water is literally pouring out of the bottom of the capsule.
You can adjust the how strong you want the espresso, and also the time you want it to run though the machine, you can do that by adjusting the ballance between the fineness of the grind and the amount of how tight you press the coffee into the capsule. It will take many cups of espresso's to practice, and find the perfect taste for your taste. I will recommend no less than 25 second for making the espresso. Btw you can always add boiled water into your espresso, if your in the mood for a "traditional" cup of coffee ☕
Be interesting if you show the difference between a first gen capsule and third gen and maybe even 2nd gen i have no idea what ones i have to be honest but the coffee filter is a good idea!
They all have a different intake of water, but the first two generations are poor quality. Check out my older videos to see about these older capsules. ☕
Hi Minz, have you tried to clean the lid and gasket? Make also sure that the lid is in place, before brewing. You could also try with less coffee in the capsule, and maybe press the coffee less tight. Hope this will help you 🌝☕
The 3 th.generation of capsules, does never leak for me, the fine grind should therefore not be the problem with this capsule. You should try clean en little hole that goes into the capsule by using the needle behinded the water tank, clean also the rubber that you can see when you take out the cassette for the capsules. Last thing, take out the gasket on the lid of the capsule, and clean all. Hope this will help ☕
hi i’ve been trying so many times even with different brand’s of coffee but it always comes out watery. i even place more than the recommended amount of coffee grounds in the capsule but it never comes out thick enough with nice crema pls help
Hi Kat, the "secret" is a grinder, grind it yourself, and grind it VERY fine, then put it into the capsule and give it a press....the less fine the grid is, the tighter you have to pack it into the capsule. Hope this will work, Merry Christmas 🎄☕
hi, i just bought Dolce Gusto machine, and these capsules too, but the coffee was colored water! i did not put paper filter, i didn't understang what you mean by filter paper, what is?
You can also use the capsules, without the filter (the filter paper is a normal filter for making coffee the old and traditional way). Remember to grain the beans very fine, and press the coffee into the capsule very hard. Hope that will work for you ☕
@@Anders_EU thank you, whithout filter coffe was terrible! much better original capsules, but here in Italy are expensive, for coffee i used moka machine, as you know is without paper filter, thats why i didn't understanding
@@Anders_EU Just wanna go by and say that the number doesn't work anymore. I both tried to google the number as you wrote in another comment, as well as type it on the ebay site
Sorry for late reply, my machine adjust the pressure itself, but if your machine can adjust the bars, then you have to experiment until you fine the balance between the how fine you grain the beans, and the pressure you use.
hello Anders!nice video! I tried to do this. Oh my!! what a weak coffee I do with it! what a weak coffee! perhaps I do something wrong, i dont know! but i think even the cheap coffee essresso pot maker of the oven (like brigetti type etc) do amazing stronger coffee than this refill! I have use the paper, or without it! almost no difference! i produce very weak coffee! I was looking for preworkout coffee, i find that instant coffee about 3-4 grams/espresso pot is a lot lot of stronger than this refill of about 5-6 grams! Oh my! night and day difference, Perhaps I do somethnig wrong. anyway, thank you again! have a nice day!
Hello George, grind your coffee fine as possible, and press about 7-8 gram into the capsule. If you don't have a grinder, buy the pre grinded espresso (never put instant coffee or milk powder into the capsules). The tighter you can press the coffee into the capsule, the slower it runs through the capsule, and that will give you a strong coffee. You could also try to put 2 to 7 filters in the capsule, to see if that will make the coffee run slower through the machine, hope this will work for you ☕
@@27Drasko sorry for late reply 🙃 milk powder can't run through the capsule, my advice would be to heat milk to boiling in a microwave, and then add in your espresso
I use the hot water to heat up the cup, before making the espresso, then it will stay warmer for longer.... I'm not using the hot water for anything else.
That happens sometimes, just wait somewhere between 1 to 10 minute, then release it slowly. It's caused by vacuum, heat and water, and will go away when it cool down.
Hi Anders. I want to ask, how much used layers paper filter to capsule that to make coffee? I used only one layer in my capsule, what do you think, i should use more layers in capsule ?
I have the same reusable capsules, but my coffee is too light, im using regular coffee grind and no filters but im gonna switch it up to espresso grind and extra filters
Sounds like a good plan, remember to press the espresso grinds tight into the capsule, it has be so tight, that it will take about 25-35 seconds to make a espresso.
@@Anders_EU I used coffee grinded specifically for moka pot so it's not super fine, maybe that's why my espresso is not as thick as yours. It took only around 10 seconds to yield 30 ml espresso.

Coz later i will put fresh milk coz like to drink latte for morning coffee hehe Btw nice vid.. will buy buy reusable pod coz i like to try coffee for different flavour hehe

Thanks so much for this hack! I was able to make espresso from fresh ground beans with crema ❤🙌👍
this is not a hack, you can simply purchase reusable coffee pods, and refill them as many times as you want to!

how many grams of coffee you use for that capsule? and how long you brew it?
7-9 grams, depending on how fine and how tight you press it into the capsule, if possible, leave a little space for the lid ☕
