After both Mike Fernie and Alex Kersten started Jaguar manual swap projects on UA-cam, there was inevitably going to be some form of confrontation. Who has the fastest Jag on UA-cam? Both cars go head-to-head on a drag strip to see who takes home the project car crown. Let’s have ourselves a Jag Off!

The pushing drag race was a valid relevant choice, because they're both Jags after all... They're gonna break down a lot. Makes sense 😂 A fact Alex demonstrated for us as well lol.

@@topmandog1 They have done it. Old cars face off with Jeremy´s 1963 Grosser Mercedes (600), and James in his 1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche. Series 11, Episode 5.
I personally wouldn't push a car that far 😂 I'd just call for recovery. Like Jeremy Clarkson I don't do manual labour 😂

Why does it feel like the results from Round 2 have significant relevance in the Jaguar community?
I have this thing I put in my cars fuel tank every single time I fill up, without it the car just wont run! It improves throttle response, makes the car run smoother, heck, it even stops better when using engine braking this beautiful additive is called P E T R O L and its truly a brilliant invention!
I could not believe when I saw that shot of the Project 8 lining up with those golden wheels and thought: "Hey, I know this car. It''s Harry!"". Then the man himself showed up like a complete boss. Didn't see that coming, it was genius, even though without his own manual-swapped Jaguar - you guys made the Project 8 fit. Nice crossover with him and Alex, congrats!

I’ve never understood the whole “I’ve been Mike” thing.
Can you elaborate, please? I, and I'm sure a few others, have never understood Mike's signature sign-off phrase. Is that something Harry used to say, or maybe someone at Evo? I watch Harry's Garage regularly and haven't heard that phrase or anything like it on there before.

It always baffles me how close Mike sits to the wheel. He’s basically got his knees wrapped around the steering column with the keys resting on his leg 😂 8:50
But seeing Mike standing next to Alex, maybe he's not very tall? Considering the only other reference we have is Richard Hammond, none of them would sit far from the wheel!
@@althejazzman oh don’t get me wrong I completely understand that but I’m 5”6 and I sit further back than that. I would just be so uncomfortable with my legs at a 90 degree bend while driving. Saying that I’m not a racing driver so maybe you have to sit differently? Just looks odd to me lol

At a guess, from seeing him at the NEC, Mike is around 5'9-10 at most. But yeah, his seating position is slightly unusual.

Remember pushing friends car (she insisted to try to push start with first gear and easing the clutch) a couple of kilometers... no this car was not 1700 kg, but about 1400... everytime I tried to tell don't ease the clutch... just release it when I say... but nope... she slowly released the clutch... My legs, my back felt that pain a couple of weeks afterwards...

Mike and Ben came to my little coffee trailer last year to review a lancia delta in my village. Mike was literally the most down to earth dude ever honestly such a easy guy to serve although he didn’t have anything.
Ben did and the following video they shot was very funny and you can clearly see the effects of the extra shot he had in his americano.
They then drove past a few times waving.. what a day
