Thanks for the free video. What is castration? why can't it be used as a permanent birth control method in males? This question came in the exam. Can you please explain the benefits of this method for men? I had searched that this process increases the life expectancy in men. Is it true? Can you make a video on this topic and clear my doubts mam??

Castration is surgical removal of testes. This method has serious disadvantages. Testes provide 2 important functions: reproductive (spermatogenesis) and endocrine (production of testosterone). Surgical removal of testes causes permanent and irreversible male infertility and absence of testosterone. This hormone is necessary for the proper development and functioning of male organism, so the castration will cause problems caused by absence of testosterone. Males after the castration have higher levels of female hormones which in some cases cane reduce risk of early atherosclerosis, but disadvantages of castration are much more serious than possible benefits. Castration nowadays is not used as a birth control method. The vasectomy is a preferable male permanent birth control method.
