I would do the same thing I want done with all characters both marvel and DC, their stories need to progress. This past year or so I’ve started reading at the beginning of Spider-Man and I’m amazed at how much progress and development took place. He graduated, went to college, etc. As a huge fan of manga and such I yearn for these classic characters to actually go somewhere instead of being reset after every run.

It is crazy when you go back and read the ditko/Lee original stuff on Spider-Man how much he grows over time, same for characters like kitty pryde and johnny storm, marvel really used to put work into letting their characters age and grow, sure it was at a slow pace but there was still growth that seems to be stunted as of late which is sad. Hopefully they could take that older approach with the flash, it would be great to see

Interesting question. I never thought about it much before. I've tried to push the Flash out of memory in recent years due to my sheer disappointment at his stories. But trying to figure out a role for him is such a mind bender because I genuinely can't think of anything. He's a Superhero. There aren't many new and exciting roles for him to play beyond that. Certainly not any roles that aren't already being filled by other characters. With the Flash extras I definitely agree with de-powering them, but I would also be fine with putting them on various teams/groups, killing them off, or if we must keep them then change their powers. DC invented a bunch of different force powers a while back if I recall. Maybe exchange the speed force for one of those other forces. Maybe make some of them fall to villainy. Send some of them off to space, a different city, or another dimension. Something. As for the main Flash himself? Barry? I've got nothing. I think at most you need him reaching a new stage in his life and trying to do something new.

Thanks for commenting! Certainly agree that Barry needs to reach a new stage in life, getting married to Iris again and possibly being a dad or something like that would be interesting or having him become the commissioner of the central city police would be another element that could change it up a bit.

I’d like to see Chip Zdarsky on the book with Wally as his Flash. I think his voice would be ideal of what I sense long time fans want, as well as a draw to get new readers to try the book. I’m thinking a Flash more in line with the lighthearted Wally from the Justice League cartoon.

Excellent idea! Zdarsky really does great with characters like Wally, so it would be a great match! Would be awesome to see that down the line

I love the idea of a World Finest Detectives series! Would love to see some serious criminology coming from Bruce and Barry.
I hope they do something fun with Martian Manhunter in the Absolute run. With Darkseid energy running the show, it'd be cool to see MM having to deal with that influence, like in The New Frontier. It'd make for a compelling character study from such a generally recognized "overpowered" character. Do oreos have white cookies and chocolate middles in a universe awash with Darkseid energy?

Would be great to see more Bruce and Barry team ups. MM is such an underrated character, DC too often benches the character instead of giving him focus to try and build him up would be great if DC ALL IN really give MM some compelling stories

I hope Si Spurrier gets a chance to finish the amazing story he’s telling. I’d love to see a back to basics Flash eventually, but not yet. The current Flash run is just so weird and spectacular.

Great to hear that you are a fan of the current run on the book, while we haven't been the biggest fans of it here on the channel, its always great to see folks who are enjoying a run. Seems like Spurrier is continuing on the book past the DC ALL IN reboot in october,

@@RMLitegrade Yeah, I totally get why some people (especially fans of classic Flash stories) aren't loving this run. It's not a typically Flash story at all.
However, I love when writers take chances like this; really pushing us out of our comfort zone and showing another side of a character.
If this were a permanent status quo shift for Flash, I'd hate it. It's not the tone I want. But, I think it's a great way to break up the storytelling a little. Giving us something completely different, before jumping back into classic stuff. A pallet cleanser.
And this is the kind of stuff that DC does best. They give us elseworlds, black label, Tom King Universe, and other pockets of the DC Universe that really allow for great storytelling without being bogged down by continuity and expectation.
This isn't a permanent change. Classic Flash will be back. But in the meantime, here's a strange, dark, fantastic story that (if allowed to finish) will be looked upon very favorably in the future.

@@mitch-TO Great to hear your perspective, sometimes fans (like us) get our perspective set and sorta get blinders to anything that is outside of the norm and once it gets seen negatively it is hard to shift that focus back to positive, that's why it's so great to see other folks opinions and that some folks are really loving runs like spurrier's on the character, that was one of the big reasons we wanted to start this channel, really appreciate you sharing your opinion on the current run

I've never understood why DC is so averse to just having two Flash titles. I think the solution to both the size of the Flash family and the constant push and pull of what to do with the fact that there are two core audiences who each view a different Flash as THE Flash has always been to give Barry one title and Wally his own. If audiences can follow 4 Batman titles a month, and Nightwing and Robin and Batwoman and so on - then they can absolutely handle two Flash titles.
Barry becomes The Flash of the core title, focusing on Central City based Rogues stories. We get forensics and mysteries for him to solve on his own.
Wally becomes the anchor of a team up Flash Family book in the vein of Brave & The Bold, focusing on more adventure focused issues where he can team up with Jay or Bart or Wallace or Avery or Max in short run stories.

Would really be great if DC would go with that approach. Both Barry and Wally have enough fans to maintain a book and it's crazy that DC basically has where either Wally or Barry has a book, there is no way either character should be on the bench at any time

My perfect scenario is they bring Jeremy Adams back for another go around. His Flash was fun and it was only getting started. The only thing I would suggest is a more regular artist. Ramon J. Perez would be good.

A couple of books that we would recommend for non-dc fans to try to get into dc would be :
The New Frontier by Darywn Cooke- That is a great all around DC story that really honors the voices for so many of the characters, we do have a full video talking about that story if you want to know more about that story you can check that out for sure (ua-cam.com/video/ZwY5lOWUZnE/v-deo.html),
All Star Superman by grant morrison and frank quietly- which highlights pretty much everything great about superman
Batman: the Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale which is among the greatest batman stories ever and really served as the basis for a lot of the dark knight trilogy. For batman as well its cliche to recommend it but Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns are also amazing stories by Frank Miller.
Green Lantern Secret origin by geoff johns and Ivan reis is a great story about Hal Jordan and his start as a green lantern and an excellent entry point for any new readers
Aquaman: the trench by geoff johns and ivan reis is a great aquaman tale that really brought the character back after many years being on the bench at dc.
For the flash specifically Jeremy Adams recent run on the character was a really fun and dynamic book that felt like a throwback old school comic
Would also say that Christopher Priest's Run on Deathstroke was a great long form story that had some issues that were not amazing but overall as a run it was a great story.
      Hopefully that helps a bit.
