It's Jace. Which is why Magnus sacrifice his immortality and his magic to save Jace. Which is also why he went to eat them because he knew that Alec had the one thing he couldn't live without.

Of course, Alec would be heartbroken if Jace dies since Jace is his brother, BFF, and parabatri. Jace might owns Alec's soul, but Magnus owns his heart. No one wants to be put in a position where they have to choose between their loved ones even if the answer may be clear. Also, Magnus and Alec only known each other for less than 3 months yet they have a huge impact in each other's lives.
