- Students who are perfectly capable of solving linear equations often freeze up when faced with inequalities.
Follow along as Kate guides you through the ways in which this key GED skill is familiar, and two ways in which it is unique.

I'm taking my math test Friday and I think you just made me pass!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!
Yay! Get it!
Did you pass?
Oh my goodness Kate, Thank you, thank you. Inequalities are so easy to understand now, thanks to you.
YAY! I am so glad! Happy learning!
You deserve 10 million subscribers hun. God bless you.
From your lips to God's ears. Hahaha! Thank you!
Thanks! Equalities are hard, and now i now! If you wanna undestnd that better, rewind it and watch it again! That is something I'll consider!
You are welcome!
During example 5, at around 43:10 you multiplied all equations by 3 to get rid of the fraction(nice). Why didnt subtracting 160 come first, since solving uses GEMA in reverse?
Also thank you so much for sharing these videos and making your website! I never finished elementary school, so your organized, easy to understand teachings have been invaluable. Its thanks to you I might actually have a chance to get my life together. I appreciate it so much (❀ฺ´∀`❀ฺ)ノ
Go teacher Kate!! ٩(๑^o^๑)۶ ٩۹(๑•̀ω•́ ๑)۶
Thank u so much inequalities are so easy now with your video🤩
Yay! That is so awesome to hear!
Hi Kate,
When you are graphing the inequalities to demonstrate new idea 2, your circles seem to be shaded in although the symbols are strictly less than and greater than.
Thanks,
Hope
Thanks for catching my goof-up, Hope!
This is awesome! I'm finally getting the hang of it! Thank you so much!!!
I am so glad! Happy learning!
I am on example 3,and I am enjoying the conversation too
Yay!
another wonderful video question 7 and 8 were tricky one ,but you nailed it with your skill ,I want more practice on challenge questions if you can send me please. thanks for your support .
I'm glad you figured them out in the end.
Kate do u still do live videos
I don't teach regularly at a college anymore. However, I do ocassionally do calls for live video series. However, I haven't done one in a while because I am currently still editing the dozens of hours of video footage I filmed during the last live class series (the Math 144 review videos for right before you test). The next one I am working on is a series of videos for students with disabilities MATHAbility.
Wowwww not there yet. I almost got panic attack
What’s the shaded part mean?
Can you give me a time or a problem number? What shaded part?
52:58 LOL i get it
I’m about to give up. I don’t understand any of this. At all. I keep on scoring two points less than the passing 145 score.
This is one of the final lessons in the unit. If you can straight here, you're jumping in the deep end! Have you done the algebra lessons before this? www.lightandsaltlearning.org/ged-math-crash-course/1-algebra-essentials

no! I will do it right now! Thank you SO much for replying!
@@LightandSaltLearning
is there a way I could send you my score report? And you recommend videos? I don’t think you realize how much that would mean to me. All I wanna do is pass.
Very good for ged in ingles an fortunately no for me im bet to live ged because I can not get math done
where did you get the 2x??
Can you tell me the problem number or time stamp of this so I can better help you?
God richly bless you.
Thank you!
I still really dont get the halves.5/2
The top of a fraction tells you HOW MANY. So I have five things. The bottom of the fraction tells you WHAT SIZE. All five of my things are HALVES. Imagine you had a bunch of apples halves in front of you. If you pick up five of those halves, you have 5/2. Obviously, if you put the halves back together, another way to think of that is 2 1/2 apples. Does that make sense?
Confused
What part confused you?
FIRST!!!
