the title 953 comes from the ending of the song where they play the main riff sped up. they play it for 9 bars, and then a break, then 5 bars, then a break, then 3 bars, then a break
This was the band at their youngest. They recorded this album when they were all 19 years old and Greeps voice was the most maniac and insane it'll ever be in his career. These guys haven't made a single bad album. Also the reason why their sound changed so much because their second guitarist Matt, left the band in mid or late 2020 i dont remember. But songs like John L and Chondromalacia Patella were made while Matt was in the band. Also Matt was the vocalist for Years Ago
the guy you talked about screaming is cam who’s also the bassist, the other vocalist is geordie who also plays the guitar and idek how his brain works to be able to play like that and sing these complex ass lyrics at the same time, especially on songs like the race is about to begin
So glad you did this, knocknarea by Maruja is a crazy ep that came out this year, they got one of the brightest futures along with black midi and bcnr in my opinion
You might like the Queens of the Stone Age album "Songs For The Deaf." It was one of the biggest rock albums of the 2000s and it's epic. Some real insanity on that album
@@th3om1r4o agree about ...Like Clockwork, hard disagree about Songs For The Deaf. The title track and Mosquito Song are some of the best moments on the album
953 is one of my favorite album openers. It just throws you right in. Concubine by Converge and Only Shallow by My Bloody Valentine are album openers that do the same very well.
Appreciate the black midi reactions 🙏 an album I think you should check out is Thrak by King Crimson. I know it's been a bit since you've done a KC reaction and rightfully so, need variety, but this is from their 90s era where it had it's biggest studio lineup to date, 6 members. The album is like a mix of the heaviness of the 70s like the Red Album and a mix of the playful and experimental writing from 80s albums. Check it out if you'd like!
when I saw black midi in concert they opened with 953. it's the perfect opener of this album and to their music in general. love this album and loving your channel 💯
honestly bro you should try your hand at a metal album, i suggest dopethrone, pure aggression distilled into one of the rawest hardest hitting and loudest albums that still knows how to get into a groove
Most consistent and best reactor on youtube. I'll gladly show support if you start a patreon, my man. Recommendation: The Wonder Years - The Greatest Generation
69th like. Nice. Some other albums for your consideration: Animal Collective: Strawberry Jam Animal Collective: Centipede Hz. Animal Collective: Time Skiffs Brand New: Science Fiction 🍻
i know you usually listen to more alternative albums here, but have you ever heard who made the sunshine by westside gunn? there are definitely some bangers on there
Love the videos man🙏 I suggest listening to Radiohead's 2000 album "Kid A". It's a mix of alt rock and electronics and is one of my favorite albums of all time. You should totally check it out!
Can you do volcanic bird enemy and the voiced concern by lil ugly mane! The writing on that album is genius and the production is really unique and creative with lots of interesting sounds all over it
Bro was really starting to sound like a Black Midi fan at 6:41

Fire album we need a reaction from the consistency king 😭
This and Like Clockwork. Both masterpieces
He’d love Like Clockwork, that album is a true masterpiece. Songs For The Deaf kinda dies down in the second half.

Would love to see you listen to Yellow Swans - Going Places
7\ If you ever do get around to "...I Care Because You Do" by Aphex Twin you should listen to the bonus tracks, especially "Sekonda"
Eyyy Mr. Consistency. You should do Yellow Swans - Going Places considering they just reunited for the first time in 15 years.
honestly bro you should try your hand at a metal album, i suggest dopethrone, pure aggression distilled into one of the rawest hardest hitting and loudest albums that still knows how to get into a groove

Can I make a call for Bright Green Field by Squid to complete the Black Midi Country New Squid triumvirate?
26:34 “until the next album,” hits different now
Most consistent and best reactor on youtube. I'll gladly show support if you start a patreon, my man.
