Thanks to the ones responsible for uploading that video. It's a life dream to fly in such a beast. Loved it!
Thanks it was an Awesome Ride
Thanks for directing me over here - man, this brings back a lot of memories! So glad to see her flying again. He's done a LOT of work on her. The instrument panel and cockpit never looked anywhere near this nice when she was over here, and the rear seat accomodations were nowhere as nice either! Originally a RCAF plane. At one time, the owner had this, the B-25 that's now in the Netherlands, an FW-190 project that was never finished, and two T-34 Trojans. Before she was named "Buster", for many years, it wore the name "Damifino" on the nose.
Wilhelm and his son do a great job keeping this aircraft airshowready and secure. Never heard about the name Damifino yet. Thanks the info
When it was based in Baton Rouge near "Tigerland Aviation" in the late 70's, I got to ride in and fly with Don, the Lawyer/owner a few times when he'd practice his airshow routine. It was named Damfino then. I helped Don work on his B-25 when he first got it. In addition to the other listed aircraft that they owned, his wife also had a T-28 Trojan we followed him to airshows in. Great to see it still flying. All the Best from Cajunland! Geaux Tigahz!! ^v^
Very familiar with that P-51. It was based in Baton Rouge Louisiana for years.

Wonderful flight, and beautiful countryside. Congratulations, I enjoyed the video very much.
Thx Gerrit
That's the best ride ever to witness in a Mustang and if you're looking forward for another flight then I'll come out
The P-51 Mustang improved performance when it got the RR Merlin ,one of it's speed impromes was the placement of the radiator, which rear duct and heated the air passing through it giving it a boost along with drop tanks it could escort the bombers all the way to Germany and back again dropping the tanks before combat I mean, who wants a bomb under them in combat, the internal 85 gallon tank would be enough to get them back to England with some reserve for missed approaches and alternates
The most important thing is that the allies focused on was to save the pilot to fly another airplane, the Germans didn't and by the end of the war they'd lost their most experienced pilots, they had the "V" weapons but it was too little too late. I know that this is a long winded comment but perhaps someone will read it.(edit)I almost forgot about the Merlin's two speed supercharger, driven by the crankshaft or a camshaft there's no "turbo lag" the boost is IMMEDIATELY available. The high speed supercharger meant it climb higher than the BF-109, that meant that the pilots would wear oxygen masks and those iconic leather jackets.
Thanks a lot for this comment 👍
Jim Brewer One point....NO RR built merlin engine was used in any production Mustang. ALL Production Merlin powered Mustangs, P51 B/C D/K and H ALL used the Made in America Built by PACKARD Merlin and yes it was different from the British built version, Mainly in the induction system, Bendix Pressure carb 2 stage 2 speed American designed supercharger and intercooler, and the V1650-3 or -7 or -9 were only used in the mustang !!!! All US Built engines also hade US built ancillary equipment also. Also when the 85 gallon rear fuel tank was used it was emptied first because it moved the CG back and made the plane unstable The under belly radiator and ducted was also on the original Allison powered version......The 2 stage supercharger was NOT unique to the Merlin as the first to use the 2 stage supercharger was the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat when equipted with the PW R1820, PW also used the 2 stage supercharger on the R2800 in the F4U Corsair. Know what you are talking about before putting fingers to the keyboard !!!

I am a subscriber and fan in Texas! Superb experience and #greyhairpilot. Excellent video and matching in air to ground footage. Well done ! I had the money to go up in a P51D or split and take the kids in a Harvard , as I recall P51D was super expensive in Florida. In the end I chose to give the kids and I a ride x 4 in a Texan. Beautiful video and ride. do you have a Facebook page >
P-51 Mustang, the Cadillac of the skies!
Indeed. Best Plane Ever
davidmarsden Caddillac of the sky with a PACKARD built engine ???? suuuuure !!!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142 That's what the pilots apparently called it during the war.
The Mustang P51 originally had that engine or similar American engine which wasn't capable of performing at the altitude to protect the B17s over Europe. The RAF wouldn't accept it and it was fitted with the Rolls Royce Merlin engine which transformed it into a very capable fighter aircraft and performed very well for the rest of the war and helped defeat the Luftwaffe as a threat to allied aircraft.
Rainer the Best.....
Do they offer rides in this P51? I cannot find information on their website. How did you get to book a ride? I would be interested thanks a lot
Yes they do. Contact them by Mail
I have a question
How does it feel to be inside a plane when it does that 13:08
Is it uncomfortable, do you get dizzy etc
Just Awesome !

It definitely looks awesome, 12:56 - 14:17 is probably my favourite part of an amazing video. So glad I'm subbed to you.
