  • this Novritsch SSP18 has major flaws, sadly!
    this is a review of the Novritsch SSP18 gas blow back airsoft.
    it saddens me to bring you bad news especially with novritsch but those failures are so easy to fix why they didn't do it from the first time right I don't know it leaves my head scratching.
    its annoying when the system is not reliable, when you need it and it doesn't work and you end up getting hit.

    My SSP18 has had no problems after 2 years of constant use at ballahack airsoft, using CO2 mags during summer and winter. Still incredibly consistent and I might use it as my base for a cqb hpa build now. I thought of getting a hicapa but this pistol is up to the job I think

      That’s fantastic, I’m curious about the slide, if you let it slide to the front slow does it get Caught up right before it reaches battery?

      @@mikeserds2333 is it because the slide is not all the way to the front? If so the problem most likely will not go away I have fired a lot of shots with my SSP 18 and the problem is still there. It’s because the spring is too weak for to push it into battery. What you could do is source out a slightly stronger spring and that that problem will dissolve.
      Just don’t go crazy with the super strong spring because the aluminum slide doesn’t work that strong to me I could be wrong it just looks that way. He wouldn’t want it to break on you. Other than that I haven’t had any issues with it it’s a great platform shoots really good and far.
      Actually I do have another issue but that is with the CO2 mag it’s leaking the output valve is not good anymore. I had two of them leaking and then I put some silicon oil that fixed one mag so far but the other one is still leaking.

      Try to shoot that ssp18 as fast as a you can shoot a high capa. For me the light trigger pull from a high capa helps me shoot faster and a lot more accurate. Can’t speak for other glock type airsoft guns but can for the ssp18

    You shouldn’t be using the co2 mag at temperatures above 60. you have the gas option for that. Cheers

      For the money that I paid the SSP 18 should be running flawlessly. If we compare it to the umarex beretta, its cheaper and works above in 90 Fahrenheit without any issues. That’s why I’m disappointed in the SSP 18.
      Reason why I am using CO2 is because Recoil is very important to me, the more the merrier.
      Thank you for looking out though.

    I feel like my ssp18 the trigger pull is hard and I’ve had to replace the complete hammer unit the first year I had it. I bought the ssp5 and shear bridge broke inside while using HPA playing at 110psi shooting 350 fps. I know blow back guns break all the time but geez.

    • @TomiHarley
      @TomiHarley  7 місяців тому

      Damn that’s a bummer… the trigger pull is stiffer it needs more to pull it back, but I like that. It make it feel more real too me then having a Mushy trigger.
      Did you let the novritsch team know about your breakage? I think you have a one year warranty on parts.
      My ssp18 still works nothing has broken so far but I haven’t used it much. Shortly after I got the ssp18 I got the RWA stainless nighthawk 1911, that’s my to go to pistol now.

    Yup, the slide problem is a design flaw for the G18, happens with WE and Umarex ones too, is the full auto sear being a bitch, nothing you can do to fix it, it will be a fucking nightmare to balance out the amount of material needed on the sear vs the amount of friction it generates, so.... dont even bother.
    G17 is a much better design for reliability.

    • @TomiHarley
      @TomiHarley  2 роки тому

      A stiffer spring would solve some of the issues that would be my guess. But I don’t care about that pistol that much to do any other work. However the GHK Glock 17 that just came out not too long ago that seems to be agreed buy. We could also argue that it has to be that great because it’s around I believe $500.
      And thank you very much for your comment I really appreciate that it made a lot of sense what you said.

  • @nickmescall4421

    The slide issue is easily fixed with two things. First is just break the gun in, all the parts in the gun are super tight how they are supposed to be, so when the gun is new or a few months old it will be stiff and not go forward. If it still isn’t going all the way forward then oil the slide and any metal on metal contact and the issue will be gone. All of this is in Novritsch video on the gun

    • @TomiHarley
      @TomiHarley  2 роки тому +1

      -It’s more then a view month old
      -It’s well lubed with White lithium grease, it’s smoother and stays in place then silicon oil.
      (Only use on metal or polymer, because it will eat away/dry up your o-rings. Don’t know how long that process takes)
      It’s a super easy fix you are right, the issue lays with the weak recoil spring.
      Add some spacer to the spring guide rod that will make it stiffer or a stiffer spring.
      About the ssp18 having tight tolerances being super tight: I don’t find it to be that tight. But let’s go with what you said after all we experience those things differently.
      Can we agree and say even though it’s tight, that slide issue shouldn’t exist?

    • @nickmescall4421
      @nickmescall4421 2 роки тому +1

      @@TomiHarley I agree 100%. The issue shouldn’t be there in the first place, by tight I meant how it’s a fixed barrel and everything in the slide when assembled is a snug fit. Unlike other pistols where the barrel moves when the slide is pulled back. Yeah me personally I use the Novritsch oil kit with mechanical oil on metal on metal and all the o rings get the silicone oil. It worked for me but yes for the price you shouldn’t have to do that.

      @Nick Mescall thank you kindly for your words and subscriptions.
      To answer your question about a stiffer spring. My guess would be any Glock gbb spring should fit.
      I tried the recoil spring my umerix Beretta full auto and omg the ssp18 became a beast. Shoots super crisp the slide always goes in to battery and the rate of fire is absolutely insane.
      How ever the spring being much stiffer obviously the gas consumption is higher but far more important I don’t know how well the slide will take that abuse. Just keep that in mind please I’d hate if your beautiful ssp18 would break.
      I might do a review specifically for that, see how it would hold up after many thousands round cycling through.

    i have had the ssp18 for almost 2 months only problems i have ran into are the cycling issue which only happens when the c02 is almost empty and the slide not always closing but i think if you get a short stroking kit for the recoil spring it should help it close all the way maybe they fixed it or i havent hit the big problems yet

    So I’ve had my ssp18 for like 2-3 months and I have the gas mags version. I’ve had a problem with it once in a while, but the problem is that the slide gets stuck on the rubber gas input, and the slide gets stuck and cannot close.
    0 clue why but just sucks

      super glad that you don't have any other issues.
      the slide problem is very easily solved with a stronger spring. buy a stronger spring from an other brand. now here is one thing I will have to say about that. if you choose to go with a stiffer spring, don't do to crazy with it cause the slide doesn't look to me that strong it might lead to pre mature breakage. the materials look cheap to me but that doesn't mean that it is weak. the ssp18 might just work very well with a stronger spring and never break.
      I put my umarex Beretta spring it and omg ssp18 work sooooooo good its more snappy and the rate of fire is through the roof its insane.
      but again please be caution when using a stronger spring I don't want you to break it.

      I think def u got a defective gun , because mine in that aspect works just perfect the slide don’t get stuck not even wen I put in one of the front pockets of my vest , and basically you know this pockets are tight and the slide don’t get stuck , I also heard that problem with the co2 mags getting stuck because they get hot and I don’t have that issue either , well To be honest I did not had the chance to take to the field yet , is not even a month since I bought this gun but I heave been shooting a lot testing it in my back yard , I really shoot it aggressively with the intention to make it fail but I finish the cartridges on Semi and full auto with no problem And the climate temperature it’s been 80 to 95 degrees , now the only issue mine have is that some now and then false some shots , what I mean by that is that when I’m shooting in semi some round consecutively the BB jump out of the chamber lol , And I want to think the reason of that is might be might be ! Is because I’m using .20g BBS when the recommended for this type of guns is 28g or 32g BBS And that only happens on semi , when I go with the fun button this pistol is just a beast it shoots the whole mag in a sec without failing , and I’ll say that I can’t compare with the Glock 18C don’t get me wrong 18C is good pistol but the SSP18 is way Better than 18c ! , well now I’m waiting for the 28G BBS to try it And I’ll be posting the results !

    • @TomiHarley
      @TomiHarley  Рік тому +1

      @Kralj Igor
      Im sorry to hear that, there is a simple and cheap solution. It needs a stiffer spring, I am using the one from my Beretta umerix. That Spring is much stiffer the rate of fire goes through the roof also single shots are much more crisp however long-term use I don’t know how to slide is going to perform if it’s going to break it. I haven’t use the ssp18 in quite some time. Right after that when I bought it I got myself a 1911 stainless steel nighthawk from RWA. Another good point you’re bringing up is that it’s not cycling the BBs may be due to the green gas being weak. If you put a stiffer spring in there then it’s going to work even worse. Are use on all my gbb CO2 only. When using green gas try to film it with your phone in slow motion that way you could see if it’s cycling correctly or not. Keep me updated let’s hope we can find a resolution for the two of you.

      @@swampogre859 I think it’s a good buy.
      To get a stronger spring you could use a different brand may be from Ghk Or marui kwa it would have to be the Glock platform to be on the safe side. I put my Umarex full auto Co2 beretta spring in there And it works fine. It is much more crisp and full auto is insanely fast. The slide always goes to the front even when I try to release the slide super slow it always goes to the front without any issues. What I did as well there is a plastic buffer where the spring is, I took that out if you leave it in then the rate of fire would be even higher. But again mind you it’s a much stronger spring, I did this at home just to see what would happen I never played with it like that. I don’t know how strong the SSP 18 slide is. Maybe it will break maybe it won’t, a stronger spring means more force is applied on the GBB. If it’s not built with strong materials it will lead to premature use and breakage. If you choose to go with a stronger spring just keep that in mind.
