I would guess it's probably a money thing, some have been demolished but there's so many more, those costs would add up. Some of the others I visited actually looked like there were attempts at demolition one point, but were perhaps given up on
Good one to end the series on I think. I'm pretty sure this was your first encounter with a homeless guy, and finding a car in the building. Yet another thoroughly ravaged location. I think it's official, the economy of Gary is not based on gold, it's based on giant panes of glass windows!! Take it easy and looking forward to the next season of whatever you UA-cam kids call it 😀
Crazy I went here decades ago! I don't recognize anything from 7th to 8th grade! We used to walk to the stores on our lunch break. Pizzapuff was the popular food and 25 cents Hug Juice. My crush was a dude named Kurt Brown(I think) he used to be a crybaby. I was, too...😂
I guess it would be hard to recognize anything when half of it is ripped apart like it is, but I'd be kinda sad if I saw a school I went to had been abandoned.
Loved this series, subscribed and watching all your other content now. Hope you swing back through the area sometime. As someone who has lived in NWI my entire life I find UrBex so interesting!
Also one last comment, I Drove through Gary on my way home to work and detoured a little (I work right outside the city) and found a cool Slovak Club you might enjoy if you ever visit again
You didn’t wanna disturb him??? How about him disturbing you! Be safe guy you never know about the homeless😱😱 Nice video Jared I enjoy watching all of your videos !!!!!
I've never really had any bad experiences with homeless people, I've only encountered them right in person a scattered handful of times but every time, they've just done their own thing while I did mine.
If you think Gary Indiana is fantastic you should try East Cleveland Ohio you will have a ball over there 👉 or even flint Michigan It doesn’t get better than flint Michigan of course 😊
I also attended this school and it was my best jr high school years. How sad Gary failed this school. Jmo
I enjoyed watching all of your Gary trip videos.
Thank you, it was a truly surreal experience.
I been all over Gary always watching your videos. Next time your in town we will go
My 6th grade year you had to be tough to go here as well as live in Gary I also went to Jefferson elementary school in Gary
I went to this school in the 90’s. I don’t understand why the city don’t demolish these old buildings. It’s sad to see this.

@@a21schizoidman Hey thanks! That midwestern region Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, etc. the entire rust belt is a really good urbex region.
at least the guy living in there is friendly and means no harm
Yeah I've really never had too many negative encounters with homeless people.
Was just at pulaski Dunbar last night

I actually plan on being in St. Louis/East St. Louis pretty soon here, I imagine that'll be pretty similar as well.
This is where Michael Jackson went to school
