Very good talk, Joel and Jenna. It always helps to keep hearing this, over and over. Many of us need constant reinforcement, as our environment works against us.

I was a raw food vegan for 10 years. I felt really good eating this way, but doctor Furman does so much research and makes so much sense that I have now add EPA DHA supplements and seeds ,nuts, beans and mushrooms to my diet

I have the 5 words on my refrigerator and I eat ad libidum of micronutrient dense foods and maintain a healthy normal weight. I’m 7 years out now from a weight loss of over 160 lbs down from 300 lbs. I recall watching Dr Fuhrman’s earliest PBS programs over and over again as a morbidly obese poly pharmacy convalescent stuck in my lazy boy chair in front of my TV. My son thought I was dying and I was only in my early fifties. He used to take me from Portland, OR to the coast because he knew I loved the beach. He and his girlfriend would steady me and help me walk to the sand because I had to leave my walker behind and set me in a chair to enjoy the beach a decade ago. Yesterday, my son took me on an adventure to the coast and down a nearly hidden very rough trail through the forest down a steep drop to a hidden beach, and back up, and I kept up with his long legged, sure young stride and sure footed climbing with only a little help on an 8 hour day trip. 5 years ago he found that beach and waterfall and took a video of it to share with me and inspire me to want to get fit enough to go with him to see it someday. His girlfriend won’t go on that adventure with him because she doesn’t feel fit enough. Someday arrived yesterday. I just turned 65 this summer and I am a Nutritarian Vegan. I am trying to get my son interested in a Nutritarian eating style. That will be the true happy ending of my story.

When I went plant based 6 years ago, I said no to the Nutritarian diet, thinking it was too restrictive. Now, I’ve come back to looking at it again after seeing Dr. Fuhrman w/Chef AJ this morning. Suddenly it all makes so much more sense now that I’m more experienced with plant based eating. I’ll be binge-watching all your videos, now. Great video! Thank you!!!

Overeating is a result of consuming meat, oils, salt, plants that come from underground, dehydrated foods, and anything else that is not a seed bearing plant on the surface of the earth. COMPLETELY eliminate these on a “nutritarian diet” and THEN you’re left with the “perfect” diet, aka Garden of Eden diet (Genesis 1:29). The answer was there all along. Stay blessed, and bless up! 🙏🏽💚

Wow when you touched on FEAR … that hit me. I’ve been living with so much fear knowing my family history with HBP and kidney disease … you’re so right that eating Nutritarian demolishes that fear. Thank you 😭💛

thank you so much for these pod casts! So informative and confirms that the choice I made to go vegan (no vegan junk food) 8 yrs ago was totally the right decision. Not that my body hadn't already confirmed that; got rid of adult acne, psoriasis and getting rid of many other issues such as morning congestion and no more headaches. Haven't had a headache in 8 yrs.

This is awesome, so inspiring. Dr. Furhman, Jenna and Talia should be the leaders of your book club. They are much better in making Nutritarianism accessible. Your current leader leads the book club like a science lecture, and cannot appeal to such a wide group as your daughters can. You and your daughters combined are a super power like no other!

I'm with you about eating figs from your own fig tree. I live in SE Pennsylvania and cover my trees (in the ground) to keep them happy over the winter. I get both harvests too--from the old wood, then from the new growth. Figs are the best! It's good to see you posting on youtube. I always love hearing from you.

I am Carol Burgess and live in Arkansas. We, my husband and I are in our late 50’s. My husband had a triple bypass and lost all his muscle and fat. He is now a skeleton and looking like he can’t hold up his own lack of weight. The doctors put him on a plant-based diet, and he is trying. The big problem is he needs fat. He does a cardio workout every other two days and uses some weights with it. I believe that is what saved him, he worked out his whole life, even the doctor said he had a strong heart. He needs to stay away from oils, processed foods. How can I get some weight on him with healthy foods?
Thank you so much, I am at a loss. I have your books.

WFPBsos since your 1st TV special. Went from high end of "normal" weight to at age 83, can't stop losing 1-3 lbs per year. I am too thin. Fiber and second meal effect keeps me from eating more. I eat nuts. Trying to extend my eating window to have 4 meals or 3 + large snack. Can't lose more weight!

I'm not Dr. Fuhrman but I started the diet in 2017 and noticed I have fewer colds and flus and when I got COVID (Delta) it wasn't as bad as most other people I knew and I am not vaccinated. For me I changed because of my hormones and that motivates me to stay on the diet.

I don't understand this caloric restriction concept. My weight has been very consistent my entire life. I have always been within my ideal weight range. I'm female, age 45, BMI of 20. If I start restricting calories, I will likely fall under weight (and get grumpy). So, how does caloric restriction apply here? Am I already doing it? Is it just another way of saying don't eat more than you need? Surely people would not continue to restrict more and more.

It matters more how much energy (calories) one consumes than what one consumes.
