@@inactivegamer6965 Right on, mine is stripped down and the frame, sub frame, swing arm and shock spring are off to be powder coated factory colors while the suspension is on the way to Race Tech and the motor is going to Tom Morgan for a full going thru. Gonna cost a small fortune but the bike will be awesome when its done.
@@Sleepy.Time. that sounds awesome man the bike when I got it was running then the next day my brother blew up the top end so we had to put in a new top end. Turns out the bike had wesico a wesico bottem end so we got the bike a wesico top end with a small bore and redone the sleeves give or take 10 months later the bike is running strong with around 10 hours on the motor so that's cool. I plan to re paint it since the stock white is in bad condition and it could use the work. Plan to spend a good amount of money making this bike look unique and awesome
Have used digital levels quite a lot on construction projects. Their resolution is typically 0.1 degree, which seems really fine. However, if you're going to work down to those levels, 0.1 degree is really quite a coarse measurement and I find a spirit level will show levels much more clearly under that amount. Sometimes a pair of long straight bars placed strategically will give more accurate readings if they can be used on the item and checked for parallel. Interesting set of videos though. Keep up the good work.
How much more durable is that paint than a engine enamel can spray paint? I don't have a spray gun so I just want to know if its worth spending a lot of money on one.
You are putting a lot of time and doing this one right I’m excited for the end product. Do you have a soft spot for the Rms with everything your doing to this you could of had something a lot more modern.
did the weld is holding? im mean if you weld one spot for expample like you do, will this hold? or did have the chance to broke to another spot? cause the what i hear, once is broke, then is verry difficult to repair it, i have the same RM250 and today broke in the spot under the seat, not the aluminium part, the part from the other side, any suggestion how to weld it ? btw, good job, its pleasure to watch every video!
How long did you paint job last? I'm wanting to do a frame and swing arm paint job but concerned the paint will just flake off withing a few rides. I know prep is key but is their specific primers and paints that will get me a more factory durability paint job? Thanks for your help
What kind of stuff did you use to clean it before painting it? I've heard it's good to use epoxy primer, whats the difference between that and the stuff you used?
Hey mate I have a 94 CR250 frame that’s pretty jacked up I believe they are chromoly did you use anything special when welding? Was thinking of finding someone to tig it but that will be expensive
I hate powdercoating! It's not how the factory did it - they are painted. It's too thick, chips easy and you're limited with colour selection. Also, if you ever want to get it off it's very difficult.
If you're not careful and apply too much paint in the area then yes, it can be hard to read. If you apply the minimum amount of paint it is still readable.
I’m also restoring a 92 rm 250. Your videos have been a great guide and a huge help!!
Havent even watched it, thumbs up instantly!
Best restoration video I have ever seen
Appreciate that! Cheers.
I love your videos, I can feel the love you're putting on this build, keep it up man, greetings from Guatemala!
Currently doing the exact same thing with an 97 RM250
It's great to relate with you on this journey!
Ashley Burton cheers! I have a very low hour 97 RM250 if you ever need to know how it came from the factory!
G9Garage I'm giving mine a face lift & painting the frame & swing arm silver & the rims black to copy the style of the brand new RM250
thank you for these videos, i am cleaning up a 89 KX500 and your videos give me some good ideas

I do like this particular model RM. I like all 90s bikes. I’ve had new bikes too but they don’t have the character of these older bikes.
Old two strokes are great I always like seeing an old bike that’s in great shape. Do you have a vintage series to race it in
Yeah we have a local vintage series. This bike won’t see much track action though, I have other, less expensive bikes for that!

Why did you use the Etching promar ?
How long did the last coat dry or how long till you can handle the frame after painting?
372 subscribers? That can’t be right! Maybe add a few more zeros and it will be right
Please share! haha
Nice video only downside is the bike is too old why spend so much time and money on it. Great job
With cleaning up the cracks and repairs can’t that weaken the frame?

Why didn't he pressure wash that frame. It would have taken 5 minutes. That frame had the worst looking welds ever. But that was a great video
what primer you using ?
Would love to know the song toward the end when he’s repairing the fender. Can anyone help me?
Hey mate I have a 94 CR250 frame that’s pretty jacked up I believe they are chromoly did you use anything special when welding? Was thinking of finding someone to tig it but that will be expensive
Nothing special in what I did. Just a mig with mild steel wire.
I have a 1986 RM80 it's frame is black, engine is blue and plastics are yellow. Was the blue engine a design choise back then?
The 86 has a blue engine, yes. The frame should also be blue.
I think my brother has painted the frame black. It has some blue paint on where the back fender is.
Do you know where I can get a head and jug for a 1990 rm250?
Hello again! Is there a reason you opted against powder coating? Cheers

does the paintjob cover the frame number making it hard to read?

Super ! Would you restore mine ?
inagtkan restore frame harga kos rm250 hahaha, sory mudah terhibur
Where did you get plastic from I'm restoreing a 1993
Hey, the plastics I'm using are UFO. You can get them anywhere - eBay, bike shop, online stores etc.
what type of welder is that you used?
Just a basic MIG welder
Can you please fix mine
Were did you get the plastics
My local bike shop...
Tambêm tou montando uma
Will the bike be ridden ?
At least once for a photo! 😉
Why bother all the hard work if your just going to sand blast it
