I'm 73, my first limit of bass (10) back then was with Tom Manns "Little George", in shallow water. I believe named after a famous governor in Alabama. And after a few years Tom came out with a line through version which as you know aided in the bass not throwing them. This type lure is a search bait used by many of the pros on tour and a long held secret. I found a drug store getting out of the fishing lure business back in the early 70's. They were selling everything so for a set price I bought everything. Sold most of it, gave some of it away to friends, but kept all the Little Georges of which there were over 300. Great bait to catch bass! I once asked Tom Mann himself how he makes them last without losing them. He comically says I don't, I just keep a hundred in the boat at all times. Tom established record catches on this little bait. I won a few little tournaments myself with the help of "LITTLE GEORGE".
Weather is nasty hear. I just wanted you guys to know that after watching a couple dozen of your videos, "the one thing I like the most", is how you making my shopping so much easier. I just click on the links you provide and print out a screen shot and go shopping. "Now ya know" Thanks for all you do for giving us the information you do.
After watching this video a couple of years ago along with your blade bait tutorial I was intrigued… after applying what I learned by heading out to Tennessee in the dead of winter from So Cal for the last two years is that I am an official tailspin and blade bait junkie! No other way to put it! Thanks guys, you have made me a happy angler and no matter what time of year it is, no matter what state I may be fishing in, I can, and do, refer to your videos when I’m packing my baits for a trip! I’ll be on Chic this up coming February… hopefully I see ya guys zip by!
Every time I go out and apply your tips to my trips I have awesome success! I hope one day I get to meet you guys and thank you for helping me become a better angler!
You guys are always dropping serious knowledge. This video was awesome. I have 1 tail spinner in my arsenal and now I have 4 retrieves for it. Thanks so much for all that you do. 🔥🔥👊🏼👊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Couldn’t agree more on the deracoup. Last two summers I couldn’t stop catching with them. That tail spoon tends to fall off though. Lost a couple just on the cast.
I have followed this channel religiously I got my first bass on a crankbait On a jig Recently on the vision110 Jr by megabass! It's in the 20s here in tx and tomorrow I'm going to try the Gyro spinner tail by 6th sense ! Wish me luck
Another great bait similiar to this to try are the Jenko Shinobi Shad spinbaits... a 2” spybait designed for crappie... the smallies are hammering them on Chickamauga....
I still have the original Mann’s super George. It was a one knocker with tail spin. Little George was lead but the super was plastic. Made back in 70’s
Can’t wait to try this bait I got a small one off wish the white and red glow in the dark bait . If I like it I’ll get the 6 pack of bigger ones of Amazon
noticed you all favor maxcuatro braid...i've been using recently and not sure if i've run into bad luck, but i've had line breaks just tying blood knots, 20lb maxcuatro braid that is. i'd moved over from sufix832 considering sufix fades quickly. but, appears to me that sufix is the more durable line. wondered if you all had run into "bad" batches of maxcuatro braid at all. i'm still favoring sufix as it feels smoother and has held up better strength wise thus far.
I would love to try these lures, but at the ponds I fish, anything fished on the bottom with a treble hook, ain’t coming back. It’s snag central. But, I still like learning about it Matt...thanks!!
Caught me damn nice Largy at my local Spillway this morning with a T rig Keitech!! 🎣🎣🎣 its been so cold i couldn’t fish without my reels freezing up until today 🤙🏻
Question for Matt and Tim i hope you read it may help MANY. I've been a huge fan of tacticalbassin for a long time now and I've been watching your videos and i learn so much and i am thankful. Now for the question. When you guys are telling us what rods you use will you start telling us the tip action on it please for me that would help greatly. Xpride medium was i heard but like most video's y'all don't tend to specify the exact action on the rods. Do you think you guys can start doing that for us please?
Anyone else realize the every video like this matt does where he shows his "box" of x lure and its slap full of lures, or multiple boxes slap full to the top. Lol dude is a full on tackle junkie. Down the rabbit hole of every single technique. Ole boy can be getting his power and gas cut off and still press add to cart on tacklewarehouse. "Do I really need this I only have 3 days of food left at the house for The family ehh God will provide * scrolls down oh wow new s waver color *adds 5 to cart clicks confirm purchase" I love it great video matt you have a gift of teaching
Guys I urgently need your help. Would you consider the Shimano Expride 7'7" Heavy Moderate a miniature version of the famous 7'11" that you guys love for pitching? I fish in smaller bodies of water and 7'11" seems a bit too much. I'm wondering if I will get the same "this is the best pitching/flipping/punching rod in the world" feeling but in a shorter package. I really hope you can reply to me. Thanks guys for all the awesome content.
This may be a dumb question but ive kind of been wondering would it be effective to use a beetle spin with maybe a small minnow type plastic or some such-particularly this time of year in VA where were having lots of 50s days as of late
I have a question I live in Charleston South Carolina I fish at Clearwater pond the fish are very spooky to start with what would be a good winter lower to use Clearwater pond
This is about my other message how would you go about it catching spooky bass in Clear Water in the winter in Charleston South Carolina Clear Water pond
Not related to this video, but I am having some trouble deciding on a low profile reel for throwing larger swimbaits around 1-4oz. Would any reel in a 150-200 size work? For example would a shimano SLX 150 or a Shimano Citica 200?
matt i have some gently used tennis shoes i would be happy to trade you for a couple of your axe 3/4 to 1 oz tail spins . lol winters just around the bend!
I love this channel so much, but me trying to adapt to what Matt says on 4 rods... I'm a fucking genius.. I've been adapting to seasons on 4 dang rods. Get y'alls shit together...I've already been doing this.. COME ON!
Try the Mepps comet minnow. Puts in work on bass especially good for shore fisherman. Also can get them up to 1/2oz so you can really get it out there with a bait caster and 10-20lb line
Stoney Lonsome if you take a really long and stiff stick, like a piece of bamboo, fix a nail or a piece of metal to it, and get the metal red hot with a torch or something, then touch the nail to the string that the lure is hanging from. Will that work?

Love how diverse bassn is!
The 'Little Georgie' is a classic!
slow dropping and bottom bouncing!
I still go "retro" with the Matt Allen California Swim jigs...a bait way ahead of its time!
I love that anytime I want to see how to fish certain type of bait I can find how to’s on your channel!!
Matt, keep up the good work, yours is one of the few bass channels that I always find myself coming back to!
Love this video! Learned a bunch and got to see my childhood house in the background. ❤

Got to love little George classic tail spinner
Another great lesson, Matt - very well explained. Only problem is, now I've got more stuff to buy...
I've spent hundreds of dollars at Tackle Warehouse yet have only worked 6 mos in the last 2 years.
Couldn’t agree more on the deracoup. Last two summers I couldn’t stop catching with them. That tail spoon tends to fall off though. Lost a couple just on the cast.
There tail spins are killer for spotted bay bass in socal. Now I think I'll try it for largemouth
I know u guys are gonna bring us another best baits of 2019 like u did the other yrs! Love the channel!
I have followed this channel religiously
I got my first bass on a crankbait

Y'all caught some good ones. 🎣 I'm gonna have to give these a try. Should work well on the river I kayak fish. 👍
I'm going to check out your channel bro seems like you have some great content I love kayak fishing
Your hard worker great job and good explanation
Pike go absolutely bonkers for these things in my waters.
Great video! It was very informative. Now I have some new ideas for the next time I go fishing!

Matt has gone full garden nome.🧙♂️
Anything with a blade I find works great in the fall, nice video fellas!
Hey just wondering if you’ll ever do a review on dobyns high end Xtasy Rods
Love your excellent explanation!
Curious more about that revenge with the spinning gear. What weight rod and line
I would love to try these lures, but at the ponds I fish, anything fished on the bottom with a treble hook, ain’t coming back. It’s snag central.
But, I still like learning about it Matt...thanks!!
love the videos . can you guys do a video for us down here on the delta in the tidal waters still trying to target bass
Excellent content.
Caught me damn nice Largy at my local Spillway this morning with a T rig Keitech!! 🎣🎣🎣 its been so cold i couldn’t fish without my reels freezing up until today 🤙🏻
Matt, have you guys used the Owner STX 38 trebles? They make them in a size 8.... I just ordered a bunch to try on my blade baits...
You should do an underwater video on these to see the action and the way the fish react
Excellent.
You guys should do a video comparing smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass. Like how their behaviors and bait preferences differ from each other.
Deracup is one of the best alltime lure.
10:49 the bait busting behind his back😳
Matt- @ Tacticalbassin- how are these casting from shore??? Thanks!👍🏻🙏🏼

Is there any reason I couldn’t change out the Colorado blades for willow? Do you think it would affect the way the lure runs?
This may be a dumb question but ive kind of been wondering would it be effective to use a beetle spin with maybe a small minnow type plastic or some such-particularly this time of year in VA where were having lots of 50s days as of late

matt i have some gently used tennis shoes i would be happy to trade you for a couple of your axe 3/4 to 1 oz tail spins . lol winters just around the bend!
Matt what gear ratio is best with them?
I love this channel so much, but me trying to adapt to what Matt says on 4 rods... I'm a fucking genius.. I've been adapting to seasons on 4 dang rods. Get y'alls shit together...I've already been doing this.. COME ON!
Im waiting for a company to blow open the doors and come out with updated inline spinners aimed at bass.
Try the Mepps comet minnow. Puts in work on bass especially good for shore fisherman. Also can get them up to 1/2oz so you can really get it out there with a bait caster and 10-20lb line
Or you could use a mepps spinner it's basically the same thing
Ben Bockey other than they both have a blade on them, they are nothing alike
Bought that lures and snapped my line 1st cast in, smh. Deracoup
Stoney Lonsome if you take a really long and stiff stick, like a piece of bamboo, fix a nail or a piece of metal to it, and get the metal red hot with a torch or something, then touch the nail to the string that the lure is hanging from. Will that work?
Stoney Lonsome
Any luck with this technique?
👊👊👊👍
