  • Having spent 22 years working in Mountain Bike Media, I now work representing a bike brand - Mondraker.
    In this vlog I talk about how the role is different to my previous jobs, my link to the brand and a bit about what I've been up to. Features Morocco; Madrid; California and more!
    PS, sorry about the left channel Microphone audio. I literally recorded this in a one take just before leaving for Ft William!

Like you, my son is tall (6ft4) so find a bike that fits him has been a challenge to say the least! I have become a secret ambassador (lol) for the brand. If you guys need someone to represent,,, I may not be a world class racer , but I’m out in the community on a bike all the time , and attend all the races in this area that I can afford to go to ( I’m almost 50 only been ridding a few years now, and finish mid pack in most of my races in sports category) but getting better every year! Mondraker had innovations that pioneered and inspired the sport, why don't you give us an exclusive on how the forward geo came to be ect, was it a fluke? was it years of tests? it was all sudden and obvious for the whole industry to make bikes longer and slacker, what did ppl say at the time? who rode these new things, i myself think the brand is underrated maybe its a marketing thing others do better, maybe its a company that will keep true to what they sell and do, talk about it or else we are here to just assume . just for fun ill say i had the factor S, a great bike that lasted little as i broke the chain stays, i did use it on super rough terrain and i lowered the travel 20 mm that might have contributed. however i miss the bike and one day might factor to get a new one 😉

    Well, to be honest I truly wish mondraker would let you talk about future tech, I truly do not get why brands do not show their future tech,
    it will be moved to otherbrands anyway so in the long run - whats the point? It might be even like with that brand that created self centered front wheel, its their tech and no else is doing / working on sth like this. so the future tech hown might not even interest other brands,
    as for Fox vs rock shocks - probobly they will be taking tech from each other anyway,..

    • @DoddyMTBtech
      @DoddyMTBtech  3 місяці тому +2

      Mondraker will allow me to talk about future tech, but as I explained in this video - all the prototypes back at HQ have had prototype and early samples from other brands. As we - and other manufacturers- work with component brands on products, we can’t show their stuff until they agree. If that makes sense.
      But I will be able to show you some development stuff that we are doing. Hoping to get over there soon, so will see what’s going on 👍

    I went to Winterberg last year to test Mondraker at the IXS festival. It was awful. Not only did they only have one model to test, the stand was a shambles. It looked like a few very drunk students got a few tents and got handed a couple of bikes and were left alone to figure things out. Don’t see how this presentation fits with what you are telling us about this “amazing” brand.

      I can't speak about things that happened before my time. But I do know of the new plans that are happening this year, and it's nothing like what you unfortunately experienced. I've met a large percentage of the sales and demo staff - and everyone I've met are avid mountain bikers, that all want others to love bikes as much as they do. TBH, what you have said doesn't sound like anyone I've met - but as I said, it was before my time.

      yeah sure, I understand your comment. Something to know though - this is my personal channel and no one is asking me to do anything. It's honestly just a bit of fun for myself as I still want to make certain content that doesn't apply to the day job as such. If I talk about it here - it's because I want to. I have the Mondraker channel for my professional videos representing the company and the products. Sure, I'm wearing a Mondraker t-shirt, but I can wear what I want. I'm proud to represent them. I chose to work for the brand as I really love and believe in them. There's no hidden agenda here though with my personal content - what you see is what you get with me. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I'm dropping another video later on BTW 👍
