James, I once again applaud your thorough discussion of the financial side of boating. You're pulling back the curtain and helped viewers and shoppers better understand what it takes to 'dive in' to boating. So...I'll give this review another '10'! (Sorry about the wet socks...)

    I'm gonna give you a
    9/10 for entertainment,
    8/10 for product knowledge,
    8/10 for quality of production,
6/10 for staying dry (the wet sock let you down) and that gives me a total of
16/45, well maths was never my strong point.
Keep making the vids, always fun to watch, ps, if you could fall in the water occasionally for a bit of slapstick humour I might just give you a 10/10.
    Thanks

We recentley changed a Bavaria 33S HT for a 2018 Sea Ray 320 open with hard top, the best option here in the Balearic Islands, especially as she has A/C in the oockpit! Good to see that the rear facing seat squabs have been shortened, giving more space on the bathing platform. We continually have 10+ adults onboard and the lack of storage space is a pain for glasses, plates etc, so forget the BBQ grill - especially with our teak decking. A weekender IMO only for a young family. Bow seats are great for four people. The sliding front seat back needs a lock to secure it in either position - without it is dangerous. A well built & finished boat. Captain John, 40 years experience in the Med & Caribean

I remember when a new sea-ray was about $1000/ft. Now 10x. My income, unfortunately, has not kept pace with that multiple over the decades. Of course, the one I had used plywood under the cockpit carpet. Built to last!

Get rid of the stern drives (outdrives) in favour of outboards, improve the side profile aesthetics, add fold a down 'patio' as per the 40LX (?) and you're 97% of the way there in regards to a bloody ripper of a day (overnighter) boat.
Love the fact there's no clears to worry about at the helm.... No matter how good your trimmer is.... they will always leak. BTW. thoroughly enjoy your reviews and your candour... Fan Perth Western Aust.

Great review and really appreciate going through the cost of the investment. With that said, $8 a gallon for fuel which is $127 per hour at only 20 knots. Ownership according to this video cost per year in U.S. dollars is $38,000 (fuel, financing, etc) + $23,000 in fixed cost for a total annual cost of $61,000 (not including depreciation). As a broker who sells mostly SeaRays in Canada, I can tell you that the buy in cost of diesels over fuel is substantial and the service costs are much more. Unless you plan to put on a lot of hours the diesels are a waste of money. Additionally diesel fuel is much more expensive at this time than gas.

Nice, but not worth the money. Running costs alone go against it and then there's the cabin, what sort of galley is that. Clearly made for people who don't want or can't cook. I mean, you've got out of bed and fancy a slice of toast - get up darling so I can fold the table to put the plates out? It's just not practical enough and don't get me started me on that bathing platform, half of your berthing fees are right there and who cares if the back end drops down. Sure, a novelty to begin with but after that it serves no practical purpose . it's more about flash than functionality. Finally, it's typical of all American boats (and I know because I own one), they have maximised the internal space and left you nowhere to walk around the deck. If money is no object then indulge yourself but to me it's not a smart purchase

Swim platform not my cup of tea. No one is going to buy twin V8 petrol engines in Europe

These boats are made just down the road from me in FLA. One of the worst boats around. Run away... even for free! They were decent at best... 30 years ago! Buy a Stamas, Hatteras, Tidewater, Freeman, Yellowfin if you want a quality boat.
