I'm super skeptical of tricks like these usually, but I tried it on 3 completely dead batteries and they all worked! Thank you! Saved me a few hundred bucks!

@@Stingmni Awesome! Thank you for taking the time to let us know. What size battery were you working with?
i had to do that because if you leave the adapter in for the old style batteries it will suck all the volts out of it

This just worked on my small lithium ion 20v max! Thanks

ive done this with my roomba battery and jumped it with the dewalt and its still going strong 2 years later

I got myself a dc variable power supply that works well for this, slowly wind it up and then bang it on charge. Good hack !
Hello! What a great idea! Where did you purchase the power supply? I should pick one up too!
I had a dead craftsman battery and “jumped” it with a Dewalt battery. Don’t have to be the same mfg. Worked but shouldn’t you connect the ground first like you would on a car battery?
Good day to you! Thank you for your comments! You pose an excellent question! Does anyone have an answer about this??

beside that if it's lithuim battery then most time if a battery goes dead the is a high change that the battery is damge inside from going flat and lead to them either over heating and venting or worst case expolding and catch on fire

Not on a battery for power tools no, but with at battery for ecig and the same type as in most power tool battery

What happens when a brand new charger just continues to blink and never charges any battery new or old. And yes, it's pushed in all the way.
I haven't seen this issue before. It sounds like a faulty charger from how you describe it. Do you have another charger you can verify the battery health with?

It worked for me , thanks alot, but i used very thin guage wires and it was about to melt by bad.

It's never worked for me because the battery's have circuit boards in them that won't let you do that. You have to take the battery apart and connect the wires to the positive + and - negative sides of the battery. Just be really careful

Dewalt is the best!!!!!
I am a fan of DeWALT too! Do you use the 2 amp hour battery as well?
This is how you start lithium fires. I mean sometimes you get lucky but the one time you don't you basically burn the house/garage/job site/what have you down.
Yikes! I certainly do not want that to happen! Have you had a bad experience with this?
@@jeffcunha9114 I personally haven't but my cousin has. I know not to basically short a lithium battery
Thank you for your comments. I hope your cousin is okay! Was he reviving a dead battery like this when it happened?
Has anyone else in this community had a bad experience with DeWALT batteries?
@@MaheerKibria He probably left it connected too long. There is a large amp draw when you do this. That's why he said 5 sec only. You can repeat it if it doesn't work the first time but don't leave the batteries connected for too long.
Thank you very much for your comment! We appreciate your support!
What both of batteries are dead, is there other possible solution for jumpstart?
You will need another good 20v jump battery. Do you have a buddy who you could borrow one from?
Or use the three year warranty and get it replaced
Good day to you. Thank for the suggestion. 👍
This method is not working for me. My charger blinks a few times and the goes solid on, suggesting that it’s full charged but there are no lights on the battery lighting up and it won’t power my screw gun. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Good day to you! Sorry to hear that your battery is giving you trouble! Are you pushing the battery onto the charger all the way until it clicks a second time?
How do we test the chargers
Good day to you. Try different batteries if you are having trouble with a charger. Also if you have two chargers, you can tell if one is not working properly!
Yeah , it working but after 10-15 min battery dining again on charger

I have one that won’t charge past 1 bar but charger shows a solid red light. I used this battery today in a weed eater until it ran down. Now it won’t fully charge.
Good day to you. Is the battery 'clicking' all the way on the charger? It should actually snap into place with a 'click'. Let me know! Thank you for your comment.
@@jeffcunha9114 yes it clicks twice. One charger shows a solid red light, as if it’s fully charged (but it only shows 1 green bar). Another charger shows a fast flashing red light (charger says it’s a problem pack or charger).

Doesn’t work for my battery idk why
@@AFpaleoCon Sorry to hear about that. What symptoms are you seeing? What size battery are you working on?
@@jeffcunha9114 I’m using the DCB201 it’s 20v 1.5aH. They’re from like 2017 but two work perfectly and one doesn’t. I tried the jumpstart technique and that didn’t work. So I heard about the releasing gas from the CID mechanism and tried that but couldn’t get anything to release. Maybe when I jumped them I did it for too long? They’re the same battery so I would’ve thought they would just equalize in voltage. But the non working battery got super hot and the wires got super hot very quickly, within probably 4 seconds and then I unplugged everything. Not sure how to fix it.
@@AFpaleoCon Thank you for the update. It sounds like it may be time to retire that battery. You could try cycling it several times as some in this community had success doing so.

It is crazy that the battery can be that dead. We have a DeWALT radio, and if I forget to turn it off, it can completely kill the battery. Have you experienced this before?
God, it's a madhouse. When I see people who give instructions on how to start batteries for a short time by charging them from another battery, it's stupidity and idiocy. It's not a repair, it's a temporary solution. After the battery discharges while working, this problem will occur again. How can you post such stupid videos with advice?
