Legit thought you had a fake ‘stache. Good video
That Movember stache was wicked.
Yes I was questioning it lol

How’s it going ?.

I am glad you explained your job. I always thought that person handing the instruments to the surgeon was the nurse. As a matter of fact today was the 1st time I ever heard of a surgical tech, that's what brought me here
Thanks for educating me on this field of medicine. I had brain surgery for the resection of a tumor back in 2011. These videos really give me a look into what occurred to help save my life. Thumbs up!
I start my surgical technologist courses January 2023. I’m excited
How it's going
Course duration?
@@AvsajdaBeevi 2 year associates degree. Loved certain aspects but now in school for RN.
Killer video! Beyond words! I’m just sitting here shaking my head and going wow. Sincerely blown away..
Thank you so much for your UA-cam channel. I've watched all your videos and you have been a huge inspiration to me. I was very nervous and not knowing much but always wanted to assist in the OR as I once was a patient and the surgeon saved my life. So I wanted to give back and decided I wanted to check it out. Your videos pushed me to do more research and I am happy to say I got accepted to Mandl Institute in NYC and just finished my first week of school. It's so much to learn but I love the challenge. Keep posting videos there is nothing out there that gives us much of an idea than your videos and I want to thank you for taking the time to give us future Surgical Technologist a glimpse behind the scenes. Keep Inspiring
This could be an ad for tech's! Use it in classrooms and such
Been doing this for over 30 yrs, good living and I STILL love it, now I’m a trained First Assist also, so we also suture and close patients wounds, that wasn’t covered here just some additional info
Years ago 1970-1973 in the army we where called operating room technicians.Besides scrubbing we could also circulate.First we when to medical corpsman training then operating room technician training.I learned quite a bit,and was far ahead when I went to university for my RN,BSN.
Great video! I do the same job as you in the UK, although my job title is Operating Department Practitioner (we get called ODP's for short). Your videos have been very informative and have made me think about how things are slightly different when compared to the hospital I work in for the NHS.
Wow .. what an maxing video . 💚The other day in school , my teacher was lecturing us and then she brought up your channel and said “ does anyone watch surgical tips “ i immediately raised my hand and said “ i do !!!!!” I got so happy my teacher watches your videos ! Please don’t ever delete this channel ! I get so excited when i watch your videos and i cannot wait to graduate and start working as ST . 💚🙏🏼
Awesome sauce.
this is amazing video seri for developing country guys like me from Vietnam. I studied alot from these videos. Wish you all the best so that you can do more for us. THanks alot to you!!!!
this video will really help alot of graduates from the medical field thank you for this wonderufl video
This was a great video and it definitely gave me some more insight!
this is a way to be helpful and i like it. i might consider this as my career path. there's just so many options in the medical field.
yeessss that short video told so much more than expected i loved it simple and perfect .
I did the exact same thing at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill in its oral surgery unit. I was specifically trained for that after a year of training as a dental assistant, which included learning about the entire oral surgery process and all tools required. I had no idea that the same role existed for non-oral medical surgery. I definitely assumed they were all RNs.
In unc this field is available surgical technologist
Thank you for posting this.
Great video man keep it up. I just started my freshman year in college this August and can't wait to be a surgical tech
Eduardo Canales how is it going?
Could u become one as a premed ?
Good video. I like how specific the job is and this is very similar to the job I have now at Grease Monkey.
I know a lot of people might be like "What the heck is he talking about?".
What I mean is that at Grease Monkey I pretty much just assist the Pit Crew and Managers in conducting preventative maintenance procedures on cars. That is pretty similar to a surgical tech because they assist surgeons in surgical procedures.
Being a surgical tech is something that is very interesting to me and it sounds like something that I can do pretty well.
A healthcare professional who is always exhausted!!! We work our asses off. Been a CST now for 27 years. Been traveling for almost 5 years. Glad I made the decision 27 years ago, it’s a wild and adventurous ride!🌺
Wow !!! Pretty nice video !!! I’m on the third month of my surgical tech program ! Can’t wait to actually be out in the field !!!! Your videos have helped me so much !!!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into them and for the information you have provided !!! Love your channel !!!!!
Mgabbz C hows the program going ?
austin mcguire is actually going ok!!! Our anatomy and physiology teacher sucked though!!! He didn’t teach us anything he eventually got fired !!! Right now we are learning setting up and keeping it under 30 minutes .... but so far so good !!!
Mgabbz C hello, I just finished my form four and am much interested in surgical tech program please can you tell me the grade that is needed so as person to join??kindly
Nice mustache man! Clinicals are going great. I should graduate in May.
I will be checking out more videos, I am currently in school going through classes and will graduate around August or September 2019
tdunc239 how is it been going for you?
Hope you enjoy your career
Thank you for the helpful information.
this videos are too addictive and educative, keep it up
Appreciate that.
Proud of my fellow surgical tech
Love this field
I like this video because surgical techs are the operating room back bone
Emel Kemp Hamilton
You have an awesome job!!
Beautiful video.
Wish they would’ve opened up the materials with gloves on to keep the area sterile, but thanks for the video. Very informative
I start in 2 weeks! This video helped me mentally prep ❤️
How do I get into it
Thank you. Planning to be a Surgical Technologist. Wish me luck 🙂
Wow brilliant!
Thank you for sharing
Nice video to watch.. where most of them were been credited to nurses only. 2 thumps up up to the skies..
Love it💕
Thank you very helpful😊
No lie this hyped me the fuck up
Love your videos in school now!! But bro that mustache 😂
Sounds like a sweet job!
Hello all the way from Australia! I absolutely love your videos! They are very informative and quite inspiring, I am about to start a bachelor or nursing but am considering doing surgical tech now because of your videos. Can you please do a day in the life of a surgical tech. This video definetly has to be one of my favourites, but I also thoroughly enjoy the small break down ones too. :) P.S as being a patient in hospitals for about 21 years I have to say these videos have really made me appreciate surgical techs even more than what I have in the past and how much you guys contribute to making surgery so successful. Had a craniotomy for an anerysum clipping earlier this year and boy do I feel for the techs in my case since it was about 5 hours long! Keep up the great work. And looking forward to more of your videos.
I would love to do a "day in the life" video, but its just hard here in the states because of HIPAA violations. Can't have any type of potential patient identification in any videos, which would make it VERY hard to do in real time.
Thats totally understandable, I think it would be the same down here.
Hi I don't think we have surgical techs in Aus, I'm a scout/scrub nurse in a public hospital. We're all nurses in our OTs. We have anaesthetic techs thats about it, pretty rare though.
Great video
Good job
I know I'm late, but thanks for the video. I am currently in a situation: I decided to take the plunge and go straight to a 4 year school with hopes of getting into medical school. However, I was not prepared for the rigor of the classes I have to take as a biology major and I had to retake some classes a few times and now my GPA is suffering and I'm way behind. My advisor told me to go into a program at a different school for histology (I'm interested in tissues and pathology so it makes sense) but I think I'm gonna go be a surgical tech because I get into the OR and am able to see everything and even assist. What I want to go to med school for isn't surgery per se, but autopsies and everything else that comes with being a forensic pathologist. I just hope having this experience will help me get accepted into the medical school I want to attend. I'm in my second year (and way behind) and using this as a chance to get my life together and basically start over and to get some solidarity. I'll be looking at more videos for sure.
cool story dude
What is an OR?
nah bro this is impressive, im going for it .
I’m starting to look into being a surgical technician... curious how intense is the schooling ? I’m looking at a trade school that the program is 18 months long for an associate degree... are you able to work full time and do that type of program ?
Honestly just go for your associates RN... you can be a scrub nurse and do exactly what a surgical tech can do, plus more. I’m a surgical tech and I don’t think it’s worth it, when you could just get your RN in about the same amount of time.
@@laurenhills239 is associates register nurse hard to get into?
Register nurse program is a competitive field!! Good luck 👍
assassin Yes for my school it was way harder to get into the nursing program than the surgical tech program. That’s why I originally chose surgical tech because I didn’t have the grades & perfect GPA to get in. I’m going to have to retake my prerequisites and try to get As in A&P, micro, chemistry.. etc and try to get a 4.0 to even be considered for applications. I’m stressing out tbh but I need to get out of the surgical tech field, I feel stuck.
Jessica B yes so competitive 😭
I waiting for him to pull the mustache off
Could you do a video on the instruments used in different cases in interventional radiology?
Awesome
What is that music in the background ? Where do you get it ?
Ha! Ha! Ha! Love the mustache gig.
Aaaaghrr....you look sooo "Mario" with the 'stache :)
Sweet :)
I like the "teneur" of this video...dramatic and building up to climax...
When I finish community college ,can I go straight to the job???
MS after graduate is going on ...I am student of final year ..graduation in OTT ...hope for getting admision in MS next after this BS degree ..from your country which schools offering ?can you help me in this??
Do you have to know how to sterilize instruments, before becoming a surgical tech? I was told that I needed to get into sterile processing and learn how to sterilize these instruments before I can get into the surgical tech program
It's a you, Mario!
Hey mam thanks for the videos about this I am currently in high school and I would love to pursue this career path and these videos help me get a general understanding about this stuff and what’s going on in there and the roles y’all play
*sir not ma’am
I v always wantes to be a surgical technologist it was my lonely dream to become a part of a team but my parents did not want to be on the medical field and then i become a pastry ( chef) but my heart is always there.... 💉💊💉🧽
You are also a good chef
Proud of bring surgery tech💪
U get paid good?
Hello, could you please explain to me what’s the difference between a surgical tech and a scrub nurse? Thank you!!
Keren Bettero they are the same a Surgical tech and a scrub person are the same although depending on long they went to school and whether or not they got their associates degree they can become more than that
What is the qualification needed for it.
Yes sir surgical tech is best
In the UK we have Operating Department Practitioners who undergo OR specific training very similar to what you outline here. In recent years the profession has been advancing and is now a recognised healthcare profession on par with nursing, and we're on the same pay grade as nurses etc. I was just wondering how it is in the US, are you seen as at the same level as nurses and does your pay reflect that?
+uri 876 our pay is all over the place. I wish it were more organized in the US. We are not on the same pay scale as nurses, but also a tech on the east coast can make 18/hr and one on the west coast can make 40/hr. Pay varies greatly and I wish it were more regulated and on pay with nurses as yours is.
That's crazy. Like I said it was the same here up until about 18 or so years ago. It's such a huge responsibility to work in surgery and I hope it gets more organised over there. Keep up the brilliant work with your channel, it's a really good insight into a profession that most people don't really understand (for example a lot of people think I'm a doctor when I first explain what I do!). I've sent a link to your channel to a few people who've expressed interest in working in the OR and they always get a lot out of it.
I’m it good at math especially multiplication and up. Do you use math in this career?
I am interested in this job how many years of study to learn technology surgery?
What if a scrub nurse has to use the bathroom during surgury
I wanna get into this but I'm nervous 🥺 so much information but I wanna do this
Same I want to go to school for this , I want to sign up for classes at a community college . Hopefully I can
Hello sir I'm from Pakistan and I'm doing BS surgical technology from Pakistan..... Sir how I get job in uk.?? Plz sir guide me
Do you need to have a health science degree?
How does one become a surgical tech?
Sir your course name operation theatre technology
Nice tash
Lol of the mustache
can i migrate to us a as a surgical technologist
Do you ever have to be alone in a room with a dead body ?
wao "Movember"
Insurance almost the perfect thing.
Just go for your RN, and you can literally be a scrub nurse and make way more doing the same thing as a surgical tech. I’m going back for my RN after being a surgical tech for 7 years, way more opportunities and room for advancement.
please tell me more about your surgical tech experience.. why do u not like it, what do u like about it, what was ur salary etc.. email me at sarahfig98@hotmail.com
Sarah F I sent you an email!
@@laurenhills239 can you please let me know as well I want to start school next year but I want to know why you didn’t like it?
@@gabrielaolmedoalarcon4554 If you become a surgical tech that is the only thing you will be able to do. The pay is going to cap out at a fairly low rate and there is no room for advancements. In nursing you can work as a surgical nurse or even as a nurse circulator. You make more money and have endless opportunities by having your RN. I’m in my nursing program and I love it. I graduate in December and I definitely just wish that I would have chosen nursing first and not have settled with surgical tech.
@@laurenhills239 how long do you have to go to college to become a rn ?
How long does it take to become a surgical tech?
2 years for associate degree, in my school
May I ask you a private question via email?
he is cute! he has an actor's face.
I'm trying to find a surgical technologist class around me, so far not having any luck. :-/
Sorry to hear that : (

how to become a ST while in college????
Typically, you're enrolled in a college that offers the program! It is usually a year long

I thought everyone in the surgery room was either a nurse or doctor. I could have skipped nursing school 😵
Do you need a college degree for this ?
Not necessarily. It depends on the employer; they will prefer CERTIFIED applicants, primarily. You obtain that qualification by passing your exam. Some schools/programs offer an Associates of Applied Sciences degree....some will give you a Certificate :) Again, a degree is not required, generally.
@@9290SC ummm yeah you need one. Surgeons are perfectionists
You make me loose brain cells with that shit. Like seriously? Do you really think a surgeon is going to let some dumb ass go into their OR and prep and help out? Hell no! SMFH🤦🏽♀️
These guys are so underpaid for what they do

The ad that I just saw about the police has pissed me off so bad like we’re not saying get rid of the police just split the funds instead of a officer arriving to help stop someone kill themself send a trained professional like wtf
Lol
So are you a surgeon or a surgical technologist?
