Johnson was a qualifier. It was the first win for Agassi in New York after two straight 1st round losses in years 1986-1987.

What was this Philip Johnson playing with his forehand?! Normally he would hit a normal one-handed forehand, but sometimes it looked like as if he was hitting a two-handed left-handed backhand instead of a right-handed forehand...Very confusing style.

Philip Johnson is my tennis coach haha he would hit a two handed forehand if the ball was in reach for attack, but if he had to run down a ball he would his a one handed forehand so he could reach for the ball. Truly an amazing athlete!
