At question B you have multipled the equation by x square if the product wasn't zero would we multiple that to

Yes you can multiply by any number or x as long as you do it on both sides (before equal sign and after equal sign). If two numbers are equal you can multiply or divide both sides by the same number to simplify your equation. Whenever I multiply by x or any number it’s mostly it is to avoid fraction. So yes for equations you can multiply. You can try the same question by multiplying both sides by x^3 instead of x square and you will see that the result is all the same. Q b is 1-5/x -6/x^2 = 0
If you put -2 you get 1+ 5/2-6/4 = 1+ 5/2 -3/2 = 1+ 1= 2 and not zero. Can you double check your work? We both should get the same answer

x(x-2)-3(x+2)=0
(x-3)(x+2)=0

Two numbers that adds up to -5 and multiplied -6 are not -2 and -3; -2 +-3 is -5 but when you multiply -2 and -3 it’s not -6 that’s why we use number 1 and -6. That means you can write the equation
x^2 -5x -6 as
x^2 +x -6x -6 = 0
X(x+1) + -6(x+1) = 0
(X-6)(x+1) = 0
X=6 or x = -1
You can replace the solution and check that way you know the answer is correct. If you see your calculation one of them is (x-2) one is (x+2) you can’t Group different items. Please let me know if it’s not clear I will make a short video for you no worries just let me know
