A lot of people saying they love SRV! Check out our Stevie Ray Vaughan tips and tricks video ua-cam.com/video/DvuvrSCkK1k/v-deo.html!
Just got my first strat yesterday! A 2006 fender MIM 60th anniversary, i've been playing it non stop since I got it, love it
Enjoy but stop, eat, sleep, and say high to the family if you've been playing it since yesterday.
Congrats! I remember when i got my first "real" guitar for christmas, first was a crappy mini Rogue. But that Christmas in 2005 I got a Fender Strat Made in Mexico that was white with a maple neck. Looked a lot like the one Jimi used at Woodstock. And it was love at first site man. I will never get rid of her. Now the frets are worn to nearly nothing, my paint started chipping so i took the rest off giving it a natural wood look, fingerboard has worn finger spots where you can tell I play a lot...take car of yours and love it everyday. Nothin like a bond between a person and that one special guitar. Shine On
@@scottphillips7368 I will dude, love the positivity man, its a great guitar
Wonderful example. If you can do it, that 6 screw trem works as good as a 2 point. Lemme hit ya up on Facebook(my profile is my real life name and person) so search and I will show you, how to unlock any Stratocaster, to work as intended. Immeasurably better than most guitars.
@@CJZM7777 why? They won't die and disappear after a month of solid enjoyment. A real deal Strat is something to behold, and be wowwed by.
Jimi Hendrix & John Frusciante
Favorite Strat player , Buddy Guy , David Gilmour , Stevie Ray Vaughn
Great video. Gilmour and SRV were the reason I bought my strat. The original 50s maple necks were one piece with the truss rod being inserted through a slot in the back. Which is why they had maple boards only and fenders have the skunk stripe on the back of the neck. From 59 they started with the slab boards.
Don't forget Buddy Holly. The first well known artist that played a Strat
Exactly. He brought it into the fray as a guitar that dusted all others. He is the original Strat hero.
@@caiusmadison2996 I guess you could call him the Guitar Hero
precision bass wrong picture there! But cool facts! @1:34
Whoops! Technical difficulties there but thanks for watching ;)
Fav strat player: John Mayer, David Glimour, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, and John Frusciante.
Dave Murray for sure.
Dave Murray is my favorite Strat player along with Eric Clapton and David Gilmour
.. another name on the left handed strat master..
Eric Gales
Jimi Hendrix and Ritchie Blackmore are amazing
Same
Contrary to the common practice to rout neck for truss rod from the front and then glue rosewood fret board, Leo thought that having neck made from single piece of wood and rout it from back side was most efficient way of production. I believe that later he started putting rosewood fret boards since that was standard for all traditional acoustic instruments - but still kept routing from the back. And so, we still have skunk stripes on Fenders today :)
Mark Knopfler, Eric Johnson, Nile Rodgers -- just to throw in some new names.
I’ve been a Stratocaster fan for years and I have a MIM Plus Top Stratocaster which I love!! I’ve heard that same story about Keith Richards about having Fender relic his new guitar (a Telecaster I believe it was). Great video, love this series!!
Dave Murray is my favorite Strat player hands down. It's to choose. So many famous Strat players out there. Dave Murray has almost consistently played Strats since day one of Iron Maiden. His black HSH Strat was the first guitar I fell in love with. My first guitar was a store modded Hondo Strat copy. The store owner installed a loaded pickguard with two DiMarzio super distortions and a single coil. It sounded amazing. I payed $350 for it in 1983.
Always will be Gilmour
Love David but can't mention Stratocaster without Stevie.
@@SuperBroncosguy Exactly, some players actually work. Other's, when working, put many to sleep. Thats the fault most of all, David Gilmore, and the 20 minute, 50 note solo. What a crazy fad, play slow as shit, and bend for effect. Its cool, but its not the best, not by a long mile.
The 3 tone Sunburst there on the very very right reminds me of John Mayer signature which he often used during 2001-2005 tours of his albums
As someone who lives near Corona, CA, I can tell you its about a 3-4 hour drive. Most of that time spent in traffic both in Temecula and what been dubbed the "Corona Crawl"
Clapton! Got me interested in music and the blues in particular.
Jeff Beck is my favorite guitarist of all time, so the strat thing comes naturally for me lol I have 2
Dagan, you're great! Love the way you explain anything
Greetings from México ✌🏻
Absolutely SRV is the best!!🤘💪🏻💪🏻🎸
Claptons Blackie was made from 3 different Strats. He originally bought 6 for around 100 dollars each. He gave one to Pete Townsend and the other 2 I forget. One I think was Jeff Beck. Anyway he kept 3 and made Blackie from the 3 guitars. He always preferred the 50s V shape neck and still has them in his custom shop signature model. The Stratocaster was designed by Leo Fender and Freddie Tavarez. Originally only available in 2 tone sunburst and Ash body, until they eventually became available with an Alder body and 3 tone burst.
Love the Squier Stratocaster 70s Vibe behind there.
My first electric guitar was a Stratocaster around 1986.
To me the most comfortable guitar to play.
The reason i got mine.
It is the best guitar that has ever been made
Finally own a 60s Vintera Strat, man oh man its a hell of a guitar.
Wow
I just found a nice, finish checked, well played in 1979 Strat hardtail and I’ve learned what is so awesome about these guitars. I’ve always been a Gibson player but this thing is so good I think I’ll be sprinkling in some Fender stuff to the collection going forward.
No doubt SRV, Clapton, Mayer !
Jimi?
Nice to know 🙂
I watch your videos and reviews since quite a time now, the way you speak and move remind me of Jack Sparrow 😉
Great content!
Tom delonge's iconic white sticker strat. And the surf green too!
I got my Fender American Performer in Raw Ash a few days ago and I love it. Feels so good
Iron Maidens Dave Murray is my favourite strat player
So who's your favourite strat player, and why is it Stevie Ray Vaughn?
Lol.
He is a good example of "go your own way". So he will always stand out for it.
The necks for the MIM Strats are currently (at least as of Oct 2018 when I toured the plant) made in the USA. They cut and formulate all the necks for USA and MIM in the Corona factory. They shipped partially finished down (cut and sanded, but without stain or frets) to Ensenada Mexico for finishing, which consisted of fretting, sanding, tinting and assembly. When I asked why they did this, I was told it was cheaper to make all of the necks in one place, and the finishing, which takes the most time, being farmed out to MX where it can be done cheaper.
John Fruciante RHCP super funky and creative player gives the peppers such a unique sound tracks like soul to squeeze and snow hey oh are just legendary and unmatched by others.
John Mayer is my inspiration
Not seeing enough John Mayer posts!
Ahren Wagner for real! I love John Mayer
Hope you become better than him. I'm sure that'll make him proud! Work hard and good luck!
Sandip Biswas he’ll only become better if he practices better and harder than Mayer did. That’s a challenge in and of itself.
@@route6666 Yeah, for sure, greatness doesn't come free of cost right?
Great series
David Gilmour, by far my fav strat player
Just ordered a strat from warmoth about 2 months ago, roasted maple neck with a single SH5 humbucker and a volume knob, Gibson scale length and holo flake finish. I cannot WAIT!
Thank you Dagan. I love your videos. My choices would be, dead, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Alive, Jeff Beck.
this video is so informative !!😃😃😝
Eric clapton is my favorite strat player. I have a fender HSS player series with maple fretboard on the way to me RIGHT NOW! I'm dying with excitement! :)
Mine are hendrix, John frusciante and Joe bunton
Rory Gallagher has to be one of them for sure!
Irish national treasure
Lost legend *OF* the Stratocaster.
I like the Keith Richards relic story. I can close my eyes & envision after the entire population of the planet has perished. Keith playing the last New Strat that came out of the Fender factory. But, looking like the 1st 1954 after it had been played & loved for 3 or so hundred years. Of course Cher is singing as Keith plays. All to entertain Betty White, the only other living soul on the planet.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏👏
Amazing video. This weekend I bought my second Stratocaster (a professional ii), here in US. My other Stratocaster is a model called Traditional (American made) and I bought it in Paraguay (I am from Brazil.
Dagan is my fav strat player!
i just love your vibe 😎 idc about strats dagan... i play bass and stringed instruments which aren’t guitars
Wow, favourite? Clapton, Hendrix, Vaughn or Beck. All legends playing a legend.
What that Strato's color which he took on hand? When it behind him and in the dark, the color looks like blue and when he took it with it in the lights,it's green.....That's amazing.
I’d have to say Kenny Wayne Shepard, a true blues legend
Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante, Mike McCready in no particular order
Got to be Robin Trower! Did know all these facts, but still fun to review.
Not sure if I have my facts right but I heard that the Jazzmaster had a Rosewood fingerboard with binding that could be interchangeable with the Stratocaster and alot of guitarist preferred it and that was around the time fenders came out with their custom shop where you can customize your colors like seafoam green and candy apple red ect... but again I'm not sure I'm not big on fenders
David Gilmour. Love your channel.
John frusssscccciiiiaaanntttteeee !!!!!!
Sorry overtyped everything, absolutely in love with my inspiration john 💙
RON ASHETON from THE STOOGES, so underrated
So underrated!!!
@@PMTVUK Yeah right ? Why no one gives a f*** about him ? The guy invented Punk in 1969, many years before The Ramones and Sex Pistols.
All of them!!!
Tie between John Frusciante and David Gilmour...not exactly similar players but hey I will always love them both.
My favorite Strat player is Yngwie Malsteen. I honestly don’t get why he uses them. It wouldn’t be my first choice for that style.
Jimi hendrix, SRV, John mayer, some of my favorites hehe
Bonnie Raitt 1st female guitarist with a signature model "Strat" flame top maple blue with white pearloid
1:35 That's a *JAZZ* bass!
About preferred strat players I would say that mentioning SRV, John Frusciante and John Mayer finally comes down to Hendrix. And if not preferred, one of the most important ones would be Fender's friend Dick Dale, both as a creator and a pioneer.
I had already heard about Keiith Richards from someone else, so I'm guessing it's true!
I don't think Leo Fender ever took control of fender after selling it, I think the people managing it raided money and bought it back and undid some things and did their own weird changes for a while
I have that sonic grey strat!
What do you mean the first signature is eric clapton? wasn't it the Mary Kaye which came out in 56?
I love a sea foam green
Hughie Thomasson, Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher
SRV#1
wait the bass that popped up at 1:36 isn't a precision bass...
i think it's a jazz bass
The one thing I don't like about a strat is the bridge pickup, too much bite and not enough low end. I plan on hooking up mine to the middle tone control to get some use out of it.
The “70’s” headstock first appeared in December of 1965 on the Stratocaster.
John Frusciante one of best strat players ever , behind Jimi Hendrix , Clapton is one of kind but he played everything & was Gibson guy for years . John Mayer I love on a strat , David Gilmour , Stevie Ray Vaughan , last but not least Yngwie he made the strat even more popular because he brought in different genre lovers into strat
Dave Murray!
For me, even tie between srv and gilmour
Original marketed for country players, the trem bar could be used to mimic a steel guitar.
My favourite strat player is Josh Klinghoffer
Back in the mid-80s I remember the Tokai Strats from Japan were better than the Fender version as Fender were 'going through a bad patch'. I bought my first electric guitar, a Squier Strat for £179 in 1988 and the body was plywood. I kid you not, I've still got it packed away in a cupboard somewhere.
My favorite strat player is myself. I'm awesome.
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Strat is a working man’s guitar. Easy to fix. Easy to modify. Comfortable body shape. Five different selections with the three pick ups, but you can get Humbuckers and do even just 1 or 2 pick ups. My only beef (have owned a Mexican strat my parents bought me in High School and a cheap Starcaster in a 3 tone burst later as an adult) is where the volume is. I like to Palm mute and strum about there and I have turned my volume to zero accidentally while strumming hard. Prefer a Telecaster, Les Paul set up over the volume and two tone pots on a strat. Other than that, both strats I owned played quite nicely.
Fender chose Maple, because it was readily available, and he believed the pickup was key in the sound, so typical woods where not used, from the start of Fender. It was on purpose, because this wood was at the time very cheap and very accessible. Leo took into account price point for the tech advantage of his instruments. If he used Mahogany, and Spruce tops, his guitars would have never caught on because they would have been completely unaffordable to anyone. So thats why Alder, Pine (Blue Spruce in the case of Femder, a little known fact.) Swamp Ash, Canadian and American Rock Maple for necks, which can feature Bird's Eye. Indian, originally, and later, Brazilian rosewood fretboards. These are all exotic by Femder standards, and as such, place it's original technical advantage, outpaced for most. Thank God manufacturing became much more friendly toward common North American woods, as they are VERY musical.
Another fact, the shape of the Precision, was adopted for the Stratocaster, as to make a pair of similar guitars/basses and make a Band Set.
Jazzmaster and the later Jazz bass, where made to make a second setup that looked great and sounded same, but wasn't so matched as Strat and the Precision.
Billie Joe Armstrong gotta be my fav
Great fyi you showed a fender jazz bass at 1:37 instead of what you actually said which was a precession bass.
Without a doubt!!
Jimi Hendrix
It goes between Malmsteen and Tom Morello
Yngwie Malmsteen! My favourite strat player
Jimi and Yngwie. HANK MARVIN !
Ron Asheton for sure
My favorite strat player is, Jimi Hendrix
Bradley Sublime
That wasn’t the model of precision bass for that year though?
SRV and slow hand!
1:35 "precision bass" but the pic is of a Jazz bass
Favorite strat player is Sam Fender... go figure! I got one because of him
Ritchie Blackmore for me.
