We run legit miles in our shoes and provide honest, no BS reviews of running shoes, running gear, and running races.
I've run many races in the next percent and loved them. The Alphafly is on another level. The added weight is imperceptible. The feeling you get is like nothing else I've ever experienced. It's like a marshmallow with a spring. It makes you want to go faster and faster. I ran a 12k in them and marveled at how good I felt the next day. The ultimate race/recovery shoe.
Great review, I own both Alphafly Next % and Vaporfly Next % and I prefer the Alphafly, definitely more rebound. Stack height in the Alphafly doesn't bother me and they have more room in the toe box.
The BITR transparency, honesty, and humor is appreciated. Personally, I just got the Mango Next%. Looking forward to seeing starting lines in 2021.
That mango 🥭 is DRIP
Owning both the Vaporfly Next%'s and the Alphafly's, I prefer the the Vaporfly's. The Vaporfly is lighter and more stable while the Alphafly's are a bit heavier (every ounce counts!) and the stack height makes it feel like you can turn your ankle if you're not careful. Importantly, running in the Vaporfly's feels more natural.
Same here. VF up to half Marathon. AF for marathon (and even better for Ironman)
@@olivierberthelot5992 That's the way to go!
love the nubbins on the laces
Right?! They are very tactile.
Just received my Mangoes (wife bought them as surprise) loved how light and bouncy these are!
However, since my wife expected the AtomKnit to fit more like FlyKnit (ref the Zoom Fly FlyKnits); she bought them a size too big (I tried again to test them out this morning and it was just too much movement). What I can say is you can instantly feel the impact of those zoom air pods.
Nike was hella cool about it and scheduled an exchange for a size 11. Can’t wait to really test these bad boys out and put ‘em away til racing season. (Well.. hopefully, one day 🥺😢😂).
The comment about walking in it is spot on! puzzling why this ends up on hypebeast... must be the hype. 😂 way back with vaporfly next% too.
Fantastic & simple review. Thumbs up
Love the Trader Joe bag comment on the Atomknit Upper 😂
Never heard the upper referred to as a bag of apples. LOL! Also the shots of y'all running through downtown, makes me miss home. Enjoying the Alphafly, but felt like the Vaporfly was a lot more natural to my stride.

Going to use a new pair of Alphafly for race day (1 or 2 marathons) and then use them as a daily trainer in preparing the next race, for which I'll use a new pair of Alphafly. I think this can be the right way to use these shoes.
They hold up pretty well.
@@Believeintherun I totally agree, but I noticed a decrease in bounciness after 100-150 miles compared to new ones, that's why I would use a new pair (just broken in a bit) on race day.
Too expensive for me to wear for daily trainers! I'll use them for raced day and wear the $180 4 percent closeouts I got for tempo, threshold and speed workouts.
@@charliewatkins4571 good point, indeed. As Alphafly Next% hold up pretty well, but tend to loose some responsiveness in about 100 miles, I prefer to use them for training than letting them on the shelf after I used them for 1-2 marathons.
This shows is just sooo much fun to run with
I purchased these and they are comfortable and extremely springy. Only downfall is they run extremely narrow, I have a normal width foot, and they fit tight around me, I can only imagine someone with a wide foot in these. Something to consider, I also own the vaporfly next% and they're overall lighter and more comfortable.
Personally I find it is deceptive on that front. They are very hard to get on so narrow in that sense but once I did actually found them voluminous in the toe box and more so than any other shoe in that I have a full thumb width of space down the side but have my normal Nike size and it is right for length. I also had to pull in the laces so much the effective tongues are almost touching.
U just have to size up
Thanks for the review I want to get pair of alphafly
Great review guys! A question that goes along with one of your last videos: should I get the Tempo Next% only if I get the Alphafly (you know, as a training partner) or would it be also a good choice if I already run in next%? Would a training combination of the Tempo and the next% make any sense? Thanks!
It would be fine either way. The forefoot sensation is similar to the Alphafly, but the overall experience is a bit different.
How is durability? How many miles should I expect out of a pair? Cheers
I just responded to that question above. It will vary.
Interesting that two of the top Americans in the 2022 Boston marathon were unsponsored but chose to run in the Alphafly.

somehow vaporfly next % 2 did not fit my feet like orginal vaporflyes???? but alphaflyes felt so good expensive but damm they are nice
I got super excited by this review and bought a pair. How many miles have you guys run in them and have you started to see any compression?
Meg has 45 miles on hers and they still feel fresh. I have only put about 30 on mine and they feel new.
Daily trainers?
Is it true that once you get past the bigger sizes (larger than US9) , it goes way beyond the 40mm stack?
thanks for the review! How are these on a downhill race?
Didn't know Johnny knoxville did trainers
These shoes are amazing, but
im not a fan of the new version.
its not new to the alpha fly. old nikes with air zoom have that tensils edit: im referring to pegasus.
Ure right. Im pretty sure ALL zoom air bags always had tinsel when they made it the original name was gonna be called tinsel air
I'm pretty sure the 🏀 shoes had them first.
Great stuff! You guys are awesome! I had one question however. I wanted to see what's the durability prediction for the Alpha Fly .
Even with the vaporfly wear varies by runner. I have Vaporflys with 250 miles that I’ll still run in. The AlphaFLY seem even more durable. If you’re an elite you want to have the fresh fresh for race day. The rest of us can rack up miles in these shoes.
Plenty available on the Nike web site now. Painful to spend that much money but I did it. I would question if they are better than the last one. There were 2:01 marathons with the original. True, there was a 1:59:40 exhibition in the Alphafly but it was run in impractical conditions. No turns, cherry picked weather, electronic pacing, strategically designed wind blockers, a guy with a bike handing him water whenever he wanted. If you add up all those advantages, you may not get the 2:01 performance on a regular course. Those are a lot of seconds being shaved off. But now Nike gets to charge more money for already ridiculously priced shoes.
Great review. True to size?
Yessir
How I wish I can just ask for a pair in my size since it isn’t available here in the Philippines yet.
I'm thinking the Nike engineers loved the apple bag 🍎 🛍️ comparison
i got runners toe from my first run, does it mean it's too small on me? does anyone know how to treat it? never happened to me before :(
probably too small
You can cut open the entire toe section
How durable do you think the pods in the front will end up being? I'm worried a wrong step onto a sidewalk or something will get it caught 😅
Those pods will outlive the shoes.
@@Believeintherun same thing with their attachment to the surrounding zoomx?
@@enkidu2562 haven't heard of any issues
@@Believeintherun thanks, appreciate the response
Great to know these are not just for the 5 minute milers-but are they any good for the middle aged 9 minute milers? 😂😂😂
If they make the 9 minutes feel good, then go for it.
@@Believeintherun thanks! 👍🏿
I hated the Alphafly. Sent them back. The Vaporfly next % is king.
When I see someone walking in these I can’t help but laugh loudly out loud. So tough to hold it back.
Aí sim! 👊🏻😃🔝🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻
Airbags with yarns inside have been used since Peg 35. Nothing new. Just sayin
Damn expensive, especially for the lack of km's you can run on them. #shame
You can actually put a decent amount of miles in these. I’ve seen people take them up to 400 miles, which is more durable than some trainers
@@christiangroendyk7198 I agree.
@@christiangroendyk7198 Thanx for the clarification. A lot of ShoeTubers where talking about 250/300 miles.
Most of the time I get 800-1000km out of shoes, so thats why I stated it.
Can’t get the wife happy and the bottle full at the same time. If you’re cheap, buy the Pegasus then.
@@V1RT8 Too small. Am running on Speed :)
I don't buy these ugly shoes but a very entertaining video. Cheaper than human growth hormone... just hilarious
Meant to go fast, not look pretty
Bad Ass running shoe....
