    Does the rig only screw thru the 2" thick stringer? Seems kind of a weak point? Please explain. (thanks for the video)

      Please hit us up here so we can answer all your stringer questions! The stringers are mounted to 4 or 5 wooden studs and you mount to the stringer from there. Very sturdy! prxperformance.com/pages/contact-us

    Stringer board would also be useful for those that still want to use a 90” rack but have low ceilings and a reduced rack depth on account of the modified install. Stringer gets you a little more depth from the wall.

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  Рік тому

      Yes, that is very true if one wants to gain a little more depth!!

      @@prxperformance I feel like there is some math involved but if I used a 2x6 or 2x8 stringer board in my room which is 96 inches (8 ft) what ceiling solution option would I be able to go with because I have the stringer board? Would it be the 98 inch or higher?

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  Рік тому

      @@andersb7 you’d want to follow the modified install measurements for a space with 96” (8 ft) since you said you’re at 8ft.

      @prxperformance  Рік тому

      @@andersb7 as far as the stringer boards, those will essentially string the studs together and you can use either a 2x6 or 2x8, that’s up to you

    my ceiling is 96" so the distance from wall to the end of the rack when deployed will be 17". would it be okay to use a 4x6 stringer to gain back 3.5" from the wall to the end of the rack when deployed?

    Hi, I just moved from Fl to Al and now installing my PRX rack into my new home, and funny I wanted to utilize some wooden boards, which I now know they are called stringer boards, thank you! LOL! But, which type of screws and where you put them on the stringer boards as not to interfere with the bracket screws? Thank you Candy from Huntsville, Al

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  Рік тому +1

      You can put them on the outsides of the stringer board and you'll want to go through the stringer board, and into the stud. Once that's done, you'll attach the wall brackets to the stringer boards. 👍

    How long should the screws be that attach the rack to the stringer board?

    What about fitting this to a brick wall? Just drill, put wall anchors in and mount?

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  11 місяців тому

      Yes, that's one way of doing it! You can mount to brick/concrete without the stringer boards in some instances if you'd like. Stringer boards might be the easiest though 👍

    prepping to install mine as we speak and I really like this. I also noticed that your weight storage isn't touching the ground on the bottom, it says in the instructions to set the bottom piece such that it is resting on the floor and I'm hoping that isn't fully necessary as I have a lip in the wall lower down and was hoping to mount the full thing above that lip.

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  11 місяців тому +1

      Glad this video is helpful! We do recommend having the bottom of the peg storage touching the floor. Although, we know many customers don't do it that way, so if you choose to have the peg storage up a little bit, you'll be fine!

    So the brackets with the hydraulic arms do not need to be fully extended? Asking because I bought before measuring my ceiling height assuming it was what was recommended and don’t want to have to return

    • @prxperformance
      @prxperformance  Рік тому +1

      There are many ways you can install your rack...the hydraulics are only there for assistance lifting up and down. You'll want to get your exact ceiling height and use the directions to make sure you install at the right measurements!

      A 2x6 wooden plank is best and length really depends on how wide your studs are.
