Always good to see a Resident Evil figure. Amazing amount of accessories with Claire. If I had the room I'd probably go more into this line.
    Thanks for showing bud.

Hell yeah! Can’t wait for the Damtoys Ada Wong figure to get released. As for accessories I think there is a balance. Too much is almost as bad as too little in some cases. There is a limit to what you can put onto the figure, but its great to have the display option. On the other hand however… Every single piece of accessory you put back into the box is money you spent to store something LOL. I think it would be better if the companies made the figures and just enough accessories to be able to put it somewhere on the figure, and rather release a accessory pack that you could buy on the side if you want/need it. That would make the basic figure itself cheaper for those who only need the figure. Most of the extra stuff that came with this figure will go in the box again for now, but maybe at some point I can use them for a diorama display.

I really love the Resident Evil figures. You're right about the room though. There are so many figures we want but can't afford or don't have room for them. I've never played the Resident Evil game ironically; I just saw a couple of figures and got them. I like the figures. I need to try the game some time down the road though.

For me the clothes can be perfect, but if the head is bad, then it's all bad. LOL The opposite can be true too . . . the head can be great but the clothes are so bad you fall out of love with the thing. Have a great day!!!

    Good looking figure my friend.
You could Kitbash other figures with those extra accessories.
Let your imagination fly and customize a figure of your own.

If I ever get the space for a diorama, then I will most likely use the extra parts for that.

Those dog gone buttons right? They dropped off of my figure once I got it out of the package. I've never had a figure where so much went wrong after taking it out of the packaging. The buttons were a problem. The holster thing that supposedly keeps the gun in place broke on mine. I found a way to fix it, but geesh . . . right out of the package and then boom . . . things go wrong. The knife doesn't really fit into the sheath, and you're right, you're not going to ever remove the knife once it is in. It was confusing with the belts too!!! I think she displays well, but I bet every person who got this figure lost buttons. Still, this is a great review!!! 🙂

Thanks! Yes. One had fallen off before I even opened the box, and another fell off when I barely thouched it. I don’t get why they even used such long and fragile buttons. They’re even way too long for being 1/6th scale, and they don’t even work as the real buttons do either. It was simply a very poor choise of buttons in my opinion. The hard plastic gun holster makes no sense to me either. There is none of the guns that really fits properly in it. The one with the attachement is too big, while the other is way too small. I think it is ment for a bigger gun that didn’t come with the figure. The shoulder holster is clearly not ment to hold a gun either. Just the extra clips. I tried to figure out how a gun could be stored in it, but in my mind it didn’t make any sense. That knife is really in there, I’ll tell you that much LOL. I knew I was never going to get it back out, so I just jammed it in there as far as I possibly could, without calling Superman for help. I don’t think that he would ever get that knife out of there either to be honest LOL. Its a great looking figure once you’ve set it up as you want it, but I actually regret not getting the other version of her instead. Oh, well. Done is done and this is the figure I got. I did get a second Claire head sculpt though, so I might try to kitbash the other version at some point. This the first time that I’ve been disappointed in a Dam Toys figure. Hopefully the Ada Wong figure will be better.

You know I don't even know why they bother with buttons if they are going to fall off. I just truly don't get it. Every time I open a figure, I wonder if something is going to fall off or break. That's so wrong. I don't know "how" many times I've dropped something on the floor and spent time looking for it. Most of the time I find it eventually. Sometimes I just don't know what happened to it. Those are the worst moments possible. That's why I keep most things in the box and only display what I have to to make the figure work. Also, you are right about that dog gone holster. There were so many things wrong about that figure. When you focus on specific parts, you kind of go, "What?" LOLOL I bet the knife is really in there. It is for mine too. I almost pushed it through the end of the sheath because, in my mind, a knife is supposed to fit "in" the sheath . . . not stick out of the sheath. God. LOL

@@UndergroundActionFigures Sometimes these companies overthink the productionof a figure, while other times they don’t pay enough attention at all. Certain things simply just don’t work in 1/6th scale, in my opinion. The design of a button is one of those. It doesn’t need to be an exact copy of the «real» thing. It just have to appear to be. Why Dam Toys chose to make those buttons like that is beyond me. A simple button would be good enough. Instead they messed up the sheath for the knife by not making the knife fit lose enough so it was possible to remove. They could just as well have molded the knife and sheath in one piece. I suspect that sometimes they give too much focus on the wrong things in production. But the figure is what it is though. I’d rather have it as is, than not having it at all.

I had to watch this again to see if you had some of the same problems I did. You did. The buttons . . . they fall off and that knife doesn't fit into the sheath . . . How they could do that I don't know. I loved that they had some cool accessories, but when things don't fit . . . that's pretty crazy. You can live with the gun, but the knife is so visible and so not in the sheath nicely. The holster rig was indeed hard to get on and lay nicely. They shouldn't have bothered with buttons if they were going to fall off the darn thing. I guess that's why they call it DAM toys. LOLOL

    • @Eseres80

In the end I got the figure set up acceptable well enough. The knife isn’t going anywhere now as its in there LOL. I got the shoulder rig to look good enough too. The material is a bit stiff, so I worked with it to soften it up. The biggest flaw with this figure is those freakin’ buttons. Thats something not easily fixed. I wish I had gotten the other version instead. Yeah, they should add that «N» in Damtoys LOL. With that said. I don’t have any issues with any of my other Damtoys figures. Its just that these freakin’ buttons on this particular figure was the dumbest idea of the century LOL.

I almost want to file the knife down to fit it, but then you ruin a piece. On the other hand, it is kind of ruined as is . . . it clearly doesn't fit. Perhaps keeping it this way is just a way to say toy makers rarely get everything right. We know that because sometimes we pull and tug on things and then give up because was are so afraid of breaking something. I've done that one too many times. Sigh. @@Eseres80

The buttons from the figure fell off the first time I unpacked them, so I also removed the other ones on the vest (there are 8 of them) because they are completely stupidly stuck on. Why do they make a button with a neck and the neck sticks to the fabric. If it was a smooth metal button head (without a neck), they would certainly hold better there with glue. Poor quality. Hot Toys is simply in a higher quality class. Damtoys pretend to be something they are not.

    • @Eseres80
      @Eseres80  9 місяців тому

Yeah, Damtoys didn’t think it through with these buttons. First off, I think they’re way too long. On top of that, I think that these buttons actually are ment to be inserted through a hole so that the end of the button is glued to the inside of the outfit, and not glued directly onto the front of it. It would have been more than enough to see the button head on the outside of the outfit. These buttons were simply just poorly used and/or a bad choise in itself. The quality otherwise is actually pretty good, in my opinion. Damtoys is definitely hands down a strong competitor to Hot Toys. I’ve seen Hot Toys drop the ball on several figures in the past myself, with poor choises and poor quality, so this is not something that defines Damtoys in any way what so ever. And as far as Hot Toys conserns. After all these years with being at the top as a 1/6th scale company, they’ve still not evolved as far as making figures goes. Most companies are actually catching up on Hot Toys as far as tailoring goes, and in some cases as far as the head sculpts goes too, and these are companies that haven’t been around for as long as Hot Toys as well. In my opinion Hot Toys have only one thing going in their favor at the moment, and that is the realistic paint on the head sculpts, which to me isn’t really all that much of a big deal anymore. Even with all the fantastic artists working at Hot Toys and the amount of time they’re been making 1/6th scale figures, they still manage do release head sculpts that aren’t quite the likness of the actor/source material. So yeah… Damtoys is most definitely a worthy challenger to Hot Toys indeed.

@@Eseres80 I just unboxed the second Clarie Redfield RE2 the jeans and leather jacket version. The leather jacket is damaged in the front part next to the zipper. There is a one cm long scraping of the skin color. They probably have a quality problem at Damtoys. Two figures and both are damaged. Hot Toys use a material that seems to me to resist wear and tear and the figure can be posed repeatedly. I can't imagine unbuttoning Claire Redfield's jacket again. Many things from Damtoys are very fragile compared to Hot Toys.

@@jiriwilly2659 I have a lot of Damtoys figure and the only one that I have any issue with is the buttons on the classic Claire Redfield, and this is a issue that conserns those buttons for the most part. However, I’ve had quite a few issues with Hot Toys figures in the past, which is one of the reasons why I stopped collecting their figures too. High prices and poor QC for being that company I’d say. Figures that can’t be posed due to the outfit, or instructions that says that you can barely move a joint, paint rubs, etc… just to mention a couple. In my experience I’ve had alot more issues with Hot Toys figures than what I’ve had with the Damtoys LOL.

DAMTOYS do have issues, but some hold up better than others. The Claire figure is great looking, but she is the worst of the worst in terms of things falling off. Why they even put buttons on her is senseless unless they are going to do it right. In my opinion, just use velcro . . . don't try buttons unless they're going to stay on. :-)
