Or that there was a satanic cult operating in an abandoned hospital in the 90s? Maybe the story about Vladimir Lenin being a German agent would interest you. Hey there. Somehow you found my video and decided to watch it. So let me introduce myself. I'm Sergei and I'm from Russia. My channel is about my native country. I want to tell English-speaking viewers about the real Russia, about its past and present. Unfortunately, you can find a lot of propaganda about Russia on the Internet, both from the Russian media and from the Western ones. I want to tell you about Russia, as it really is, the country in which I was born, grew up, and lived all my life.

Here before the FSB gets to Setarko
These bastards work for lizards 100%
I heard he got arrested and transported by plane
Ho no The plane got shot down !
The smell of bacon is at the crash site
It’s official he is dead : (
He works for the government. They probably vet every single one of his videos.
My conspiracy theory about Ivan IV's library is that it was really just a bookcase in his room, and its size was greatly exaggerated for propaganda purposes to depict Ivan as a scholar
This may be unrelated to the iceberg, but the story behind Irkutsk's coat of arms is pretty amusing
Ivan was a scholar though, he was one of the most prolific writers on politics and religion in his time.
@@vardekpetrovic9716 Until 1497, a peasant could freely change the landlord. Serfdom was introduced in Russia in 1592. And it was finally introduced only in 1649. How could it be strong if it didn't exist yet?
Сringe propaganda about the progressive west and the barbaric east VS 1 min in google.
Serfdom in England lasted from the 7th-8th century to the 14th. At the same time, slavery existed until the 19th century.
Until the 14th and 15th centuries, there was no institution of serfdom in Russia, as there was no institution of slavery, for example, although slavery was present in the Novgorod Republic. Feudalism appeared in Russia quite late. Serfdom as an institution appeared only in the 15th century and lasted until the 19th century. Together with the USSR, this is a maximum of 5 centuries. Against 7-6 in England. Not considering the institution of slavery.
And yes, Ivan the Terrible is considered a tyrant in Russia. By his order, according to various estimates, from 15 to 30 thousand people died. His sculpture is not even on the monument to the Millennium of Russia. Nevertheless, as many were killed on St. Bartholomew's Night as during his entire reign. And by decree of Elizabeth I, 89,000 people were executed in England.
@@vardekpetrovic9716 I wrote that there was slavery. But there was no institution of slavery, like in the USA, Great Britain or the Roman Empire. And what millions are we talking about? At that time, the population of Rus' numbered barely >10 million. The average population of the city was ~500 people, and the village ~50.
@@vardekpetrovic9716 I took numbers from wiki. And the difference with the aztecs is that for them it was the norm, it was part of their culture. This was also the norm for the japanese of that time. However, they still deny the Nanjing massacre.
While Ivan the Terrible, as I have already said, is considered a terrible tyrant and he is not on the monument to the Millennium of Russia, the only one of all the tsars.
Wiki:
"Among the statesmen, there is no image of Ivan the Terrible (as a symbol of despotism), although three of his confidants are present: first wife Anastasia Romanovna, A. F. Adashev, Protopop Sylvester."
the black volga story was also very common across poland
addendum: allthough the people driving in the polish stories were usually jewish people, vampires, satanists or german bourgeois
Probably the black Volga was just used by the „men in black“ in ussr
So hyped for the rest of this series
Me too! It feels a bit like waiting for the next part of your favourite TV series, back in the times of linear TV and paper TV timetables. ;)
About Metro-2: im Dmitry Yurkov's book "Soviet Secret Bunkers" there are indirect evidence from declassified documents from the 1960s that construction of tunnels not related to the main metro system was carried out near the General Staff building on Frunzenskaya Embankment; soil subsidence occurred during construction. Also we know about the tunnel in front of the Sportianaya metro station, which goes under the Moscow River and through the Vorobyvy Hills to mysterious "object 54" (probably famous underground city in Ramenki)
Love your content, though i was wondering if you would consider putting the bits of info/trivia you include somewhere else on the screen? When they are at the bottom of the screen they often get obscured by the subtitles if they are turned on which make them very hard to read, if they were placed near the top i think it could help a lot.
Never thought about that tbh. I was kinda used to the fact that since these are called "lower thirds" they should obviously go to the lower third. But I tried that with subtitles on and realized that they do obscure the text. And since 30% of my viewers watch my videos with subtitles on...yeah, I think I will experiment a bit with the placement in my next videos.
when is the next part coming? and how many more parts are you planning to release? this is underrated asf needs more views.
idk, my next video is probably going to something soviet, but after that I will probably start level 2
The black Volga also has this sad backsory in Hungary. In the 50s the communist secret police used black Volgas to abduct people. They abducted my great-grandpa this way, and then they tortured him. In hungarian culture, the black Volga is not just a creepy story, but a symbol of oppression.
😂😂😂 Get rekt hungos.
Poland as well
About Khodynka: Witte could have organised the crowd crush during the coronation, as he belonged to the clique of the widowed empress Maria Feodorovna (Dagmar) who apparently hated Nicholas and wished to see him replaced by Michael
I haven't heard this explanation tbh, sounds interesting
Witte based as usual
Thank you Setarko! I am very much enjoying this series, and can't wait to see the next ones!
Great stuff Setarko, looking forward to rest of the series!
Your channel is one of the best for soviet and russian stories on the platform
Astonishing video quality for such a small channel, I cheer for your imminent success Setarko.
New to your channel, but from what Ive seen, I think ill stay for a while. Good stuff! ^^
Good series dude, molodets
Thanks for the video
I love this!❤
Yay, it's up!
I love your Chanel really interesting
YOOOO new setkaro dropped!
Thank you for the continued look across the former iron curtin.
As for metro 2? I would be surprised if it didn't exist.
Uvb-76 is actually a TNO sondtrack.
Thanks for doing this. Has anyone else noticed an increase in popularity of spooky conspiracy stories? What do you suppose is the REAL reason they are becoming more popular 🤔🤔🤔...?
Let's go
Youre awesome
Always loved the Russian mysteries. Will check out the rest, curious, how much WWII stuff will there be?
Well, to be honest there are separate WWII icebergs that are full of WWII stuff, but this one also has some. I definitely remember Myasnoi Bor being there (Meat Forest, a place in Novgorod where hundreds of thousands of soldiers died during WW2), story about Vlasov army, story about Leningrad blockade and probably some more.
@@Setarko Excellent answer for me. Many times it's only WWII with everything else small filler.
I'll give you a sub and eagerly await what you upload next, thank you.
Regarding false Anastasia, it is important to remember the power of false memories. She could have genuinely believed she was what people were telling her she was.
You should do a full video on the Russia didn't exist until 1703 conspiracy
What about Alyoshenka and Citizens of USSR? Maybe one of the future episodes?
Both of them are in level 2!
The Buzzer is referenced in the visual novel Robotics;Notes (part of the same series as the more famous Steins;Gate). The recording itself is played.
its amazing how versatile the Black volga is as a myth across Eastern Europe
You are the opposite from me
I love winter and hate summer 😂
Loving this series. Also, I somewhat believe the overstated population one. China in particular admitted to it.
The black Volga story here, in Hungary was pretty popular as well, though I don't know to what extent because here the Soviet presence was really high but I didn't lived during that an my only relative who still lives today never talked avout it. But I know for sure that its name was changed to ÁVO in this country. Which standa for 'Államvédelmi osztály', roughly translated to English: State Defence Class (SDC), the successor of the 1945 founded 'Államvédelmi Hatóság' or State Defence Authority (SDA)
Hi, do you plan to put Maxim Martsinkevich aka. Tesak into the iceberg?
Yeah, his death is there.
About princess Anastasia, you forgot to name the nice 1956 movie "Anastasia", with Yul Brynner & Ingrid Bergman...
Ah, a man of culture! Yeah, forgot about that one. But 1997 one is still probably more popular
@@Setarko Thanks, but is more Age than Culture!😸😉Anyway Yul Brynner remains unique...
another conspiracy - the Tisul Princess , i hope you'll make a vid of it
Yes, I've added her myself because she was not in one of the icebergs. But she's on level 5 so we'll have to wait a bit :)
well , you made my day , thanks@@Setarko
Can you please make a VDNH park video?
I am not sure. I always thought that such videos are better in a form of a travel vlog or something. Maybe I can talk about its history but idk if it is THAT interesting.
Hello my friend. Would you mind to make a video dedicated to the Novostroikas?
I am not sure to be honest, they are too diverse. These are buildings that are hard to describe as universally as other types of soviet housing.
@@Setarko alright, thank you for responding
too diverse. there are 20-storey 200-meter-long human-anthill (человейники) for tens of thousands people, where in the courtyards sunlight is never seen. but most of them are nice. but too expensive, you know...
why there is such a thing as a housing crisis, i don't understand? they're building this all over the place, it's like mushrooms after rain. at the same time old building are not being abandoned... how can it be: the population is declining, the number of houses is growing, but a man cannot get himself an apartment?
@@mapoch9000 in Russia there is a partial reason for building these, and that’s maybe the fact that the urban population is growing there, unlike in other places like Romania, where even the Urban population (Except for Bucharest) is decreasing, but these kind of buildings are still build (not that massive, but still). And personaly, I like these buildings (when they are build corectly) because I’m a fan of the ideea of population density.
@@ytdanytevero urban population is growing in half of cities at most. i'm not against big buildings either, but you should remain sane - living at first floors in this huge clusters is like living in some cyberpunk underground.
plus, old soviet infrastructure is not capable of dealing with such amount of private cars and etc...
Possibly add something about the moscow archive?
I don't know why people frame the Russian language as aggressive, maybe it's my African ears that hear the beauty and strength in the language.
Its just popular media, and massive popularity of gopniks and soviet bossmen
Its frankly weird behaviour simping for a whole huge country
@@Ukraineaissance2014 how can you confuse appreciation with simping
@@madfreacmocrazi6093 appreciation is somebody simply enjoying a thing for it's own worth/beauty. Simping is when you overtly pay compliments in the hope's of receiving a reward back, I.e - a beautiful woman's attention, or central and western africans waving russian flags and talking about their 'beautiful language' in the hope of getting some of the money that the Kremlin is throwing in that direction and backing it up with the 'gentle persuasion' of Russian Private military contractors on the Wagner model.
Some have simped their way all the way to dying violently in a hole in frozen ukraine. Whole units of untrained african mercenary fighters under russian control have been captured.
@@Ukraineaissance2014 OK I hear what you are saying, however when i mentioned my 'African ears,' I was simply drawing comparisons between my African language with the Russian language. You are the one who took things into politics not me, which I personally never meant to go there
Pushkin stole the plays and books from a French man! And he said he made it!
