A wonderful arrangement. I love how Zappa produced music which in the surface could be played by a symphony orchestra in all serious, but underneath had this subversive edge. I haven't heard this piece for a long time. Now I will have to buy the album!
It’s one thing to enjoy this as a live radio broadcast and another thing to see the musicians at work, especially Chris’ full body motion commitment to the performance. Masterful!
Frank woulda been proud, and I don't say that lightly. Now, visualize Gabe Kahane or another of Thile's piano collaborators showing up at a Punch show and this becoming a regular Punch thing....
There is a wealth of Zappa tunes to be shared.
popped up again, still awesome
First Zappa cover that I have heard which contains the true essence of the real thing. Thank you.
Frank Zappa, Chris Thile of the 70’s and 80’s
Excellent rendition! You captured all the eyebrows that Zappa has included in this piece and added quite a few of your own. Thanks!
Thile plays Zappa 😊
That totally should be an album.
Chris has the musical talent along with the wackiness that could pull that off!
Time for Chris to cover "Inca Roads!"
I second this motion! That would be an awesome thing to cover!
or....
Inca Roads or Andy
Please just do is all a favor and do the live suite of Florentine Pogen > Andy > Inca Roads. Utter brilliance
WOW!!! not sure how Ive missed this before today. so well done. Thanks
I've been waiting for Chris to dig into Zappa....I hope he keeps going and gets deeper and deeper.
Give a brilliant song a brilliant cover treatment and the result is...fackin' brilliant!!! First class job by all!
Great ! Thank-you !
Still love this. So wonderful
This is an amazing cover. Some other tunes that i would love to hear covered would be:
San Ber'dino
Peaches en Regalia
Hungry Freaks Daddy
can you guys make an entire Frank Zappa album? This is some of the greatest shit I have ever heard.
Great arrangement. 👏
Finally, great musicians with a sense of real adventure, delving into Zappa, nice!
Great version. Love it!
Beautiful !

Zappa's orchestral music is epic !
So well done. Thanks for playing Zappa.
Been waiting so long for this to happen. So puuumped. Hope this is the first of many. Nobody could do it more justice.
Thank you for doing Zappa!!!!! I hope you do more of his work. That’s hope so..
Two favourites at once! Outrageous!
My favorite live musician playing a great composition by my favorite dead musician!
SUPERB
Now This is quality.
Very excellent rendition sirs, well done!!

I bet Frank would smile at the begining of the arrangement then light up another Marlboro and listen to the rest.
Excellent!! Please try Little Umbrellas or Holiday in Berlin.
Incredible. I play it daily. What a performance.
Always amazing, this show, and Mr thile is
What a pleasant surprise. Haven't had this much since Bootsy Collins' Birthday.
Wonderful dynamics
Chops galore.
This one has the chops and "the eyebrows" as Frank would have said.

As Janet the planet said FZ would have loved it...
