- Alie takes a water taxi from Tofino to meet Ben in Hesquiaht, where they enjoy the spectacular anchorage, beaches, lakes and old growth forest. After soaking up the sun we get a lovely sail back to Tofino - life is good in this video!!

I come back to this video every so often just for the speed at which it transitioned from cute and innocent to "oh sh**", then to one of the best laughs ever caught on video. Looks like you guys are still doing great. Cheers to that!
I still use the small boat anchoring system I learned cruising from Anacortes up to desolation back in 1979 on a small 19 ft open sailboat with a boom tent. Having an anchor offshore connected to a buoy with a block an anchor on shore (above high tide) and a long loop of line. I connect a painter to the knot connecting the loop. Simply pull the boat to the off shore buoy while on shore. Tides in the Pacific northwest are big upward to 14' & small compared the what's up from North Vancouver Island to Alaska. Still big enough to be aware of especially when cruising from the gulfs up to desolation and back but wow what fun it is when you get it right. Love that you're living the dream! Alie, you get into the most crazy troubles. I had the biggest laugh over your bottom's up maneuver! Please get Your Sandy Dog into a vet, please! I work as a volunteer with a dog rescue group and I have 2 dogs in my home that have preventable eye problems. No one thought what happened to Snowflake or Georgio would someday develop into long term sight problems. I have my own sight problem now also, Alie and her bottoms! Love you guys, love your adventures and wish I actually had moved up to Seattle and environs back in the very early '80s. Take care!
We did get his eyes checked out by our vet and luckily he’s all good!

I lived aboard a 40 foot sailboat in Washington state, and took one trip up to B.C. , and into Jervis Inlet. My wife, 6 year old daughter and I also took a year to sail to Mexico - as far south as Banderas Bay (Puerto Vallarta), then up into the Sea of Cortez. We often had a fishing line out, and caught the occasional mackerel and mahi mahi. I had a speargun, and could often find fish hanging out under the boat. There are also lots of clams and oysters in B.C., and wild berries, if you're willing to hunt for them.

We left Comox BC in September 2017 in our 34ft sailboat and are now in El Salvador. Spent two years in Mexico (Sea of Cortes and the Gold Coast) and now edging towards Costa Rica. Still miss the BC Coast hugely, however (hence me watching your great videos;))
