Why don’t you transfer the fertile egg rather than transferring a chick..
There is a chance that both parents get stressed.. One pot missing chick and the other pot with a chick all of sudden without going into natural process of feeling the egg crack and hatching..
Both the pair might abandon the clutch if they feel a stranger’s entry into their nest which is a natures instinct for all life on earth…
Instead a fertile egg would have been transferred and the egg seems it might hatch in a day or two…
So that both parents will be happy and u may also avoid risking the day 1 chick
I feel it’s always better to transfer a fertile egg rather than a chick
Also I would like to know what happened to the chick that was risked ..

Yes, its true. the best option is to swap the Eggs than the chicks.. that time unexpected they stopped incubating so tried giving a chick but no luck..
