Archmage and HOWA are the few, if not the only sources of scalable flat added damage in the game, which even in stat stackers is one of the higher weighted stats for dps. Hopefully GGG will not just blindly nerf them but give us other alternative ways to scale damage.
Yea really hate how Dot builds are currently. I want to attack fast apply tons of stacks of bleed, ignite, poison and watch the mobs melt. It's an exciting build type but somehow now Hammer of gods is better for dots which is horrible. I been logging into Last Epoch to play my Pally igniter and love seeing 800 stacks of ignite on a target and ramping up attack speed means more stacks of Dots. It's rewarding and fun to build into because IAS matters, Dot duration matters, Magnitude is exponential. There just really isn't many build options in Early access sadly and sure more weapons are coming but this is really more of a design problem.
This is why i ditched the game until the new league and some changes are made after dumping 400 divines into Spark and around 80 on Gemling. Every efficient build plays around the heralds, howa, archmage lmao. Boring as fuck
Yep. I get its EA, but damn its really boring and for me the most important issue here is that, if I wanted to play archmage fireball for example, it would literally do nothing better than spark other than its red and pretty. When you have few scaling methods, it feels a bit bad playing a "worse skill" for that scaling method just because you want to do something different. For some people this will be a bigger deal than others, but it still sucks.
It’s boring because it sounds like you’ve dumped hundreds of hours into the game already and it’s a known unfinished EA. I agree, the spark build is boring, I have so much more fun with warrior. But the complaints and reviews of this game at this point are getting kind of hilarious. Funny because everyone wants the loot to drop without having a rarity stat, they want deterministic crafting, and all this stuff which basically makes you just get to that “boring” part faster. Imagine being the people who actually made this game and trying to cater to the complaints of these gamers who do nothing else and always find something new to complain about. “Not enough loot” here’s a rarity stat. “Rarity stat needs to be removed” even though you always have to choose between a set of specific mods for your gear and so it’s no different than feeling you need phys damage, resistances, or even intelligence if you spec into strength. So you’re mad you can’t just have all the stats you want and get rare drops.. play every class deep into endgame and now the game is boring and it needs more but you were told like 6 months til release. Find the broken builds.. now it’s boring because every other build isn’t also broken. They fix a stat. Now it sucks because your broken builds that were boring to you aren’t as strong. Maybe if you chose spark they don’t want you to also be playing poison as effectively? Choices are the core of rpg leveling. Do gamers even know why they play games anymore or do they feel entitled to tell people who actually make the games how bad they are at making them and just a complaining culture. Ditching the game was a good choice if you don’t like it. I think people need to start understanding that maybe they just don’t like it in the current state and stop playing, vs sinking more hours then complaining. You guys sound pretty much done with the content, these problems don’t exist to average people who log in and play after work.
@@nickcanclimb These are very legitimate concerns with fundamental design decisions. People are not complaining just to complain. They are complaining because they already solved a specific problem in poe1 just to reintroduce the problem again in poe2. Rarity is just psuedo quantity with how it works now (which was removed in poe1). There was no reason for it to be reintroduced into the game and only speeds up inflation in trade leagues. Its an objective fact that if you cannot fit rarity in your build, your build just wont be as good as others. Some builds have such little affix pressure that they can fit it in on every slot while still killing bosses in under 10 seconds. this is a major issue. I feel like you are just parroting arguments you read on reddit instead of coming up with your own informed opinion on the matter or totally new to the game as a whole and never touched poe1. Archmage, Howa, POTCG are not healthy for the game long term. They become the only way to play spells and attacks.
I hate how much of top DPS depends on one singular unique (HOWA). They really need to diversify the options to scale. Quarterstaff only is the top weapon because it can also scale with PotcG on top.
YEP and it feels awful. Want to play a non standard poison build? HoWA + Original Sin & you might as well slap on Pillar and play staffs since mace skills feel awful and slow. Ele build? Slap on HoWA and convert it if needed. Spells? Archmage or its worse version Demon Form. I really hope this gets changed next season and we at least some heavy spell balancing at a minimum.
So the key design question becomes, should all builds be less spam and more slow and controlled with things like HOWA being nerfed, or should other builds get equally spam friendly support?
@@aidantreap It's not so much adding spam support to everything, it's more adding different vectors of late-game scaling. Like removing the poison cap. At least adding enough different ways to scale to end the howa meta. Maybe add gloves where the poison limit scales with dex, or the projectile number with strength or something similar. It doesn't have to be skill speed.
I’m actually building a pathfinder right now, and the sentiment is shared. Scaling just doesn’t feel the same as gemling or stormweaver, and I’d love to see more scaling options in the future. If poison could stack up properly, it’d have a shot, but needing an ascendancy, 2 passives, a support gem and a pair of gloves to get 10 poisons on an enemy just to feel like you’re doing “alright” is hilariously bad to me. Not to mention these are 3-4 second poisons so you CONSTANTLY have to re-up them on bosses, so mana becomes an issue super quick.
Yeah this is also something I didnt mention, mana costs become crazy to deal with even on attack builds if you attempt to scale attack speed on a big beefy hit. Tempest flurry would be a pretty damn good attack speed scaling poison skill if the cap was a lot higher than it currently is. It feels bad being basically forced into going crit as not everything does well that way.
I've been trying to level poison concoction and my flake are constantly running enough on bosses and occasionally running through zones. It's worse than mana problems I had on gas arrow
Realized I've gotten bored just from tower mechanic. In POE 1 all my maps were juiced, which felt right. That's the point of having a complete atlas tree and throwing scarabs you like into it. Now I have to do too many unjuiced maps with a completed atlas to reach towers, which is just boring. Then if the juiced maps drop nothing, it feels like a lot of wasted time for setting up.
never played poe1, but after doing the map mechanics in poe2 for a week, I was done with maps. It takes too much time to path to good spot, then juice the maps, then risk losing it all by dying (but of course don't have the same problem now for dying, because I'm geared now). And you need SPECIFIC tablet/waystones for juicing (quantity is the best stat says fubgun), and tablets/waystones doesn't come abundant until you start farming maps for a long while. And in all that time doing maps, I found ZERO citadels.
This is why ive avoided maps like the plague and done nothing but sekhema, I dont want to touch towers and they feel like a chore while buying 100 scarabs, rolling my maps, deli orbing them, and organizing everything in a quad tab was fun knowing it takes an hour to do then I can do 20-30 hours of maps.
I've been shouting this on my soapbox since ea released and now that people are making off meta builds are running into the same issue is very validating
Scaling is sooo limited in this game. Everytime I wanna try out something cool and creative, only to realize that there is no way I can scale my damage like I want to. Most of the very broken builds just use "infinite loops" to create massive damage. Tired of seeing the same stupid "cast on" exploits.
Yea and not only that, all the “cast on” are absolutely terrible unless it’s being used in an exploit.. I’m an infernalist witch and everything is constantly ignited around me so you would think “cast on ignite” would be great right? Nope, not even close at all.. it’s outright terrible.. like what were they going for with that? It makes no sense to me at all just like how armor is complete trash, minions can’t walk through doorways and you can be off screen one shot by a random charge up mobs..
Same issue with Fire and Ignite scaling. And fire builds don't even have an option to stack a second Ignite in any ascendancy. The only option is Speccing into Hellfire as an infernalist and that's still not great. Edit: I see she touches on this a little past where I made this comment. It just really sucks as someone who loves Fire builds thematically to have so little in the way of options to do one... and the options that do exist aren't great.
Yeah it sucks, for me I love ignite builds and poison builds. Poisons feel like "better ignites" right now with how they have (at least somewhat) better ailment prolif and just scale the same way while allowed to stack multiple of. Ignites just do the same if not less damage than a poison while having a 2???????????????????? second timer before it spreads. I have no idea how they allowed Ignites to just be in such a sorry state.
yep. unfortunately I dont think there's a current build out at the moment that can compare to the HOWA Pillar Gemling. Ive also been searching for ages and nothing seems as good with speed and damage. Hopefully with the full release coming out in a few months the game really opens up to a huge degree.
My warrior (which I gave up when it hit lvl 89), couldn’t even cast infernal cry and Hammer of the God at the same time because of the insane mana cost without using mana flask.. it felt so bad
Yeah, I've kept my infernal cry at level 9 to help this problem. It's a silly solution, a high level character should be able to use skills with reasonable timing. Not like it's spamming a skill 10x per second.
Sure its a slightly different circumstance of being at 22 APS but, its very silly that the most optimal thing I can do in my attribute stacker is run a level 5 flurry because the mana is unmanagable otherwise. Its crazy that the balance is such that high level skills are difficult to deal with in terms of mana when leveling skills is one of the only scaling methods we have.
With my warrior I make sure to have a percent of damage inflicted come back as mana and hp. Most skills are single heavy shots so using them, kill everything then replenish mana and ho fully from the attack. I never use flasks, if anything I just get one shot and from ranged projectiles. In fact, I don’t use flasks on any character and always build to eliminate that. Some would say those stats are throw away stats though, and probably complain that now they feel they have to use that stat all resistances, which is works. Get leech mana on your gloves or something, give up some other stat and your good.
I'm currently doing a Pathfinder rapid shot with three dragons head not using howa or ingenuity and my scaling has been amazing with still plenty of room to grow so there are builds out there that are not copy and paste you just got to look for them, I'm currently level 87 destroying t16 and bosses ingenuity would add a ton and I don't see anything wrong with that being a Chase item but not needed
Has a side note about crit, yes it's hard / impossible to scale crit chance to get to 100 % on attack however crit damage affix work the same that crit chance for weapon the (max) 39% to critical damage on weapon is base crit damage.
I feel that too. I have been playing with a Monk. I love it and it was the first Character I made on Dec 6th. I am not using Howa or Ingenuity though. I haven't touch pinnacle bosses but I have gotten my fragments . I also made your Poison Arrow build with a bit of a modification using Tornado Shot. It is crazy AOE galore ( But I know it is not strong enough for Pinnacle bosses.) RUETOO have done some amazing and interesting builds with Warrior and the Titan tree...but the last patch nerf it. It is disappointing . But the scary thing is, they might nerf Howas and Monks to the ground making everything subpar. This might just drive most players away, not the hardcore ones though. POE is already tough in the first place, I am actually a returning POE 1 player, I stopped after playing for 3 or 3.5 years because it got too overly complicated. I did supported and gave them around 800 USD though. This time round I am just going to stay put and see what they do before I give my ka ching. I do like a lot of changes and improvements in POE 2. But there are jsut some unnecessary nerfs that make some really weak builds already weaker. At this stage, POE2 will just be playing Gemling or Monk Stat stacking, not a great thing. It is fine if some builds are extremely difficult to build and scale from the start, but they should shine like crazy at the end. Some streamers managed to do that and the nerf hammer falls. That is disappointing.
Oh, theres a build floating around that might be cool to look at with running 3 x death on minion /comet running self ignite back onto your raging spirts then you end up getting hundreds of comets raining down all the time. Would really love to see you push that to it's limit so I can follow you on that :)
That is actually a build I was testing around in my spare time and it honestly was the only build hat showed merit. My plan is to actually go play fireball comd after my zero to hero series is over if I have enough time before 3.26 in poe1
For attack builds getting +ranks almost feels like a downgrade because of the mana cost. Without HoWA most of the attacks builds won't be viable with such mana costs.
YEP. I dont know who at GGG thought to make mana scaling so insane on skills while making mana recovery SOMEHOW worse than it was in Expedition while SOMEHOW not adding in ANY elemental mana leech at all
@@Alliee Hopefully not somebody from who is originally from Sweet Baby INC but pretended to be rehabilitated and went into GGG just to fxxk things up inside out.
@@shardulpp I went from a 200 dps bow with +5 levels to projectile skills to a 500 dps bow with +2 levels, cost me a few div for the switch. I only gained a ~5 point increase in dps, but the mana cost went down by almost 40%. My friends all said it wasn’t an upgrade, but I don’t see how getting a 40% mana cost reduction isn’t an upgrade
Disagree about how poison works being better to scale in PoE1. But agree that there isn't enough support for it. I think the stacking of DoTs by attacking faster is the whole reason Damage Over Time builds are ruined in PoE1, and why I was so glad they did aggravate bleeding over everyone going Crimson Dance to make bleed work. I love attacking fast but it shouldn't be for damage over time builds. Especially if they keep the mechanic that it is based on chaos dmg AND physical. Big thing being physical. At that point it doesn't become damager over time, just becomes a damage stacking build that works by attacking faster/more. So while I'd be glad if there was support for like you said, Arc + Poison, I don't think it should be tied to the core mechanic of any damage over time build. I think the devs agree with this at this moment, but it might change who knows. Now should there be a stat stacking build that's an ailment but not a damage over time build? Maybe. Something like Electrocute/Freeze but instead does big dmg depending how many stacks you can apply to it in a short amount of time would be really cool.
I am so disappointed at how the endgame builds are. I think the worst offender is my sorceress. I've done a lot of cast on + comet + spirit memes, they largely got nerfed into the ground with patches. So what am I left to do with sorc? Archmage + lightning, that's it. Shock increases damage dealt, thus you have a multiplication in your equasion which is why you are automatically forced to play shock applying builds. Archmage also does lightning damage, thus synergizing with this multiplication and bringing in it's own multiplication based on your max mana. Now what is the final addition to that multiplication? Spark. Since it casts so many hits, the first one applies the shock, thus the second one gets already scaled, etc. This is way better than big slow hits.So now that's all we have on the class. It's literally the first skill we get in the game and everything is completely useless. There is absolutely zero variety. Every single sorc I see now runs spark and archmage, mana stacking. As for my other classes, there isn't even anything that beats a pillar of the caged god. 90% of abilities are completely irrelevant.
True, I play this game to make builds. The 4-5 successful ones I've made crush T15s and +2 Xesht but struggle on anything more than that so I don't really want to try Arbiter and I refuse to use HoWA at the moment lol There are several skills I am pumped to make builds out of but just can't scale them even with dozens of div.
I really feel like theres almost no variation in builds. I was hoping with thw new tree settup we could start anywhere like on scion in poe 1. Would make for way more variation.
I honestly think the tree is very barebones right now which isint helping with the issue. The bottom right feels very full while the top left is sparse. Its def a "only half the game is in problem" but it still feels bad
Dots feel complete lackluster compared to boom builds. My favorite build types but the wall slaps you pretty quick. Chonk gas arrow was the best I've tried.
Essence drain as well as all the other Chaos dots just sucks. The only thing that plays nicely is Contagion with corpsewade you can wipe an entire breach with a few casts of contagion. But corpsewade comes with its own problems either you will be super slow, or you have to go Queen of the forest and stack evasion. And singel target is a huge problem aswell
Thank god the criticism is getting vocal, can’t stand the “it’s early access, it’s fine” it’s not fine. They had many years to provide a new game, they officially stated they wanted a stand-alone sequel, but they gave us poe 1.5. Before I rant and provide my 200 cents; let’s highlight the good things ! Mapping is more interesting with the map and the biomes and stuff but it is not interesting enough. It reminds me of hero’s and might and magic but doesn’t actually have any elements to it really it’s just an extra interface to map device which is very cop out. Combat is moving in a good direction in my opinion, like the combat mechanics and the give and take not just zoom-blasting. Bossing, I love the bosses the boss designer should design more aspects of the game. Now that we have the very few positives let’s talk about how they severely dropped the ball, this was supposed to be a new game worthy of the arpg crown, but if d4 released in this state the community would lose their mind!!! But I haven’t seen that from the community yet? Some sort of strange blizzard-like loyalty? Where is the innovation? How did they spend 6+ years and give us only a variation of poe1 that is actually disgustingly REDUCED? There is no crafting really, there is not ONE single new mechanic in the game? How is that justified when releasing a NEW standalone game(oh it’s early access it’s fine) early access what? A worse version of the old game? It’s confusing. They could’ve given us any type of innovation whatsoever any mechanic that isn’t Deli or breach. Especially considering both these mechanics just throw quantity of enemies just rushing you creating a dps check which leads me to my next core issue with the game. SCALING, doesn’t exist. The gem links/plethora of additive damage you don’t feel it, you can stack it so much and it simply doesn’t matter cus it’s not enough to one shot the screen which is necessary to beat the only content in the game almost, which is get “howa/pillar” or get “archmage” both these “only” options .. oh yeah Herald’s too 🙂. Trivialize the screen and completely nullify the approach of combat and meaningful gameplay. I want my spells to matter I want to be able to scale things without being forced into the binary blasting meta, I want multiple buttons, I want poe2 not poe1.5. Ps. Oh Items dropping completely boring, last epoch almost got the lead on arpg right now almost which I thought I would never say. I fear Ggg won’t be innovative or brave to significantly alter this version of the game. It needs it. Innovation!
With the original of sin, dont use 100% chaos. Instead, use one that's corrupted so you can now scale with herlds adding huge amount of damage also dont focus on poison + and pouson damage. Use crit and chaos and high physical.
Totems? Howa. Poison Concoction post patch? Howa + Heralds. Spells? Archmage. Please GGG, ANY other scaling vectors. It's getting mad boring putting ingenuity + stack gear on every fucking build
Thats why ive stopped playing until the next league. At first i was impressed by all the options that were available in EA, but quickly realized how youre pretty much shoehorned into following meta or you will spend the majority of your time slow and not making any progress
Hi allie you also forgot that the valance of experiences you get after level 60 in map is really bad and also can only use 1 portal per person with really suck
To be fair anything they do will make you feel worse. They will NEVER bring the other builds to compete with the busted top tier end game builds that we have right now because those are beyond what the power level of the game should ever reach (1 shotting ubers, etc). If they rebalance the endgame it will be to nerf most of the optimal builds before bringing the weak ones in line. I understand that there are a lot of builds that are weak and can't scale well and I agree to change it, but if "not feeling as good as other builds" is the problem, we'll never get that.
I think this is a pretty fair and sober take on the state of the meta and build variery in general Allie. I do wish that you would slow down a little, pace your speech a little and let your points breathe; you talk so fast that i am mentally hyperventilating now. Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts. 😊
Sorry, its just the pace I talk at. Its hard to slow down and even then, it would make the videos be a lot longer which I dont like. Ive tried to in the past and its not easy for me to do
since 2013 i play poe1 and every season but poe2 is so uninteresting. never thought this would happen. im sad that they made a new game instead of porting poe1 to a new engine.
The hope is that GGG dont just nerf the only ways to scale in the game and actually buff the floor (which mark did identify as a problem in the recent interview) so that more things feel viable. Now we just need to see if any of that happens next reset
A legit criticism of GGG is why haven’t they simplified calculations from Poe 1 with Poe 2… there isn’t a good explanation for it and it is a detriment to the game l. A good example of this is “shock”.. I was using a build where lightening ball had 800% MORE chance to shock, (EIGHT HUNDRED PERCENT MORE!) and I could hardly get anything to shock in a reliable way.. like why? Why are gems and calculations so misleading and counter-intuitive? Pair this issue with scarce loot and it being expensive to theory craft and people will just walk away.
I'm a little bit torn on this. On the one hand, i wouldn't mind if they built up some of the damage on things like poisons and physical damage. However, they have stated that they want pinnacle fights to be at least 1 minute(they said 1-3 minutes with a late game build). So by their own vision, all these stat stacking meme builds that kill the pinnacle bosses before they can even take a breath is definitely not what they were intending. Like, you mentioned how you need to use HOWA in order to scale something, but I'm not using them at all on my pure ice damage Monk, and I'm absolutely obliterating everything, including pinnacle bosses. They appear, get frozen, then die in just a couple of seconds. Realistically, that's way over what GGG stated they even want me to be doing, much less dealing 20 times that damage with Gemling HOWA meme stuff. So what is the baseline actually supposed to be? I think honestly the community is trying to break this game into PoE1 as hard as possible, and the devs are trying to stop it.
I honestly would be ok and assumed week 1 that pinnacles were going to take 1-2 minutes to kill. Im kinda dissapointed that its very much not the case.
That's just bad practice you gotta mix it up or you going to get real negative towards the game. All the content sucks if that's all you do. How is sanctum actually better than mapping besides the Chests being fun?
I hate towers with a passion and they feel bad to interact with so all im left with is bossing and sanctum. I plan to try out some bossing soon and I want to give sims a go but, current tower metas are unfun to me
Yeap, it sucks there are very limited builds that scales properly to end game, and most of them rely on bugged skills (like LA), or require pretty expensive items, making them not really viable for most casuals (and not-so-casual) players
Well thats not true, they can buff base damage of skills and lower the mana costs at higher levels. They can also buff added damage rolls on gear esp ele damage on weapons and that would help a lot. The removal of spell added damage is also a massive mistake in my opinion. They can nerf HoWA and buff base scaling of attacks to where you have a strong skill by default. As for dots, they can add in dot multi in more generous amounts and up the poison cap which would allow for non crit builds to thrive as they would want to focus on as/cps vs crit nodes. There are ways for GGG to fix this in the short term, we just need to hope they do something about it with the next major patch.
I did 3 builds in trade. Stormweaver flameblast ignite + coi dd(off screen clear)/comet(single target). Cleared all +4 bosses with it. Around 500k dps, spent around 3d (I league started it). Deadeye Frenzy stack pure phys volley/snipe. Multiple screen clear, one shot +4 bosses. 70d budget. Snipe does 30m or 60m damage to Xesht if deadeye ascendancy procs Infernalist lowlife life stack cof + coc comet. Full screen clear, few seconds for +4 bosses. 150d budget Currently doing gas arrow poison PF in ssf, we’ll see There are ways to scale outside of howa, spellcasters are kinda locked to archmage, thats true (imagine if flameblast worked with archmage, would be orbital nuke)
Volley felt great with charges and crap without. I didn't have the most damage so sometimes wouldn't wipe everything and the internal C's in frenzy sucked in that case. And I think it relied on heralds, at least the one I tried. Snipe, I need a better indicator. Between me having trouble with that, mob speed, evasive smoke, warping, jumping. Several times I would pin fire snipe and they'd be able to move before snipe hit. While dodging any lightning mirages or chaos balls or whatever. But when I proper snipe hits it is definitely satisfying to the chunk
@panzerswineflu for snipe I orient by sound, to generate frenzy charges just autoattack and slap ingenuity onto combat frenzy. I guess my bow was good enough to oneshot most white mobs even without charges
Yeah there certainly are other options that are good but the issue is that almost everything fits into the mould of HoWA or Archmage and it shouldnt be like that. It feels awful for example that scaling an ignite build feels like shit or with how limiting poisons are right now most skills dont work or dont feel good.
@@a_mint_22 I had 300 pDPS bow, couldn't afford more and sure can't now. My deadeye is just stuck with market prices. Trying another build to see what I might want to start after reset
@@Alliee Actually when you stack enough ignite magnitude, ignite dps starts growing exponentially. I think its 300%. I just didnt want to throw more divines into my stormweaver. I also hated ignite in the beginning, but it turned out pretty good
Shocker!! the game where Chinese/russian names will say no to ur trade offer of one Div less than their overpriced item. Or better yet when the coolest items are 120 div to 1 mirror. Or playing SSF and getting life regeneration rate and accuracy rating on every piece. Hell I saw someone last night in chat roll stellar amulets with +3 projectile skills 4 times in a row with chaos orbs and the +3 got replaced every single time 😂 dead game gta6 will bury this “for nerds” game
I really hate this sentiment that there’s nothing wrong and all the creators/community is just talking out of their neck. Why are we ok with glazing but not ok with criticism?
Yeah idk. Ive never really done rant videos and if i ever have a problem with something ill just talk about it on stream. I never felt like poe1 had big enough problems to discuss but there certainly are in poe2
I dislike that rarity restricts my creativity for gemling. Because attributes is so crucial. And sacrficing all resistance means dropping many divines on grand spectrums and god roll moriors
You didnt even watch the video or any of the points I made before making this comment. The problem with poison scaling is that literally crit pconc or gas arrow are the only viable options that dont feel awful because you cant really scale attack/cast speed.
The issue i have with this kind of video is that it is taken without context or proper presentation of the problem. There is for now 2 different games, POE2 campaign that is to my opinion well balanced. You can make a lot of different builds, less zoom zoomy that can be viable. and there is POE2 mapping endgame that is just a copy past from POE1 where indeed you need to scale your damage to the roof to 1 shot everything (your build is a good representation of it - very boring to play) because the balance is not there (not enough defensive scaling), the monsters too rapid to engage with interesting gameplay like during the campaign. And they will have to make a choice at some point or maybe not, but at least communicate on the fact that we have 2 different games in one. To come back to the topic, do you think the game is not well balanced during the campaign? Or your points only apply to the endgame? If it is only a endgame conversation, i think it is very premature to discuss about balance because it seems, they develop it within very limited time and well it was easier to just copy past what they had to deliver "something" than to leave the game with just a campaign therefore we have to wait a bit longer before to judge. What is worrying for the ones that want less zoom zoom 1 shot build is it seems they are using the same unique than in POE1 meaning the philosophy could remain the same.
Its a Beta, all good and their patches already show they do understand the issues additionally they stated in their interview whats missing and needed for build diversity and balance, but i guess creators need to milk
Not everyone pays attention to the interviews or reads nodes. There is literally 0 reason to not generate more discussion around topics that deserve more discussion, I dont understand what your problem here is.
How do you think they understand what issues need to be fixed? Content creators and the community vocalizing their frustrations exactly like this. Man just shut up I can’t stand people with your kind of view. Vocalizing frustrations in an early access is crucial
These Are mostly issues metaslaves have lol.. i Have already 2 builds that use none of these things yet Are perfectly viable .. going for build minmax And copying meta builds is Always gonna kill Ur Fun And Will be present in every patch if u let it influence u..
Depends on what "viable" means to you. I Love making builds in poe1 its Like solving a Puzzle. But in poe2 you dont really have any Options for solving your Puzzle. Every build needs to start with 100% rarity if you want to drop loot in your Maps. If you want to do arbiter you NEED a blink. If you want to active auras you NEED Spirit on certain Slots. If you want to scale damage on Off meta you have almost 0 Options in t16 ~40% deli. Single target feels very Limited as Well. Sure i can make any concept clear non juiced t14/15 but thats Not making a build for me. Poe1 solved a Lot of These Problems. Poe2 Starts with them and i dont understand why. Its Just easier for new players to get into thats all
This right here is my problem, you nailed it exactly. There are no good off-meta ways to scale builds. To be "viable" (to me at least) means being able to do high deli maps / kill bosses in ~30 seconds - 1 minute with 100 or so div spent into the build while feeling comfy and tanky. Theres lots of cool skills but so many of them cant be scaled to even comfortably do t16-18 deli without feeling in danger the whole tme.
No it doesnt. The point is that there are very limited scaling options that feel like you are shoehorned into one of very few methods to make your build better. You didnt even watch the video or listen to my points before making this comment.
Yes I get that and I mentioned it at the start of the video. There is nothing that will change until the next season starts in 1-2 months but there is absolutely no reason to not discuss this right now. Would you prefer I said nothing or organized my thoughts into a video to share with people. The point is to generate discussion on the topic
Good talk, I love poison builds but not really into the current viable poison gems. Hope they fix this!
@@Dokkan-fk4do yup
@@nickcanclimbdem be complaining at everything and contradicting themselves at everything
Howa and Ingenuity are essentially a must because they are the only 2 sources of flat dmg
I got bored of my sparkmage and I went for attribute stacking because I can't see any other equivalent scaling builds
yep. unfortunately I dont think there's a current build out at the moment that can compare to the HOWA Pillar Gemling.
Ggg sucks at melee
With my warrior I make sure to have a percent of damage inflicted come back as mana and hp. Most skills are single heavy shots so using them, kill everything then replenish mana and ho fully from the attack. I never use flasks, if anything I just get one shot and from ranged projectiles. In fact, I don’t use flasks on any character and always build to eliminate that. Some would say those stats are throw away stats though, and probably complain that now they feel they have to use that stat all resistances, which is works. Get leech mana on your gloves or something, give up some other stat and your good.
Warrior is the single most miserable class to play. 200 hours on my warbringer. Switched to gemling tempest flurry and it's so much better.
What do u mean i have done 200+ bluff tower maps its so cool endgame.
I LOVE THE NEW MAPPING META WOOO, a few people have told me about this and it sounds very despair
It is crazy AOE galore ( But I know it is not strong enough for Pinnacle bosses.)
RUETOO have done some amazing and interesting builds with Warrior and the Titan tree...but the last patch nerf it.
Loved your deadeye ranger build with exploding gas arrow. I'm currently lvl 94. Not sure how much farther i can go though.
@@PotatoGuidanceMissle true af
I was really looking forward to Shadow and the addition of daggers but with this magnitude system, I have lost some enthusiasm.
Once you get into stat stacking universe with a ranger... Bow attack beats everything and it's free on mana
@Alliee agreed, I'd like to see more variance
Innovation!
The game is freaking fun. More fun than D4, at least through the campaign. That's why. It's literally still more fun than D4 in this state.
'and well...' , 'because well...' are definitely your go-to's for explanations lol. Love your content, keep it up.
ive been wanting to build poison since day 1 but besides poison conc/gas arrow everything else is meh
I totally agree with you :( I wish we had more stuff!
Thats why ive stopped playing until the next league. At first i was impressed by all the options that were available in EA, but quickly realized how youre pretty much shoehorned into following meta or you will spend the majority of your time slow and not making any progress
Indeed. It's an just illusion of choice.
they should only nerf archmage if we get alternatives. dont want this to become the exact same thing that happened to cast on freeze
Hi allie you also forgot that the valance of experiences you get after level 60 in map is really bad and also can only use 1 portal per person with really suck
POE 2 is VERY half baked. Its certainty has good bones though.
problem is they want to nerf things but instead should buff bad builds.
i am currently following your stat stack gemling build and I am sure that by the time I can afford the astramentis the build is going to get nerfed.
Now imagine a huge arc mage and howa nerf with no other option of scaling
The hope is that GGG dont just nerf the only ways to scale in the game and actually buff the floor (which mark did identify as a problem in the recent interview) so that more things feel viable. Now we just need to see if any of that happens next reset
Imagine buffing many things while nerfing others. Go ahead. Imagine. Imagine it. Are you imagining? Try imagining. Imagine.
Shock, ignite, freeze build up are all absed on damage done. Lightning ball is useless for anything other than lightning warp.
So long to realize what all nerds been saying on the first day...
It’s not poe 1, stop comparing them
I am worried about you Allie... just how many times have you killed this sanctum boss at this point 😢
Im at ~300-350 or so runs i think? I plan to pretty much do nothing but sanctum until 3.26 because mapping really doesnt feel good
@Alliee God bless your soul...and please gimme a good 4% int / 4% fire dmg jewel. God bless amem
That's just bad practice you gotta mix it up or you going to get real negative towards the game. All the content sucks if that's all you do. How is sanctum actually better than mapping besides the Chests being fun?
@@pokermitten9795 "all the content sucks"

Yeap, it sucks there are very limited builds that scales properly to end game, and most of them rely on bugged skills (like LA), or require pretty expensive items, making them not really viable for most casuals (and not-so-casual) players
Also, boop.
1 div costing 200 ex is kinda boring aswell 😅
I don't see the issue. It's not like noobs only drop ex and pros only drop divine
Ggg can make it only by adding through years some op uniques and league buffs, and of course to many trash unique. Wait for good some years
Well thats not true, they can buff base damage of skills and lower the mana costs at higher levels.
@Alliee hard to believe, thet won't buff skills to op lvl scale only without new feature from added content
I did 3 builds in trade.
Stormweaver flameblast ignite + coi dd(off screen clear)/comet(single target). Cleared all +4 bosses with it. Around 500k dps, spent around 3d (I league started it).
Deadeye Frenzy stack pure phys volley/snipe. Multiple screen clear, one shot +4 bosses. 70d budget. Snipe does 30m or 60m damage to Xesht if deadeye ascendancy procs
Infernalist lowlife life stack cof + coc comet. Full screen clear, few seconds for +4 bosses. 150d budget
Currently doing gas arrow poison PF in ssf, we’ll see
There are ways to scale outside of howa, spellcasters are kinda locked to archmage, thats true (imagine if flameblast worked with archmage, would be orbital nuke)

Endgame build scaling is limited because we don’t have the whole game yet……They will add more items and gems. Give them time.
Sorry but this is an assumption. Sure there is more content being added but maybe build issues could be the same at full release
Scaling is pretty good there is just nothing to scale to. Need delve now
No it doesnt. The point is that there are very limited scaling options that feel like you are shoehorned into one of very few methods to make your build better. You didnt even watch the video or listen to my points before making this comment.
@@Allieemaybe he just disagrees. And that’s ok Allie.
Scaling what? What a nothing comment.
I wonder what is your IQ level !!???
Early access Allie.
EA is for feedback and this is feedback without which nothing will change much.
@@Alliee your toxic af. I would prefer that you do some self reflection there Allie. 👍🏻
What? What exactly did I say that makes me "toxic af?" I simply stated my reasoning for making this video.
@@anthonygriffin8463 You need to ask you wife's black boyfriend for permission before you type on the inter webs the next time round.
I posted something about this on reddit. It was of course downvoted I to oblivion. I guess I'll see myself out.
Yeah, how dare you speak out about the game with criticizm. Its why I dont touch reddit anymore
