Thanks for taking us to the flea market. Enjoyed coming along. I really like the scotty dog book end. The song you were referring to is "Blinded By The Light." Have a great evening Scott. 😊
Those pocket watch part were cool! Great for repairs, we went to the alameda point antiques fair. It’s the biggest on this side of America with 2000 vendors. My favorite flea market, I’ve been to it a few times and there was this stand with clocks clock parts and watch parts! The whole flea market was heaven for me, many clocks and antiques!!!! 💕❤️
Boon I’ve been to the Alameda Flea Market too. It’s really an antique and repurpose market and is on the pricey side. I wish we had real flea markets not just ones selling new stuff.
Yeah. Most markets in this area do that. Though alameda point actually has a lot of antiques. Majority I’ve been to have had almost all antique and vintage items! And it’s not too pricey, I got a beautiful French porcelain mantel clock worth (sold value) 550$! And I got it for 50$!! And also a lot of antique clocks I got there were 20$! And I got an antique folding table (sold value 300$) that folds into a dining table for 40$! A lot of deals. Some people put things expensive because they are professional in that hobby. So that’s why those stands are avoided.
Thanks for taking us along. I was hoping you would pet the alligator head that was next to the box of clock faces. I like the lead soldier you purchased.
I love your videos, especially when you go to the flea market. When I sold at the Golden Nugget back in the 80's, I thought nothing of getting up at 4am and driving an hour in the dark to set up to sell. I was terrible at it, but I loved it so much.
There is nothing better than searching for antiques in the fall in PA with a warm coffee, Im an old toy train guy and as usual you have to get there when it first opens to see any in the wild, if you do see old toy trains they are usually overpriced common items in rough condition......and I always end up buying them anyway, LOL, I would have blown all my money at that first table and then regretted it the rest if the day when I found something bettet at the end of the day LOL!
@@oldcuriosityshop265 Oh me too, while being stuck at home Ive been having a blast binge watching your older videos while I am reorganizing my collection of old junk/antiques/clutter. Ive learned two things watching this channel, 1. knowledge of the items and actual value and self restraint while spending are very important, 2. Every thrift store on the planet plays the same music at the same volume and there will always be a screaming kid somewhere about 2/3 through the visit. LOL! Keep up the content, im loving it!
Wow! Great flea market! I saw what looked like an old "over the fire" bean pot sitting on the ground in first of video. I saw a "captain's head" flower pot/planter and a great milk bottle.
Here I was looking at comments to see if anyone recognized the photo of the lady and it was interesting to see somebody said who she might be from old Charlie Chan movies . Cool !Lol great stuff. I loved the tin train and Shirley temple mug. And all the boxes with advertising of long ago.
I didn’t know that Salem the cat owned a China Co. Hey diddle, diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon. I bet he wrote that too. Cat celebrity in our midst. Cool! There are just some many treasures where you go. Thanks for taking us along.
The early bird catches the worm! Thank you Scott, for taking us along later, so we could sleep in. My guesses on the beautiful woman in the photo...Hedy Lamarr, Eleanor Powell or Gene Tierney.
Hi Scott..great video as always ,Iwas watching what you called yourlong this and that video and something happened to my dying computer so I want to say there can never be a too long video from you my friend xo :)
Wow, good for you getting there so early. I just can't do it...even when I sell I'm lucky to get there between 7 and 7:30. Mine is 1 hr 15 minutes from my home.
Scott, It was so interesting to hear you speak about the football program and how the people who attended the game would have no idea how their lives were going to change just two months later. Good to know I'm not the only one who has thoughts like that.
I noticed you passed on the same blue Shirley Temple pitcher this time. I think that picture might be Vivian Vance? I noticed you said re-capping the transformer. You obviously know about electrolytics. You might enjoy old64goat channel. Old radio repairs. Happy hunting! Wonderful videos!
We used to have the acme juicers for our Florida Oranges. I remember it tasting so good. They still sell plastic ones, but the old metal ones worked so well. Daddy would insert it into the Oranges and then we would squeeze the orange and drink the juice. Wow!! That really took me back in time!!! I just love your videos!!! Also, isn't that Judy Garland?....not positive....
Scott, I thought I would mention a great art project that you might enjoy. Years ago, a friend took apart an old, non-functioning pocket watch and displayed the case and the inner workings in a frame. I think she backed the works using a piece of felt (or velvet) glued to thin cardboard to sit inside the frame. I didn't ask how she attached the pieces to the cardboard, but I would think "sewing" them on using invisible or metallic thread would work. The "exploded" display was so interesting! Who really thinks about the inner workings of a pocket watch? Or a clock, for that matter?
Ooooo When I see blue and white my eyes goooo ... 😍 Was that a carved quail or gamebird of some sort , it looked NICEeeee from this end. I love things like that.
Hiya Scott! I had to grab my phone to take notes when you started talking about the delphite! I don't think I have ever come across any in the wild. The photo of the actress is very interesting! Could it be Norma Shearer? The video preamplifier couldn't have ended up in better hands! BTW, the body of the little man logo looks like a "Bill Ding" block, lol! I can see that dating to the late 1949's! Have a great weekend and thanks so much for sharing!
A nice way to spend the morning, was the phonaghraph behind you the same one from the flea market, great stuff thanks for the trip. Are you going to restore any of it?.
No the Victor phonograph at the flea market was in horrible condition. It was completely rusted out with serious damage. I checked it out off camera. You are very observant!
Hello from Atlanta! I love old Charlie Chan movies and thought the actress might be Kay Linaker. I included a clip below when I Googled her. Maybe? Anyway, this was another fun trip hunting for treasures! Keep them coming! Okay, I am new to your channel, so my "two cents" is late, but that woman in the photo is Greta Garbo. Check any profile of her, and you will see the same arched eyebrows and jutting nose and chin. I am binge watching your shows and love them all. So many items I recall from my younger years.
Hey Scott! Just found your channel and two months late in answering the question, but did you ever figure out who the actress in the publicity shot was? Irene Dunne maybe?
Oh golly miss molly! I'm going to give a "talk" in an upcoming video about steam punk and my thoughts pro and con. To be honest, I'm glad I rescued the TV box BEFORE it was destroyed! I guess that tips my hat when it comes to altering things that have survived in their original condition. Now I appreciate your opinion and I'm not saying that I am against the creative expression of steam punk. I'm perfectly fine with it when the creators use broken or miscellaneous random parts to create and give new life to what might have been tossed out. However.....I am totally against the idea of destroying and item that has survived intact and often of great value to certain collectors. That video amplifier is rare and dates to the very dawn of television production in this country and it has survived unscathed. It would just make me cringe and cry to see it turned into a steam punk lamp! Ok. I'm not fussing at you so please please don't take offence. I know my opinion might not be the popular one but I am a purist when it comes to preservation. I value open discussion on this issue and I think the topic is fascinating. Thanks Pamela. And yes....I would have to agree with you on the remains of the old telephone workings. Clearly it's not a rare item and in the current state, it would be an awesome project for a steam punk creator. :)

The brochure of the ship !!!! My favorite. I’m also fond of the lead figure. Whenever I see the brand Acme of course I think of cartoons 😊
