i dont know if title is just clickbait, but i do agree shadcn is overrrated. I mean, with tailwind, you can build the same component in like seconds. I tried shadcn once, and meh, it's not for me. Why in the world would i need a 30kb file just for modal. I built one myself in minutes, with all the functionality, and it's only 7kb
Yeah - so I started off with just a clickbait - as even if I get some hate on my content - I'm still growing - while I can share more REAL value adding content on my Channel. But get where you're coming from - but I think Vercel has got the Distribution thing right - where they build components, have their own Generative UI then even hosting - the whole ecosystem that they're building.
Even if it's your personal view, I don't think shadcn is overrated at all, even the website you're suggesting "Achromatic" is build on top of shadcn/ui
