- Walking in Blacktown City Centre Sydney Australia from Blacktown train station to Main Street (both sides), Flushcombe Road (Blacktown City Council & Max Webber Library), Westpoint Shopping Centre (Westpoint rooftop restaurants & food court) & Westpoint Bus Station (underground bus station).
Blacktown is a suburb in the City of Blacktown, in Greater Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Blacktown is located 34 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. Blacktown is the largest of any township in New South Wales and is one of the most multicultural places within Greater Sydney.
The Blacktown Commercial Business District is located close to Blacktown railway station. Westpoint Blacktown is a major shopping centre and there are a number of small shops, restaurants and hotels in the surrounding area. Westpoint also houses a western suburb television studio of the Nine Network. The Blacktown CBD features the following landmarks:

Blacktown Hospital
Blacktown Workers Club
Cucina Locale Revolving Restaurant
Max Webber Library
Patrician Brothers' College Blacktown
Nagle College Blacktown
A notable Blacktown retailer in the 1950s was Frank Lowy who conducted a delicatessen and small goods shop in Main Street.
Westpoint Blacktown is a large shopping centre situated in Blacktown, Western Sydney, New South Wales, owned by Queensland Investment Corporation. It was first opened in 1973, and then renovated and expanded in 2006, making it one of the biggest shopping centres in Western Sydney. The centre serves as a major retail hub for the region.
There is a taxi rank on level four. The basement level of the mall is an underground bus station, opened in 2006 as part of the refurbishment and expansion of Westpoint, providing a direct connection by bus services to surrounding suburbs. The main entrance on Level 3 is within short walking distance to Blacktown railway station and nearby alternate taxi ranks.
Blacktown railway station is located on the Main Western line, serving the Sydney suburb of Blacktown. It is served by Sydney Trains T1 Western Line and T5 Cumberland Line services and NSW TrainLink Intercity Blue Mountains Line and regional Central West XPT services.

@@marcozolo3536 I wouldn’t say “nothing”, I’ve been to London twice and honestly Sydney is getting pretty close, the traffic is definitely far worse in Sydney and that’s saying something tbh I think Sydney is approaching Paris level traffic and Sydney is prettier to look at although London is beautiful in its own old worldly way, they’re both beautiful cities

I am living in Blacktown city council area last 20 years. Stanhope gardens is my suburb name. Nice and well planned suburb. So far no problem at all. Welcome to our Blacktown city area.

Lovely video. I lived and worked in Blacktown from 1999 until 2016. I witnessed a lot of change during that time - Westpoint shopping complex, transport interchange, Library, street beautification, high rise reso towers etc., with much expansion in the Northwest growth area. Not long before that, a decade or so, Blacktown had the feel of just a country town. Now it is a thriving city, with a major development in Main St under way, and there are plans afoot for a new Council Civic Centre (I like the current one). The only constant is change. I did recognise an old face in one shop... and briefly I was there again somehow...
Gentrification is happening.

I live there on Newton Rd, just near Walters Rd. Always shop at Westpoint. Ay 17:37 on the right hand side was my first School. It's a Museum now ! Good Video.

That little arcade you looked into @ 15:10 is bizarre with how many tiny hairdressing salons there are in there, there must be about 10 of them.. I wonder how they all survive. You can walk right through to the back lane where St Vinnie's is.

Main St has changed alot in the 22yrs since I left ..born and bred Blacktown girl! But the Commonwealth bank is still there!😁

I found this area a bit unsafe.......despite a mall at the center, it gets all so deserted at as early as 8pm.......the bus frequency is reduced, streets are deserted, the shopping mall itself is deserted in the evening with most of the shops including food court, mcd, kfc, etc closed by 7pm, even the 2 supermarkets aldi and coles close by only 8pm and only woolworths is open until 10pm

Worked in Blacktown of 3 years. Would be one of the best suburbs in Sydney if it wasn’t for a handful of teenage thugs that hang outside the station shopping centre.

blacktown has a large Filipino population
it was named blacktown because it was literally where they relocated all the indigenous people. they have even considered changing the name, because of the racist history.

@@wallywombat164 there was talk about changing it to Bungarribee, but eventually they decided that there wasn't really any point to changing it. Eventually the new suburb west of Blacktown got given the name Bungarribee.
