    I’ve got a ninja 400 at the min, bought it for an everyday commute & love it . Went into my local Kawasaki dealer on Saturday for a ride out & book a service ended up trading it in for the ZX4RR 😂 wife went nuts . Pick it up in two weeks, I can’t wait!!!! Great review 👍

    Fabulous bike Mark. It only has 5 BHP less than the 1976 Z900 I owned when I was nineteen. On recollection, that weighed over 530 lbs dry !

    A few days late to this one, Mark but a good review nonetheless. It's so good to see Kawasaki, at least, flying the flag for small capacity inline-4s to counteract a biking community that appears to have been completely seduced and intoxicated with singles and 270° cranks.
    A naked version using this engine would be a nice compliment to this machine.

    With a top speed of 140mph and an engine that can rev up to 16000rpm, one wonders why on earth anyone would want a Litre sports bike...

  • @gorrdd
    @gorrdd 19 днів тому

    Wow... they really upped the game on this lower mid-range sports bike. The power to weight is spot on.
    This bike is all about the engine. You seem to get a lot of what the litre bikes offer in terms of the engine thrills without the huge price tag and monster 'over performance'.
    I really like this bike and I was never interested in a real sports bike. Thanks for the review and sharing, Mark.
    I was out on my new ride today and put another 200 miles on it.
    Did my initial oil/filter change and chain maintenance last week. The pops and burbles that come out of the 450nk are great.
    I put on a windscreen and added a top deflector to get the wind off my helmet. It's better but the wind still comes around the sides and makes some helmet noise. But not nearly as bad as before.
    I'll look for some side defectors as well. Maybe I can get it to really quiet down on the helmet for longer trips.
    I can now at least hear the music and carry on a conversation at highway speed. But it's not quiet by any means.
    I love my new ride... it was great fun to be out in the north Texas farm and ranch lands around Ray Roberts Lake.
    I think I might make another trip out to the Red River around Lake Texoma and the Eisenhower State Park.
    I can ride this thing all day without getting a sure butt or back. I picked it up new for $4,165. Such an incredible value for the quality and engine performance.

    • @gorrdd
      @gorrdd 19 днів тому

      @markpulling12 It ticks all the boxes, doesn't it!
      On longer rides, I would prefer a quieter sounding bike on the exhaust note. That's one of the areas where the ZX-4RR shines. It's pretty quiet unless you pull back on the throttle and she screams.

    Younger generations have less experience with small(er) displacement 4 cylinder machines. In my time working in Japan in the 1990s I owned and appreciated 4 cylinder bikes of 250cc (Suzuki), 400cc (Kawasaki) and 750cc (Kawasaki). i know it´s kind of awkward, but you shortshifted the whole time. The zx4rr awakens it´s true potential over 12k rpm. So it can be a real rocket, if you manage do hold high rpm. At the same time this is dangerous as well, because you kind of underestimate the power.

      @@davmanlop333When you think what the zx4rr is really designed for, It's really for experienced riders to enjoy on the road without going silly fast everywhere. To get that usable supersport experience on the public road. The more years I put into motorcycling bikes like the zx4rr are very appealing. Powerful machines aren't what I'm interested in anymore. Only thing is you've got to be sure the zx4rr is what you really want. Like you said those mid capacity twin sportbikes are not too for off the price off the zx4rr. In the long term the need to rev the little zx4rr everywhere might become tiresome.

      Looks great & goes great, but at that price you can buy a sorted Suzuki gsxr750 srad that'll absolutely crucify the 400, a Himalayan 411 to travel the world & a Truimph Tiger 955i for motorway cruising.

      Fyi there are many reasons
      Here are a few
      I ride sensibly so I get more review bikes from dealers ...they watch my reviews!!
      If I fully open up a bike it incriminates me on video ... without even trying on a modern bike lol 🤣
      I have my safety and the public safety in mind ...that's how I get do many review bikes ....
      The bikes are always brand new ... engine and tyres
      The list goes on....
      If you want speed reviews there are loads of track reviews or foreign ones in t shirts with tin pot helmets
      Btw I've maxed out a 1999 busa on the auto bahn so no fear markie
