It " kept you off the streets " was what my mother would say and if I did my chores she'd buy me a Lindberg kit for .78 cents at Woolworths department store ! Oh I miss those burgundy Me109's and yellow Zeros ! I'm 68 years old and still building ! Keep up the building, pleasure to watch !

@@FlyingSModels I picked up the ICM 48238 - it's their 1/48 Junkers Ju-88C6. But actually you can build many different Ju-88s out of this box - the parts are included to build either an A-5 or A-4 bomber, D recon bird and the early C tin nose fighters - C-2, C-4 or C-6 with or without radar. You get a comprehensive cockpit and two complete Jumo 211 engines. The surface detail and part fit is exceptional.
Nice review. KN587 is one of two surviving civilian owned and flown P-51Hs. It is marked as the P-51G supplied to the RAF for evaluation. It was raced at at Reno in the early 1980s.
Very good unboxing of an ultimate Mustang. I have couple of Modelsvit kits in the stash. Personall I like build vids that cover the whole process in a single vid with narration as it means I can listen while sat at the bench. Photos or vid series are both OK but I do like so see plenty of end build images and a project summary.
That's great feedback. I've already started on the build and it's going together really well. I'm still considering the type of video to create but I'll either do a single one or break it into only 2 parts if it looks like it could go too long. I may try to narrate this one on a separate track and see how that goes. Thanks again!

Really appreciate that article. It looks like what was sent over was the lightweight F and G. The H, according to the article, made it to Newark on it's way to the UK but never left the states due to the end of the war. That being said, it was still a "real" scheme. Thanks again for the intel!!
For what you get in the kit package, from the overall quality and the extra detail parts and masks, a great value indeed! And I've started the P-51 and it's going together great, with excellent details and fit.

That kit looks much better than the kit I got a few years ago. . . . gonna have to get one.

The H was sent to the UK for evaluation - maybe it 'was' painted.... they tended to...
I just read about that. I had never seen that before but a buddy just sent me a pic of it (not sure if it's legit but it does appear to be the case).
One P-51H was given to the RAF for evaluation at Boscombe Down. Its serial was KN987.

The H models did have that big paddle blade prop, I have several photos confirming the correctness
