Thanks for the lesson today, I always liked the wonderful noise of Black Flag 🏴
Sorry! Maybe there will be some Christmas ones up soon. Me too.
Black Flag was always one of my favorites too. No access to a guitar tonight….. will be all over a few of these tunes later today!
thx bra. black flag are playing here in my neck of the woods tonight. never saw them - never thought i could and this is surely a lot of fun before a real concert.
Rad. Enjoy the show!
Excellent
Really good! Thanks!
Great videos. I like your record collection. New or from back when? I see a lot of great stuff being released on vinyl now. Keep up the great work
Thanks for watching. Most are original but some are new reissues. I prefer the originals but they are getting pretty expensive these days!
@@ScottGuitar Rock on, just cool seeing vinyl
Hi Scott, great lessons, I got some questions for you?, what gauge strings do you use on your les pauls and what guitar amp do use on your videos lessons,Thank you you, Thumbs 🆙
Thanks! I use the Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 9’s. I’ve been using a cheap Marshall 12” combo on the videos I record from my couch but occasionally I use a 50 watt Mesa Rect-o-verb when I do them in my garage. Thanks!
I don’t know why his solos sound sloppy. Maybe because he liked it or couldn’t play properly but either way it’s a signature style of Black Flag 🏴☠️
Yep. I think he wanted it to sound that way and he influenced a lot of guitar players.
On that into when hitting those chords 3 times as you move up the neck, would the band do alternate picking cause I find it difficult at that speed to do downstrokes like that, but I want to be true to the recording. I have OSD and I'm dedicated to Black Flag, plz help
On the record it sounds like all down strokes, but it's hard to tell because of Ginn's tone. These days live they play it with alternate picking though. I think it is possible that he played it with alternate picking on the record. So, I think you would still be pretty true to the sound using alternate. I hope that helps!
