there is a part of this song that distinctly reminds me of the part when Tabuu dons his wings...and one-hit KOs my fighter(s). ;)

Tabuu is the boss that taught me that the dodge mechanic exists.
It took me around five or six times to find out to dodge the stupid wings
There's actually a really interesting interaction with Pokemon Trainer in this fight. I didn't know that the dodge or shield existed when I first fought him, but I did know that switching pokemon put you in the pokeball for an extended period of time. Turns out you can dodge the wing attack with Pokemon Trainer down-B.
The interesting mechanic isn't that you can dodge it, though-- it's that you can only dodge it once. If you try to do it a second time, Tabuu will actually delay the second and third wing attack specifically to catch Pokemon Trainer down-B.

What I love most about tabuu is that he represents maturity and change in a young one,to the extent where they are practically soulless clogs in a machine, I wouldn’t even be surprised if there where endless tabuu’s across the multiverse that take place in a child’s imagination, so technically even if you beat your tabuu their are still those who haven’t beaten theirs, turning into the one thing that every child and Nintendo fear the most, a mature adult

Rejecting childness is the exact opposite of maturity, though. You can be a mature adult and still unashamedly love Pokemon or other "childish" things.
I'm not sure where this problematic idea came from, but being mature doesn't mean that you're no longer allowed to enjoy anything or have an imagination.

@@boyishdude1234 Is this not the point? Tabuu, as a representation of that “maturity”, also represents the desire to reject things seen as childish, to pretend that one was never a child. If anything, this is immature, a desperate attempt at maturity that only in the end fails. Maturity is often seen, especially from a child’s perspective, as being serious, tough, and sometimes emotionless, rather than what it truly is.
Acceptance, open-mindedness, and being unswayed by others, being brave to be *you* are all traits of someone who is mature. But what a child sees, trying to reach their perception of adulthood, is this toxic mindset that one has to reject their “childish” interests, and to cast away these characters that were once role models. Much like Tabuu does, locking away the fighters, brushing them off as trophies of the past.

That butterfly move he had was fun to dodge since it felt like a Wario Ware minigame
i never knew you could dodge until smash 4, me and my siblings always just tanked the off waves (take a guess how that typically went)
Imo, with the context of having played through subspace, this is the greatest final boss of any video game ever. Nothing has ever made me feel the same way fighting this guy did as a kid.
The context of fighting him is the most epic. I think Galeem and Dharkon is the coolest, especially if we think of it in the context of Lifelight. The Lords boss battle is also a marathon and generally harder.
This boss was hard, even on Easy! I can't imagine beating Tabuu on Intense! Subspace Emissary was so much fun!

@@Xetorikal took me a few days, honestly. All those Bowser logos on the map? They're all bosses that MUST be defeated. You have to beat all of them before going back to the center of the map and going to fight Tabuu.

This song always makes me think of the time i one shot Tabuu with a trophy coin i got a 1/1,000,000,000 or something chance of getting and neither of my brothers believe me untill i showed them that i had Tabuu as a trophy, and one still dosnt believe me but it happened and it was amazing reducing the final boss to a trophy, from 100 to 0 in a single move.
reminds me of when my older brother and I were trying to beat Tabuu on the hardest difficulty for weeks and we finally got it when he clutched with the last stock and got him with the trophy coin. we didnt even know it was possible to capture him and somehow did it on the hardest difficulty
For the trophy coin to work, the bosses HP needs to be down to like 10% or so...
@@somedude4563 idk where you got that info but it was less than a minute into the fight and Tabuu had only taken less than 4% damage
@@barar4583Most websites say that the item only works on bosses when their HP is low, but I also remember doing the same thing to get his trophy so...
I'm guessing it depends on what difficulty setting you're on, whether or not it works at max HP.
This is when Smash Final Bosses turned into an INSANE Level of battle. Every Smash Entry from then turns up the difficulty even harder than the last one.
This rocky theme got us into an energetic moment in the beginning until everything goes insane with the soundtrack even.
One of the few villains who is beyond awesome despite not ever saying a single word

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but If I’m gonna be honest I prefer Tabuu over Master Hand. He’s so mysterious and ominous in which that makes him more intimidating. As much as I like Master and Crazy Hand, they’ve always just been like “Gwahahaha! I’m the bad guy!” I would love to see Tabuu return in some sort of way for a future Smash game

Master and Crazy hand *aren't* the bad guys though. They fight with their trophies for fun, never using their true power, but are fully willing to protect them when necessary.
For some reason, I adore this song, but especially from about 0:00 to 0:30- this opening is just amazing, the rocking guitar to two sudden beat drops and echoing the main theme leitmotif is just brilliant
The scariest thing was this man right here massacred the god of creation, but as what I guess if you basically kill a god of creation you need a god of destruction otherwise known as crazy hand, but since he was there, tabuu basically killed everyone. So many stories that were all part of one big one
Brawl had the best story of all smash bros honestly
That is until Snapcube made a fandub out of it. Then the whole story would be complete chaos.
I will always love this song because it's one of the post-Melee smash original songs that's not a retread of 'Audi Famam'.
1:15 despite being more empty makes the fight feel much more impactful
I thought this was going to be the last character in Smash Ultimate because of how everyone turned into trophies in the trailer lol.
Man, so did I. I got so hyped up thinking they were going to put the coolest character in as the final fighter... and then they reveal Sora. Oh well, I'm sure he still made a lot of people happy.

Returning to this song a decade later to find out it still slaps.
Honestly looking back, I don't really think the subspace emissary was as good as I and many others remember, but god tabuu is such a good and threatening villain even though he appears pretty late in the game. Knowing the fact that at any moment he can pretty much turn all these characters to trophies was crazy. He's so foreboding and mysterious I doubt they'll be ever able to replicate another smash villain like him. Taking him down and watching the credits for the first time really did feel like a major accomplishment man
Probably not gameplay wise.
But the cutscenes made playing it worth it just to see how the story plays out. Seeing all of the characters from Brawl interact with one another in the story was the highlight of that entire mode.
@@souldespair01 Oh yeah the cutscenes were great lol, I still rewatch them every now and then. I hope whenever the next smash happens they lean into that more if they do another adventure mode for it

The Ridley boss fights would be even cooler because you could unlock him after beating meta Ridley

@@samboi123 It's fun but it's basically a simple kirby game with meh enemy variety. The boss fights and cutscenes were the biggest highlights.

I'm gonna say Meta Ridley's trophy was harder to get both for the long way you need to take before being able to battle him and also for the time limit and the fact he is always on the edge of the screen.

One of my greatest achievements from this game was when I beat boss battle mode on the hardest difficulty.
I don’t know why but as a kid I thought this music would have been very fitting in a regular show fight scene where they are fighting over something stupid like the inventor of parking tickets
This boss freaked me the hell out when I saw it for the first time. I think it gave me nightmares that night. 😂

Wish they would've brought him back for Ultimate as a secret boss fight or something. He is still probably the best original boss of the Smash Bros series. Hopefully he comes back someday.

It's because Tabuu has a Character of HORROR. A kind of Powerful inhuman. Ultimate Bosses are like Gods entities, but Tabuu goes beyond it.
