  • This video is intended to compliment the South Carolina State Parks website campground information. The information on their website about each campsite is useful in choosing a site, but their dimensions for equipment size and site grade are not always correct. I have found a ride through the sites on a bicycle to be helpful. We spent a long weekend Oconee State Park in early May 2020 just after the state opened everything up from the COVID-19 shut down. The park was very busy (full by the end of the day), so I had to skip riding through lots of sites. This campground doesn’t really have multiple loops, so the video is longer than I like to do. The sites are in order, so you can skip to the ones you want to see. This does come from the perspective of someone with a large trailer, but I think it can be helpful for any size rig. I hope this helps. Enjoy the camping!

Keep up the great videos. The detail you give on each site is very helpful in planning trips. Thank you.

We camped at site 43 and while you can back in, if you take the road just above, it can be a pull through. We have a bal level and made it very easy with our high wall popup.

Great video! Needed to make a reservation and being able to see the sites made it way easier.

This is HUGELY helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do it! I know what you mean about the descriptions not being accurate. I booked site 2 for this weekend and just realized it says that it's only for 12 ft RVs. What even IS a 12 ft RV?! Your video makes it look like it'll fit my 19' van just fine, so thanks.

Thank you so much for making this video! You don't know how helpful this was to us. We booked late and there was only a few sites left for the amount of days we planned to stay. This video helped us pick the spot we felt was best for us. Thank you, thank you, thank you we appreciate your time!

My family stayed at 2 for our first and last time and we had to back out with our 30 ft camper. The people at site one flipped their golf cart trying to get it on two wheels and reversed as fast as they could down the gravel path way on their grandparents golf cart. They also broke a window on the ping pong house and threw a deodorant can only the fire and blew it up setting their camp chairs on fire. That was an eventful camp time. We now stay on the paved loop.

They are currently fixing all sites by making them level and making them a full hook up. I can’t wait to go back this July for 11 days.

Thanks for sharing this! How much does it cost to reserve a camping spot? Just subbed #184!

It was about $28 a night last year. You can check on the website. Prices will most likely go up this year with them adding full hookup to all spots and making them nice and level
