The man's home is a walled of garden hut that's relatively safe and sequestered from the wilderness and the tragedy therein. He tries to reclaim something, like all of us seem to in some sense familiar to the garden of eden. He reconciles two hostile creatures whose nature's have turned against each other, are locked in aggression, yet have the strange potential for affection. Something that seems unfathomably foreign and alien given the circumstances and, ultimately unsustainable. The deer leaves the garden, man's kindness incomplete, incompletable. And in error, foolishness, man does the deer a disservice. He desensitized it and unintentionally fools it into forgetting what lays outside of the garden.
That's the summary what was going into the mind. The deer(Child) forgot the dangers that are laid out well outside, it's free world. She's merely a prey. She was one in the 'cage' too but the predator was conditioned to not attack her and she got conditioned into thinking " they're all the same "

Looks like I am more sensitive than usual today, since I just found this video again in my bookmarks and I was crying the whole time remembering the ending. The animation is charming. I was also reminded of my bitch who died after getting hit by a car. We lived close to a highway and she wandered off too far when in heat. There was a hole in the fence that I was supposed to take care of. I carelessly let her go out that day, and didn't bother checking up on her. Luckily, it seemed that the driver had at least tried to brake, since her body wasn't in bad condition. I'm... sorry if you read this. Please forgive me Linda.
I am a german hunter. Yesterday after 12,5 years I had to call the vet to put my dog to sleep for ever. His name was Lenny and he was a german shorthaired pointer. He had a good life on my farm. I wish I could see him again one day in heaven, Bye bye Lenny 😢
This video has a unique meaning to me.. its like a direct analogy of a parent (the hunter) who has a partner (the dog) who abuses that parent's kid (deer). No matter how much the parent prevents or punishes their spouse for harming their kid, once that kid leaves that home environment, its as if she was not taught boundaries or how to keep herself safe from potential abusers. She just gets caught in a new cycle of abuse. This probably made no sense but the video means a lot to me.
