My summertime baits depend on the time of the day. Early morning I love top water, even in the heat of summer. Texas rigs work great around structures mid to late morning, and I kill it with gulp minnows around rocks in the evenings. A lot of people say to use deep diving crank baits and find the fish that have gone deep to escape the heat, but I've never actually had luck with that. I try it out from time to time, but I can count on two hands the # of bass I've actually caught with that method. Spinner baits work all times of year imo. Best in spring, but I don't think there's a time they don't work.
same with the crank baits. I always just assumed I didn't have the right ones. I also like Texas worms, but they haven't worked since spring out here, are the gulp minnows the ones in the same jars as dough baits? i might give those a go
Ready to go try these out😂
Shoot they probably won't work next week haha 😂
