Lisette, I do appreciate you sharing many personal details of your life with us all, and for being forthright and frank about your answers! You are a good, strong and independent woman, and you work hard to maintain your off-grid lifestyle and way of life, you rock. You just keep being you! Alone doesn't mean lonely, it just indicates that people like us are fine with just ourselves and pets for companionship. I've never had an animal borrow money and screw me over or lie to me, lol. Good for you and be well, Lisette.
i live and provide for my self since i was 15 . i am 45 now had a few good relationships in my life but i was never fully happy as far as small things go that bugged me in this or that woman. now i know some of these small things were not essential for good life but i was young then and everything had to be perfect. i know better now but i am so used to live solo to i even have issues now letting someone into my private "world i built" . though often i wish/want to share my ideas/goals/achievements with a good female soul . so yes we are not lonely but lets face it.. we do have that knowledge that we are worth so our desire is to find someone worthy ...

I just recently lost my cat of 17 years. She healed me daily by sleeping on my chest nightly. She is the reason i have come to understand unconditional love of all that is.

Gives me hope as well! I live alone in a rural setting, but not rural enough. I've never even heard of a female that loves being off grid, let alone one that's as feminine and gorgeous as she is. I've never considered the last 8-10 years that perhaps there is a woman out there like this, and may have changed my mind set about what God may have for me in the future.
To be alone with your own thoughts and enjoy your own company is a wonderful thing. You’re an inspiration.

Appreciate your honesty Lisette. Many people are single and live alone. Including myself at age 56. Some people meet their soul mate and some don't in this life. Have not met him yet ,probably never will living in a shed in the middle.of the woods .trouble is now because of some men ,were all sex maniacs ,pervs wierdos ,I find it hard looking at most women cause when they look back at me you can tell how they think .I adore this woman ,If proper love was never on the cards ever, just to be cuddled up and sharing with her would ,or mabey not be amazing who knows ,but she is amazing totally ,but I will never ever see or meet her ever and I suppose that's life ..I wish her more happiness cause she seems happy already..and mabey Mr right will pop up out of the woods from one of her sun setting vids ..

Something ive learned in life, you are never truly alone until you hide yourself away and no one bothers to look for you. You have your dogs and all of your followers that you share your life with. I for one can say that i wait patiently for your next update every week.
I pray you stay healthy, because when you work to hide the lonliness and you are forced to stop for whatever reason, you will feel it. At least from my experience.

Sometimes, i think he is mad at me, but i also understand that they are lessons and it seems like this is the only way i seem to learn. So, if i am able to pass along my thoughts and somehow they help someone else, that is all the graditude that i need. My intentions are never ment to be unkind, even sometimes it isnt seen that way immediately. I’ve been going solo for about 3 years now. It’s very stress free. I miss the strong bond with someone sometimes but I’d rather be single than with the wrong person!
+8 years here. It saves me also: time and money and way more time for friends and hobbies.

As a newer subscriber to your channel I will first say that I really love and enjoy all that I have had time to watch, from renovating the cabin, gardening, and all the nature that you include and film.
It reminds me of my old rural mtn farm in Vermont and I recognize all the native flora and fauna that is native to all of the northern latitudes.
And though I now live further south in the Western Blue Ridge/ Smoky Mtns of North Carolina I do miss the sights, the scents of those northern forests and many waterways and the unique wildlife up there.
I do enjoy watching your every adventures indoors and outdoors. Thank you for taking my memories back and for taking us along with your many adventures and projects.
I do envy your off grid life very much.
And I will close by saying it's wonderful to hear lots of the questions and knowing more about you.
And last but not least,
Any man who would ever be blessed enough to hold your hand and your heart would be a very lucky soul indeed as I know in order to have that he would certainly have to be as laid back easy going yet hard working with great morals as you and a beautiful loving person inside and out who was brought up by a great family and had the wonderful instilled values as you have.

it's a beautiful way of life i lived in nature for 13 years of grid for heating and water i loved it i came back to civilization 10 years now it's harder to adapt to the city and it's problems i sure miss nature i still have my land and will go back your videos make me home sick in a good way thank you for the soothing vibe they give out

I live a solo life on 200 acres in the high desert of Arizona and I haven't met the woman for me and I 70 with 6 dogs and I'm just as happy as you best wishes and plant something everyday of your life

I have to believe in your life that men have literally been throwing themselves at you, which has probably left you with some bad impressions of men in general. Born 'n raised in the wilds of Alaska 71 years ago, we lived semi primitive. We were 'off grid' before it was even a term ! :-) I have lived very primitive a couple of times since. 24/7/365 every thing you do is to prepare for winter ! .. This old mountain man is thrilled to find and now be following the adventures of a hard working gorgeous woman who isn't afraid of getting callouses on her strong hands and carry heavy buckets of whatever needs packing to survive. AND doing it all with style, and grace and a very serious appreciation of the beautiful world we live in. I've not forgotten how it feels, and do crave to be back out there.... Thank you, Lisette for reminding me of my real roots....
I respect the way you want to live your life off grid and the other choices along the way.
Everyone is different and we all do things different which is why each person is unique in their own way.
You are meant to be where you are now and being one with nature.

Lisette. After watching this episode, I find myself full of positive emotion for you. Ive been following you for a very long time. You really bared your heart and soul on this one. I bet it wasnt easy. But I also bet it was one that you really felt you needed to express to your followers. You were so true to yourself, and honest with us followers, that I feel that I know and understand you, even better than ever before. I could expand on this episode with countless comments, but I only want to say one thing. You are a very, very, VERY special lady on this planet. A very special person indeed. I have lived in somewhat solitude, similar to yours all my life, and Im fast approaching 70. I never found "the right partner" but I have no regrets. My partners are nature... and the animal pets that I have (and have had) in my life. My family and friends think I must be lonely. But I cannot seem to help them to understand, that a human partner, is not necessarily the answer to finding a persons personal happiness. I could go on for a long time, but I also recognize that you will likely never read this, and it will fall on deaf ears. So in slim hopes that you may view my comments, I will simply close by saying.... continue to follow your heart and soul. Trust your gut feelings. And never, EVER, stray from your path. Stay true to yourself. My personal mantra - I am on a beautiful, positive, and enriching path to please me, my current life, an no one else. I live in a small town in the West island of Montreal lost my partner 3 yeas ago after she went thru a few life affecting changes that made her life more difficult. Her passing was unexpected after
23 years together and I have been alone as well all this time. I am retired and have been for 8 years. As you said the right person has not come by yet

I love how you answered truly personal questions so raw and honest. I’m single as well and I don’t know why when asked the one question we tend to wilt as I’ve always been probably to independent as well. It’s strange how society feels we’re always to have that special someone because I too have not met my Jason Bourne. It’s really a wonderful feeling accomplishing hard tasks as a woman but never losing that feminine quality of loving my dresses and swinging a hammer at the same time! It’s so inspiring hearing you’ve had no formal experience in editing or filming as you do such a beautiful job! It’s nice getting to know you better by your answers as I guess we do wonder 💭 what’s behind the scenes and who you are. I lived in Sussex and Hartford Wisconsin and miss the weather there. I get a lot of the same questions because I have lived much of my life off grid, and have currently lived alone for 35 years. It seems to me that the people that really hate being along are not self entertaining, and hate being inside their own heads. I have always preferred to be alone. I have not always lived alone. I have children, a boy and a girl twins, and their mother passed away many years ago and I have lived alone ever since.
My grandfather was a civil engineer. He designed and built the Whiskeytown Dam (a large earth dam) in Northern California which opened in 1963. After that he went to Anchorage Alaska after the 1964 earthquake and was in charge of repairing their railways. I have wanted to see Anchorage ever since, and have always figured that if I ever did manage to get there that I would just stay there. I doubt I will ever make it there though since that woulld require going through Canada and I don't think they would allow me to enter their country. They have some of the most strict ports of entry of most every country in the world.
My guitar experience with my father is the opposite of yours. It was him that would sit for hours listening and watching me play rather than the other way around. My first musical influence was listening to my father's Dixieland Jazz record collection, and I was a trumpet player. Till 1963 when I heard Muddy Waters on the AM radio and fell in love with Blues music. Later that weed I bought a used guitar at a garage sale and started to learn to play Blues. In my early 60s he divulged to me that the reason he enjoyed watching me play was because it looked like I was playing for my own enjoyment and could care less what anyone thought of it. He was exactly right. I play for me, and don't care what anyone thinks of it.

I started playing harmonica around 1969. I haven't played in a few years but still have a dozen or so harmonica. Somewhere I have video of me playing. I didn't like the fact that my eyebrows move up and down in time with what I'm playing so I got a red felt Gambler hat to hide my eyebrows. But the only photo I have of that hat I'm not playing harmonica. The photo I have is of a "real" U.S. postage stamp I had made with a photo of me wearing that hat and holding one of my Duckulele, which is the name some of my fans gave to a 2 string lap steel ukulele that I play.

The answer to that question is of interest to me, and have the following observation from my own life. All humans are imperfect and it seems life is a school in which to grow and improve oneself. It's very difficult to meet someone who is at the exact stage of development as yourself, and also, as time goes on, people change. In other words, hooking up with someone means adopting their flaws and imperfections, why bother if your goal is self improvement?! Some of us are impossible to live with because of our stubbornness! Your modesty as to your accomplishments is pleasantly refreshing but you should be very proud of everything you've done. I hope and pray that eventually you get that well, solar panels and propane stove up and running to make your life a whole lot easier (you've earned it). I want to say it was an absolute delight just to hear you speak, and sharing details of your life. You are very charming. I find the concept of off the grid living very interesting. I grew up in a semi-rural area, and learned a lot growing up about fixing cars, growing food, riding horses, hunting, camping, etc. Like many burned out veterans that have really had enough of "the world", we are seeking a place of peace. Thanks for the inspiration!

I think its great that you appreciate nature and your freedoms in life to create, explore, and even fine time to share with us. Funny, it's same yop on my septic system in the ground. I had to use leverage to lift it off. Try maybe a stone/small log piece to one side and a long solid metal crow bar type to put thru hole and on the piece on other side to lift it. Longer the pole the better. May have to stand on something also to get higher. I have even learned how to get fence poles hammer into ground, using leverage.
